  1. I have one of these and reccomended it, have a bump from me!
  2. Squire P Bass - my first bass Yamaha RBX 260 - spare bass used at gigs, lovely neck on it, really like it Ibanez SR500 - wanted a brand new bass, plays nice and looks lovely, didn't use it much to keep it mint Yamaha RBX 170 - bought it because I liked the 260 so much, played well but no need for it, sold Warwick Streamer Pro M - wanted a Warwick for a while, and I adore this bass. Firm favourite amongst my collection.
  3. I've just bought a Streamer Pro M from morsefull. Great communication, nice to deal with. I'm really happy with the bass, thanks again! I would certainly buy from him again, all the best, thanks, Ade.
  4. Nice bass, I have one of these and can say they play really nice, great thin necks and I think the pickups are fantastic for the money! Bump
  5. Haha yeah pretty much but we just want a central hub to chill out, spend evenings there ect and play tunes. The more I typed that it does basically suggest house. I'm still at my folks place and the members that do have their own place might get bored of having bass' guitars drums pa ect all set up We have been going to a studio but for not much more we've seen units going where we could do extra nights and go when we want and it not cost more basically
  6. Nice to see something different being used, if someone didn't like the choice of bass I was using just on brand snobbery they wouldn't get much of my time after that! Anyway there could be bass players in any audience, take which ever you prefer.
  7. Hello all. My band are looking for a space to basically use as a band home. We currently practice in a studio but we're finding that actual song writing is eating into our practice time. We seem to be struggling to find places that will accommodate say a sofa a fridge and a band practicing (usually not very loud and outside of business hours as well). I'm sure people on here have places they own or rent so wondered what the norm is. My question to you is, what do your band do for practice? Cheers all. Ade
  8. I have a few basses, non are worth a lot but I'd say my Yamaha rbx 260, I love playing it, but I have a cheap p bass that is just in my room that I'll try stuff out on, my Ibanez gets used for gigs and practice, so the Yamaha just stays in its gig bag gathering dust at home!
  9. Good choice on the sr300, I have an sr500, I wasn't sure it was for me with the active pickups but one day it clicked into place and I love it! Yours has the actives I think? I'd say essentials for me would be, a good lead, a spare if you're wanting to gig, a spare bartery if you have active pick ups, decent strap and the locking things to stop it falling off, a tuner and that's about all I usually carry with me! If you're looking into a bass rig at some point, this is purely opinion but ashdown stuff is my choice, some great stuff in the for sale forums on here, and welcome
  10. Hello, are you interested in trades at all? I have a 410H I'm looking to down size from (would have been my other 4x10 but its at a friends house who's on holiday at the moment so have to offer the favourite instead!) Cheers!
  11. We played our first gig as such, it's usually attending/running open mic nights, so this was a nice difference. Nothing huge was our drummers brothers engagement party. It started off a little slow but after the first few songs people were up and dancing and singing, we ended up doing a few songs at the end where I made bass lines up as we went along, worked nicely. They even had neighbours they had never met before coming round, because they heard the band and liked it, so came round for a dance. All in all was really good fun!
  12. Thanks dudes! Can't wait to get it
  13. Bought a 500 today! Had to be ordered in so looking forward to it. Had a try on a 300 though and really liked it, thought I'd go a step up and get the 500, cheers all!
  14. Thanks for the replies! Yeah the 500's look like a good choice but I thought I'd ask people with a bit more knowledge than myself! Just saw the 3000, I've got in touch with the chap who's selling it! Thanks again!
  15. didn't mean to step on your toes with that message by the way, after I'd posted it is realised it could've looked a bit ignorant haha! PPM'd
  16. Hello all! I'm looking to get myself a new bass. It'll be my first brand new one. I've been looking at a Ibanez SR1200 but it is more than what I need, and a grand! So I started looking around. I don't want to spend to much, around £500 budget. I was wondering if anyone would/could point me in the right direction. I'd consider 2nd hand, but I want to go and have a look in the shops and have a play of a few and compare them, but like I say, I'm after a rough idea of where to start. If it's any help I have a P bass and an rbx260 and prefer the rbx for less weight and fast neck, in my opinion. Also I'll be using this bass as a nice one for at home, and to gig with too, nothing heavy just pubs and such. Sorry for the long post, hope this is the right place to post. Thanks!

Thanks for the nice welcome and replies everyone!
  18. Just want to add to this, I've had a few lessons with Dave, and he's a fantastic teacher, really chilled and patient, I'd recommend him massively! I've already learnt things I never thought I could!

    Howdy!

Hello all! I'm 23 and live in Manchester. I've been playing bass for almost 2 years now, I originally started with 6 string guitars, but after a gig where they did a piece with bass, then drums, ect, to show the band and what they all did, I needed a bass. A week later I had my first bass, a Squier P bass. Nothing fancy but I adore it. I've recently bought a Yamaha RBX 260 and find it much nicer to play and work with, which is slightly gutting as I really do like my p bass. A few weeks ago I started lessons and it's basically got me fully into bass and music, and made a huge difference to how I played, so thought I'd join up and say hello! Sorry for the long post, thought I should introduce myself properly. Cheers!
