Total Watts

1. 38mm all the way, anything wider feels like a railway sleeper. Grew up on Soundgears and Jazz basses so it`s just conditioning I suppose. I do like the fact that my Sterling Ray 34ca and Sadowsky MV4 have has a 38mm nuts !
2.
i know it's a different model but i very recently bought a Cort C4H in almost as new condition for £175.00 it's a fooking ace bass, sounds & plays very nicely, hell it's even got a wenge neck.
Yeah , I just picked one of those up cheap , was going to move it on but after 2 gigs and some home jamming its a keeper , it weighs a bit but just feels right , full 2 octave neck but has a medium scale feel to it , killer slap tone and nice paua inlays in the wenge neck and Pearl binding on the body , build quality is top notch and to be honest I think it rivals Basses 3 times the price ..... sort of a Hybrid MM/Status tone to it . Win Win
3. Sometimes it depends on my mood ... if I feel like doing a Mark King for a night ill go high , if im feeling more laid back ill go low .
4. guy pratt the late paul gardner [ gary numan ]
5. Off Gary Numans " Dance " album , early eighties . Mick Karn at his best . Slowcar to China is another monster . 6. When I pack away my Ashdown Little Giant after a rehearsal/practice , i rekon I could fry an egg on the bottom of it , the top and sides are relatively cool , ive put stick-on feet to lift the chassis for more ventilation but still hot , is this common with the likes of markbass and Genz Benz as well ? , Ive never noticed the fan coming on and I dont drive it hard either .
7. I suppose when you sell thousands of tham you will hear of faults occasionally . Ive never had a problem with mine , although i only use it for home practice , sold my old trace elliot ah200 practice amp , I love the conveniance of a lightweight small amp .... anyway i do notice it is very warm on the base of it after use so ive put some stick on rubber feet which gives it some " breathing space between the amp and the cab . Great wee amp , ive got the green 350 .
8.
I think this is very generalised bias but for what it's worth. Trace used to build things up to a quality in the early days - slowly they started building down to a price. By the time anything came in a furry cabinet it was utter rubbish that WILL fall to pieces in a gigging environment. I hear better things about the current range but I'm loath to bother trying it. I'd much rather pick up some old series 6 stuff - my fave - for a good price , have it checked out by a sparky and proceed with confidence. I found sounds I like easy to get , functions I actually used and I couldn't break it. That's all I require from amplification - to do its job while I crack on with mine.
Yeah , just picked up an older Series 6 AH200 for next to nothing , it has the green and red vol knob covers missing , a few graphic sliders broken off but still working , the front decal is peeling off and a couple of input front nuts missing ..... I LOVE IT ! sounds monstrous and performs well . A keeper !
9. There seems to be a lot of opinions on replacing pickups in Squire Jazz basses . The problem ive found is nobody seems to mention the fact that Squires have the same width neck and bridge pups , do I have to rout out the body/pickguard to accommodate the wider bridge pickup or is there a same dimension neck/bridge pickup appropriate for Squires ? Thanks in advance .
10. Heres my workhorse [ on the left ] . 1989 SR1100e ,oiled ash body , USA pickups , I think this was the grandfather of the " Prestige" series its known as these days . Recorded 4 albums and done a million gigs on it .Ive only replaced the input jack and a couple of batteries . I trust this bass with my life ....its never let me down .
