I agree without Jaco Playing it's just an old knackered Jazz,
however, If Jaco's bass was auctioned with good provenence then i'm sure it would go for way more than any of John Entwhistle's basses, and some of them went for seiously daft money !
No doubt it would end up in a glass case in Japan !
Stanley's Brown Bass, Miller's 77 Jazz are both just lumps of wood to..... I'm sure there are better examples of Alembics and Fenders, but their connection to the players give them their value and desirability.

That's a great bit of kit mate !

Hi Guys,
I've just acquired an Aguilar DB750 and i'm considering my choice of Cabs
Gigs these days are mainly smallish pub / club type situations with PA Support
I've gone for the DB750 for it's tone more than the huge power so i'm not planning (or needing) to run the head down to 2 ohms to get the full power. So i'm considering a pair of small 8ohm cabs. or a single 4 ohm cab.
Options considered so far are a pair of Aguilar DB112's or a DB410 (also considering a GS410)
I'm pretty sure the DB410 would do any gig I'll be doing for the forseeable future, however the DB112's do really appeal as a small footprint and easy to transport package.
Is the DB212 worth considering in all this ?
Would a pair of DB112's be authorative enough in the context of a rock band's stage mix ?
Also - has anyone A B'd the GS410 v the DB410 ?
Any advice most welcome
Thanks

Hi Guys,
I own an Ash / Maple 2 Band Stingray, considering dropping in an Aguilar OBP1 circuit to replace the Standard Circuit, I just have a feeling that the Aguilar circuit might be a higher quality pre-amp and i'm going to be using it with an Aguilar DB750
Couple of Questions :
Has anyone done this ? - Any thoughts ?
What is the voicing of the MM 2 band circuit ? - I know the OBP1 is 40hz & 4khz
Cheers
I thought I'd update on the Flea. I'm absolutely loving it, popped some new strings on today (EB Ultra Slinkeys) and actually had a raise the action a smidge, so graphite necks do move a bit
I'm loving the tone when a little bit of bass is boosted and the mids are very upper middy which is great for a slappin' an a poppin' if that's your thing.
Basically, I'm loving it, oops must stop repeating myself.
Pleased you and the Flea are getting along so well........ hell of a bass that just screams to be slapped !!! -
Did this go?

Can't wait to get my hands on this - thanks Mark.
It'll go nicely with the black on black DJ5 and Black on Black MIA P - bit of a theme developing here I think.
Black is errrrr..... the new Black ? -
Has the bass been modded so that there is a side mounted jack and if not do you have all the bits to return it to stock?
Hi John,
it's got a side mounted Jack with a mid control where the old Jack used to be..... the prev owner sold the original pups -

I'll make it even more unbelievable, I'll throw in a Minty Guard and a decent Gig Bag !!
Roll up !!! -
Hi Guys,
I'm offering up for grabs a cracking Lakland Bob Glaub with a couple of hundred quids worth of Villux Mods..... Pickup, 4 position mid switch and tone boost, really adds another dimension to the Precision sound while retaining the classic passive P bass tone as well.
Mods have been done profesionally and to a high standard
The neck on this Bass is exceptional, feels every bit as good as the USA 4-94 I had, Really one of the nicest feeling and playing instruments i've had the pleasure of..... Condition wise it'as a good 9.5 / 10
It's currently set up with Flatwounds and really delivers that "old school P bass thump" action is low and playability 10 / 10
Only reason for selling so soon is that I've tried out an Aguilar DB750 today against the Aguilar AG500 I was going to buy (and was really happy with) Man that Big Aggie is Good !!!
I now need the cash to bridge the price gap......
I hope Peter doesn't mind me using his Porn Thread to show the Bass, I'll take some photo's later
Fleabasses seem to be very hard to sell at the moment, took months to sell mine!
I think everythings slow, but yeah, Ray's & Warwicks seem to be in low demand, Ric's & Fenders are having their day again !!
The Flea's still here guys, happy to consider trades
Hope it goes well Mark mate, look after my Modulus

Thanks Guys...... Just got in from the gig !
What a Blast !!! Loads of RHCP fans in there...... well RHCP tribs are not that common on the pub circuit in the North East !!
My Playing was just about OK I think I scraped through it..... maybe i'll put a couple of pics or vids up when they come in (if there's any interest)
I didn't use my Flea Bass, I know i'm Crazy but I really didn't want to risk getting it knocked in a multi band situation !
Had to make do with my Stingray
Cheers
Mark
