Unique GB Spitfire / Pbass 4 string passive bass for sale (no trades thank you). This is a unique bass, a true one of a kind instrument, handmade by Bernie Goodfellow. I commission this bass from Berne in 2013 to fulfil the need of a ‘60s inspired, high quality, light weight, best of both jazz and P bass. The instrument has delivered in all respects and indeed exceeded my expectations. jazz neck - 38 mm nut (modelled on an 60’s Jazz bass Bernie had) P bass / spitfire body - slightly slimmer and downsized with an extended upper horn alder body stunning birds-eye maple neck 100+ year old Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard (from an old Victorian banister!) volume, volume, tone passive controls coil tap and serial / parallel on pick ups for different tones (pull up on volume nobs) About 4kg / 8.8lb on bathroom scales Great balance condition is very good A very comfortable bass to play and the P/J pick ups give the best of both worlds. The different combinations from the pick up options give plenty of tonal variation. The craftsmanship from Bernie is as always top notch. I’ll be really sorry to see this bass go but life moves on. The bass comes with the original GB Hiscox hard case. It currently has flat wound strings on. Can provide a nice Harvest leather strap if you like for free. I had a look on Bernie’s website and a normal Spitfire 4 string would be approx £2345. Bearing in mind that this bass is unique and has real Brazilian Rosewood for the fingerboard. £1750 (sale only no trades) Buyer to pay the shipping cost (happy to have a chat about this to make the best arrangement) or you’re very welcome to collect the bass from Dorchester, Dorset. You can watch a video demonstrating the various tones of the bass: https://youtu.be/koBbxk7ghqE Thanks for looking

JoeMeek VC3Q preamp, comp, EQ Clean mic preamp with 60 dB of gain, line in (which can work with instruments), famous opto‑compressor and 3 band musical EQ - Meequaliser. Works really nicely on bass. In good condition and fully working. Something was a bit noisy when I got it but I gave the pots a clean and it’s much better now. There are also some bits of velcro attached to the bottom by the previous owner - useful as footpads. Slight bend in a bit of the metal case - see photos. Comes with PSU. No branded box but will be very well packed. Link to Sound on Sound review: https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/joemeek-vc3q I bought this recently for a project that didn’t happen and never actually used it, and is superfluous to my needs. £250 including mainland delivery. Reduced to £220

EBS Classic Session 60 Combo Good clean condition. I’ve only used this for home practise but it’s more than capable for small acoustic gigs. Useful aux in and headphone out. Bass and treble EQ with additional Character and Filter buttons. Full details here: https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/EBS_Combos,_session.html £190 £20 UK mainland post and packaging (other destinations please contact me). Or collect. Thanks for looking, any questions do ask.

Yes, I agree, left hand position. Also whole body position has an impact. The left hand should be a relaxed 'C' shape. Straight wrist. Use the shoulder muscles to pull the arm back, which in turn pulls the hand and fingers to make good contact with the string. Only use the pressure you need to play a clean note - most people use too much. Also well set up bass. As mentioned by others Alexander Technique can help and anything that makes you more aware of your body and how you are using it.
