  1. I usually use a 4x10 and 1x15 cab bit tonight I am thinking of using both my 4x10 cabs (8x10) bit concerned that the lack of 1x15 will not produce as much bottom end. Thoughts?
  2. All done. Sounds exactly the same! Must be too used to a stingray!! Shame as its lovely to play and the tones are beautiful. I have eq'd both basses to a level on my BP355, see how that goes tomorrow night.
  3. Sounds like a plan. Ill let you know. Thanks all for your help so far!
  4. Cool! Maybe I will remove the wood body sheilding earths? I expect the barts are sufficiently shielded themselves. There doesn't seem to be any sheilding earths on the standard and buzzard diagrams. I will however be putting an earth on the jack just to make sure.
  5. Yep, I am going to remove the bridge pickup wood earth, the same wood earth to the neck pickup and use the neg tip to earth it all. I will then nest it through my digitech pedal instead of blowing my GK!!!
  6. I know! Its weird. I will try wiring it up buzzard style. What's the worst that can happen?!
  7. Putting resistor was a simple mistake and having an HND in mech/electrical engineering makes me confident that my wiring knowledge is quite a good reference to go by. Maybe instrument wiring is different as the lack of neg wiring baffles me!
  8. This wiring is as it came. There are differences from the buzzard bass diagram. 1. bass has an earth to the wood body from the bridge pickup wire which then earths on the bridge pot. 2. I have another earth to the woodbody which earths on the neck pot. 3. There is no earth on the neg terminal on the jack. I have always found this strange. Maybe I should go with this wiring in the diagram. The bass sounds fine, just a little weak. The capacitor is a 0.05mf.
  9. I ended up using Allianz. I'm hoping my premium wont go up as I have just bought a jazz to replace my old ray.

  12. This is painful. If I use my laptop the icon in this box blinks weirdly and it takes half an hour to write a scentence and then the blue box for the link wont bugger off! I give up!
  13. How do I post a picture using photobucket? When I try to post a picture I only get a url link copy option and that's proper boring.
  14. That unrehearsed person is usually me........
  15. You're probably right. I was expecting too much I reckon. I was hoping for this wide grunting jazz based sound. I reckon the stock pups are better by far. Lesson learned. It still plays beautifully though and is well handsome!
  16. Yes, all present and correct!
  17. My mistake, yellow is an earth that comes from under the actual bridge.
  18. It does now sound a bit more punchy now I am using the original bridge/body earth but it's output is about 2/3 of my ray which I know is active but these Bart's just sound a bit tame.
  19. <a href="http://s1259.photobucket.com/user/dinggremlin/media/photo_zps7ab40f1c.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1259.photobucket.com/albums/ii560/dinggremlin/photo_zps7ab40f1c.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo photo_zps7ab40f1c.jpg"/></a> This is the wiring now. As it came. Red is a body earth. Green is live neck pup on neck pot terminal 2 and earthed on bridge pot. Purple is bridge pup earth. Blue is bridge pup live on terminal 2. Yellow is bridge pup earth which comes from the pup to the body earth and then to the tone pot.
  20. There is an earth (if that what you mean by earthing plate) which is under the bridge pup. This is the one that I have bypassed and directly earthed the bridge pup onto the bridge pot. This earth is still connected to the pot. I guess this is the problem. So, a capacitor doesn't boost any signal then? I am okay with soldering, I will keep it running as I await advice!!

  22. It still sounds bad. The only thing I have done different is earth the bridge pickup directly to the bridge control pot whereas it used to be earthed under the bridge pickup to the body and then a link wire to the bridge control pot. I may have double earthed it?
