1. I haven't a clue what they do. I guess the 0.022 would make it sound scooped and the 0.047 would give it that mid sound? I was going to get a 0.022 and a 0.033 and see what they sound like??!!!
2. Who knows about capacitors then? I have installed some barts on my MIM Jazz and it sounds awful. The capacitor reads “503 100v” whatever that means, but Bartolini advise a 0.022 to 0.047 mfd capacitor……..whatever that means. I assume the tragic mid honky noise is due to this as the wiring is spot on the the pots are fully functional. Any help will be repaid with a “thankyou”.
3. ready?..............The purple wire is an earth to the body. Green is the neck pickup which is live on the neck pot and earthed on the middle pot. The blue wire is the one in question. It leads straight to an earth screw in the body (the original bridge pickup was earthed to this but is now earthed to the middle pot which is the red wire). The yellow wire is the earth to the actual bridge. The bridge pickup red wire is live on the bridge pot on the second terminal. All the white wires are standard. Maybe I don't need the blue wire or maybe I should earth straight to it from the bridge pickup. Is that the correct value resistor? Its says 503 100v on it. <a href="http://s1259.photobucket.com/user/dinggremlin/media/photo_zps861dcdf7.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1259.photobucket.com/albums/ii560/dinggremlin/photo_zps861dcdf7.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo photo_zps861dcdf7.jpg"/></a> <a href="http://s1259.photobucket.com/user/dinggremlin/media/WP_20140523_007_zpsc450754b.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1259.photobucket.com/albums/ii560/dinggremlin/WP_20140523_007_zpsc450754b.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo WP_20140523_007_zpsc450754b.jpg"/></a> <a href="http://s1259.photobucket.com/user/dinggremlin/media/photo1_zps6dd71711.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1259.photobucket.com/albums/ii560/dinggremlin/photo1_zps6dd71711.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo photo1_zps6dd71711.jpg"/></a>
4. Sure will. I just have to get past the next few tedious hours of work and I shall put pen to paper. How would I send you this monét sketch?
5. I just put some barts in my MIM jazz and they are coming straight back out. I have lost all punch and tone. Maybe I should change the resistor. My Ray sterling 5 sounds awesome. I would never do anything to it. Stingrays are built to be perfect.
6. So I installed some barts on my MIM jazz. It sounds rubbish. The sound is a bassless honky noise with very low output. I am running pots of a 250 value and I am wondering if I should change the resistor on the tone control. Its wired up properly. The only difference is that the bridge pup is earthed directly to the bridge pot instead of going to the earth under the bridge pup (screw in the wood) and then off that to the bridge pot. HEEEEEELLLLLP!!!!
7. I blame my drummer. No matter how much bass I have on, he always insists on adding more. Sometimes its like the room in bending due to the amount of low frequency........I love it.
8. Our guitarist is a bit emotional. I couldn't do that to him.
9. Due to my hartke 4.5xl going in for repair (now returned)I bought a stand in 4x10 hartke transporter and I also have a hartke 115xl. I now have the choice of my normal 4.5 and 115 setup OR 4.5 and 4x10 transporter (8x10 setup). This excites me and my GK1001rb head greatly but I don't know which setup to use at rehearsal tomorrow to drown out my guitarist with. Discuss.
10. Behaviour control technician, what a tune!!!
11. I went for passive Bart pups instead of a whole active EMG install by the way.
12. Thankyou kind sir. I will have a butchers. In the meantime I have been watching daves world of fun stuff videos on youtube. The bloke is a legend and has inspired me to buy a fret radius gauge, feeler gauges, an action height and pup height tool and some lemon oil. When I install the barts I will put some power slinkys on and have a fettle myself. It already plays better with just a half hour of tweaking. Maybe its my calling! I would love that!! Thanks again.
13. Um......it hasn't got a tweeter.....thank god.
14. Cool, now fanatically searching for wiring diagrams to get these Bartolini 9J1 S/SB into my MIM Jazz!
15. Just had a look on their site, completely changed my mind and ordered a set of Barts from them! £87 quid which is £28 less than anywhere else I found.
16. Its like a bad earth on the bass that only does it with the transporter plugged in which gets louder the nearer I get to the cab. I would upload a file but I have trouble even using a Calculator.
17. Looking to fit a set of EMG MJ pickups and electronics to the MIM jazz. Any suggestions of retailers?
18. My other two cabs are silent when not playing but as soon as I pug the "shed" in I get feedback. I put it down to a faulty flux capacitor when I reach the required speed!
19. so, I have been trying to find some passive emgs for a mim jazz. Its a bit of a minefield. Help!!!!
20. Zoom B1X effects pedal in good condition for sale. Comes with box and a power supply. Ta.
21. I live in Gloucestershire and don't know of any good guitars setup types. I also need a set of EMG's fitted to my MIM jazz and notice the EMG's are solderless. This also scares me as my Jazz is fully soldered. I am frightened and considering turning to ale. Discuss.
22. Nah, its deffo electrical as it does it between songs.
23. It buzzez like a mofo though. Repalcing the jack to see if that helps.
24. What are we saying. Good sound? Easy fitting? Ale required? Talk to me.
25. I bet you do, it sounds smooth....if a little buzzy when not playing. I put this down to sheilding. I use a GK1001RB head and a hartke 115xl. Its lovely.
