  1. Thanks for your words, in my opinion there are two reasons 1. People cannot play it and hear it beforehand ☺️ 2. Everyone everywhere seems quite low on cash, especially for more expensive instruments 😐 By the way (and I write this thinking I might help someone), I tried solving my problem with the bass, since I really like how it sounds and plays for my left hand. I installed a quickly made hand made wooden ramp between the two pickups reaching only under the e string, so I can anchor my thumb while playing the e string, since one reason of my problem was that I didn't like resting my thumb atop the jazz bass pickups positions so as to pluck the strings at my desired place along their length(ideally my thumb mostly rests between them). It seems to work well, and I will probably replace it with a full plexiglas ramp. The other thing I'm about to do is replace the bridge with a ken smith original bridge I have sitting(high mass) since it has the same holes as the badass, and is 19mm instead of 20mm since I believe this will also help my aching right hand. So as of now the bass is temporarily withdrawn until I see if this does the trick for me, where I will permanently withdraw the listing.
  2. Very nice playing and sounding yamaha trb ii 4. Made in Japan quality, very good condition, everything's working as it should and only one blemish, some paint missing next to the back strap button as can be seen in one photo which due to location you almost never see it. I had two of those when I was in the honeymoon phase, and I sold first the other one since I preferred this one more (played better and sounded better in my opinion) despite being the heavier one. Speaking of which, the bass weighs at 4.45 kg according to my kitchen scales, so kind of on the heavy side. Quick specs ash body, 35" scale 5 piece maple neck(very comfortable and unusual on the same time for a commercial 4 stringer) which gives great definition and attack to the strings, rosewood board, yamaha branded gotoh tuners(I think), heavy duty brass gotoh bridge (I think) , 3 band electronics with volume/blend, yamaha single coil pickups combined with phantom coils in soapbar housings. I should mention that I will give along with the bass a matching gold hipshot d tuner such as this which I had taken off since I didn't use it. 363 pounds / 400 euros shipped properly packed to EU and UK from Athens Greece. The bass will be available at that price as long as a specific item I'm after is available. more pictures here https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/15TcWbynQBBqzGpKhBI4ehZ5fp9P3_yfZ?usp=sharing
  3. Bump, this bass sounds more akin to a traditional smith, than a jazz bass, or you could say it sounds like a smith with a j flavour.
  4. Bump, this is the equivalent of Fender custom shop quality.
  5. Closest to new(showroom) price https://www.station-musicshop.de/epages/64398533.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/64398533/Products/8483 Also my feedback here
  6. Some info about the sound samples. The bass was not properly matched as far as impedance goes with the interface since it was connected to the mic input(instead of the line input) which I noticed afterwards. (huge difference in volume pot taper) The pickups were too close to the strings giving a hotter sound with less treble. The strings were elixir nickels. Meaning it can sound better.
  7. My bass is identical to this, only the color is different and it sounds at least as good
  8. Bump, price drop to 1150 pounds shipped to EU and UK. Also an audio sample has been added to the above dropbox folder. The bass is recorded straight through my cheap audio interface to my pc, with no processing whatsoever, no eq or compression(you can hear this in the slap part) except from some limiting for mixing purposes. Please excuse my playing.
  9. Thanks. It trully is very nice and very even sounding all over the fretboard. The higher register is especially full and sweet sounding while the lower is thick and growly. It can do both jazz and rock imo. I'll try to record a couple of samples next week.
  10. Roy just bought an Skjoldslayer from me. Prompt payment and communication, and above all great patience since due to covid19 the bass was delayed almost a month. I wouldn't hesitate buying from Roy!
  11. Mint condition and very nice playing and sounding Ken smith Burner 4 from the japan era, circa 1992. You'd be hard pressed to find such a specimen in better condition overall. Ash body Ken smith humbucking jazz pick ups Ken smith 2 band pre with passive option (push pull on volume) 3 piece maple neck, rosewood board 34" scale, 24 frets 3,7 kg Everything works as it should, I'm the second owner. 1300 1150 1050 pounds(only while something that I'm after is available) shipped to EU and UK in its ken smith teardrop hardcase (mint condition also). more pics here https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1XeNpVVC2R51fY3bQ4U2_sfd75j9uG8d7?usp=sharing thank you.
  12. EDIT - 100% original made in the US Suhr bass, you can check talkbass for more info on these, superb jazz basses, top of the line. Got this recently, my first jazz in 15 years of playing:) I love the sound, I love the neck, but long story short, my right hand can't get to terms with the offset jazz bass body. And my wrist has started aching in the seated position. It is honestly a heck of a jazz bass, at least on par with us sadowsky and lull.(not my opinion, but from a couple of friends with such instruments and experience). EDIT - Amazing sound on this, sustain, warmth, definition, attack, growl, punch, you name it. No discernible usual fender dead spots. Alder body quilted maple top one piece maple neck and fretboard 20mm bridge string spacing, 38mm nut Slim neck front to back, very nice suhr single coils suhr electronics (bass, mid, treble) volume/volume(pull for passive) - no passive tone, you have to lower the volumes for decreased treble response. badass bridge 4 kg mint condition balances perfectly seated and standing. 1990 pounds shipped to EU and UK. It comes with it's mint violin hard case. more images here https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-W53C-hh5XY2AkuenyJsE7C5_nQNVLwv?usp=sharing thank you.
  13. Sold my yamaha trb II to Steve. Steve is the guy! Prompt payment and communication. Deal with confidence, and sorry Steve for taking two months to leave a comment here, damn covid19, it had totally slipped my mind!
  14. SOLD and on it's way to Ireland! Thanks everyone!
  15. Since I thought that this bass was a japanese made prestige(thought all prestiges were like that) and never bothered even reading the "made in korea" printed on the back of the headstock(as the kind gentleman rightly pointed out above), I will discount it even more, 390 pounds shipped to eu and uk. @claustra Yes it does feel pretty nice. I actually had this along with a japanese made grooveline Ibanez, and never thought that it was subpar in any way. I actually decided to sell the grooveline and keep the sr-1000. But now this must go too.
  16. Wow, thanks for that man, feel kind of embarassed..:)
  17. Bump. Lets try 410£ shipped(and this will be final), stupidly low price, but it's sitting in it's case.
  18. Price drop at 1999 pounds. A few sound samples available for anyone really interested. I will also be unable to ship until next Monday. Cheers.
  19. Thank you! It's rather stunning indeed, and workmanship is trully second to none. For anyone interested, you can check the countless skjold megathreads on talkbass. Some facts I bought it recently from its original owner(a rather impulse buy to try something trully high end). The bass was built in 2013(as part of a payment), and was not played since. It has zero neck dive on the lap or hanging on a strap. It's that kind of bass that gets magically as low an action as you can imagine without buzzing anywhere on the neck and with minimal adjustments. It also seems extremely stable and the truss rod is easily the easiest and smoothest turning I've ever encountered - I really don't know how he's done it. It feels like a supercar in my hands, and that's the reason I'm thinking of letting it go, too much bass for me and my skill set, I prefer something a little bit more tamed sort of. It's sound is really powerful, either passive or active courtesy of the custom skjold pickups. As it was described to me, really versatile, but rather more rock than jazz. It also has the cleanest and punchiest dub/reggae sound I have heard. The clarity of the lower register is phenomenal. It feels extremely responsive in the hands and the harmonics are loud and clear everywhere, as they say they seem to jump of the bass, really rich harmonic content. Here's a couple of samples from people who actually know what to do with it Will entertain trades(up or down and only 4 strings), and polite offers.
