1. Ditto above !! Spot on gents...
 2. Hats off to the joint winners. Both deserving of the top spot in a month of many contrasting styles....... Next !
 3. How exciting ! As the finish line approaches, it's neck and neck for the top three.
 4. One more to add ....... https://soundcloud.com/nigel-jewell/wave-me-goodbye
 5.
Here we are. My thoughts on the image are quite topical at the moment. What I saw in the image was the fact that the sea swallows things but, given the harrowing images that have been appearing in the media recently, it occurred to me that a lot of what the sea swallows is given up again some time later. The 'giving' here is no gift but a reminder of things lost. https://soundcloud.c.../the-giving-sea
Glad you found a way round that middle part !! I found the whole piece very impressive...good stuff !
 6.
I kind of nailed that impossible guitar part last night by playing it on my seven string bass!! It is not perfect but it is close enough for the exercise and I have mixed it all. I will post it as soon as I can. I did learn a lot about recording this month. Every challenge has it's learning points but this month has been exceptional.
For someone just starting ,(moi ) this gives a lot of encouragement ! The fact it's still a challenge for the 'old hands', really helps, Especially this month, as I have great ideas in me head but not the ability to play them or re-create them !! And Dad, the fact at least 10 -15 people hear it is a bonus in itself
 7. "It might be easier to get some help now I have a pedigree " I take it we're passed the bribary stage ? Must admit to being in the same camp as Bilbo at the moment, which is strange because at first glance I thought it was an excellent choice of picture, especially for an ol' matelot !! Got on the guitar an came up with the theme tune to an old 60's program
 8. Congratulations Mr Lurksalot, a worthy winner indeed. A close competition all the way to the end and enjoyable listening. Picture please...!
 9. My three are in.... had to listen to them all 5 or 6 times this month, thoroughly enjoyable Well done all. It's going to be a close run thing................
 10. Also done...and for the first time there are no vocals https://soundcloud.com/nigel-jewell/lingkaran-kehidupan-a-calmer-sumatra
 11. lurksalot, on 10 August 2015 - 05:24 PM, said:
Correct, there are NO wild tigers in Africa.
I guess the tiger is in fact an Asian tiger of one type or another... After checking a few photies ,I've taken it as the Sumatran tiger........and they have webbing between their claws.....so wicket-keeping is always an option !!!
 12.
Boats! They use boats. Look, proof: Explains the bhodran and my planned berimbau. Although they apparently detest bagpipes. Just saying, in case...
If we're having Sumatran tigers going by boat to Brazil and playing Irish drums, then the next evolutionary step for them must surely be bagpipes ? ............................!!
 13.
Made a good start last night. Written a skeleton piece that needs fleshing out. Layers; I need layers.
Glad someones got going... Although a superb photo I appear to have nowt !! Mrs J did come up with an idea........."Tarquin the tiger leaves his worries behind and has a beach holiday"... but after I pointed out that it was rather similar to "Derek the deaf donkey" , we abandoned the idea............or could it all be the start of a concept album where all the animals end up at the beach somehow ? Mr Kipling did something similar with the "Just so " stories...but he had his wonderful cake making business to fall back on.........
 14.
Not until the fat lady sings. Besides, I haven't voted yet!
It certainly looks a good bet now !! And what a good shout having the single playlist on soundcloud.....a really enjoyable hour of different styles,,,thanks all
 15.
Sorry, but I really won't get these finished for the week-end. I might have a go later, when I'm back up to scratch. I don't want to do a lesser or rushed job on the fine pieces yet to cover; they deserve better. Back later...
Shame,, I enjoy listening to all entries and then reading your reviews,,,,,sterling work as always !
 16. Is there a prize for the month's most prolific ?
 17. Links and photo sorted now.......been a long day !!

 19. Found this a real struggle this month .....great photo but couldn't get the sound and ideas in me 'ead into the piece Despite that, still enjoying the learning curve.............sometimes !! Also can't get windows 8 to open my saved photo image......any ideas ? Nige
 20.
An offered explanation can be found here...
Made me chuckle.........
 21. All these people "throwing away" decent pieces and I've got naff all Unlike the first two, where the ideas came quick and (obviously allowing for lack of playing ability) came out almost as hoped....there be nowt at the moment...... Although I do have a working (mmm!) title......."Matching sky andherbriefs "....
 22.
is it wrong that the mismatching underwear is throwing my mojo off?
A euphemism I've not heard before?
 23. Interesting photo, she obviously has a matching set at home.......
 24. Congratulations Skol ! I enjoyed listening to them all and it was pretty close in the end...... For what it's worth, I did notice a sharp increase in plays on soundcloud just after Dad3353's excellent reviews came up....(they are class )
Well done Skol. I can't help thinking, that if Bilbo had added three extra semi quavers to his 13/8 composition, that he might have got three extra votes needed for victory.
Made me smile......
 25.
Good day, all... All of the compositions can be heard here... June Composition Challenge - VOTING! ... and the 'Play of the Day' here ... 'Shouting Heads To Bed', from fingers211 Until then... Have a nice day Douglas
Thank you for the kind words, sir Can I take it in to "show and tell " ? !!! Nige
