3.
This thinking would suggest that the butterflies should be facing the rear of the ship , it is all well and good making up these fantasy type images but the artists should at least apply some physics to give the idea some credence
They realised that the ship is actually reversing back to shore.....to pick up the thin people I've got 12 hours to either compose a piece or get ready for the airport..........I wish you all a happy month and I look forward to the weird and wacky stuff on my return.... nige
4. Congrats to both winners...a fitting end to the year ! At least I voted for both winners........ Happy New Year to you all .... Nige
5. That was a real toughie...had to borrow the "Strictly" scoring method for the last 8 !! I'd fancy that collection on an albun for the flight to the 'land of the long white cloud' on Saturday Very well done all...... Nige

12.
He only thinks its OK and asked if his outfit could learn it and play it at the club .... gobsmacked isn't even close
That's hooty ! I can see a guest appearance as lead vocalist beckoning
13. We're doing 8-9, then it'll be a few sherberts, wait for the cannons and party !! Should be a blast... !
14. hello all, I've been asked to collate some of my 'competition' entries onto audio cd, (some people have no taste !). Are all audio cd's similar or is there an accepted brand leader in quality? I was going to render from Reaper in WAV format, but any advice welcome. Nige
15. Despite the panning from the critics ( ) last month, I got another one ! Had this thought that there was a Germanic fairy tale about an evil commander who was put under a spell by a white witch. His arms, legs and torso are still alive and kicking underground, but his head has been stumped. Alas, I could find no such tale....so I made one up ! https://soundcloud.com/nigel-jewell/die-geschichte-von-hildegarde-und-godomar-a-german-fairty-tale
16. Aah.. I see the concept album has got it's grip on you...the eau de vie is working well !!
17.
Shades of 'A Walk In The Black Forest' coming up, eh..?
Oh yes !! Remember it on 'Family Favourites!
18.
never mind the mundane details..! )
I'll take that advice.. Soon as I saw the picture I've had "East German fairy tail" in my head. But after some research it appears I am very much mistaken So with your advice I'll make up my own 'traditional' tale.....!
19. Breath baited ! and congratulations for a worthy winner.............
20. Thank you for taking the time and 'bother' , very much appreciated.....
21. https://soundcloud.com/nigel-jewell/journey-of-dreams-remix-for-dad You are indeed correct Dad. By dropping the "bothering" back into the mix it relieves the 'drip, drip water torture treatment' of the original !! Also creates more space.....hope you agree !!
22. ... and this 'Play of the Day' here … 'Journey Of Dreams ', from fingers211 ...
Good day, all... Here is my own, personal, view of the compositions presented in the monthly BC Composition Challenge, in randomly chosen order. I hope that at least some of you may be inspired to give the pieces a listen, and perhaps vote for your 3 favourites. All of them can be heard here... October Composition Challenge Voting ... and this 'Play of the Day' here … 'Journey Of Dreams ', from fingers211 ... Disclaimer: My apologies in advance to the composer, as parts of this may come across as unduly harsh. I have respect for his work, and these are merely my idle thoughts on this particular piece, unfortunately coloured by an uncomfortable coincidence. As an insect or lobster, this piece is structured with an exoskeletal arpeggio which masks a softer, more complex interior, however, to the detriment of the latter. There is much detail introduced throughout the voyage but, also as an insect, we are unable to swat away the insistent 5/4. Luckily, we learn from Wikipedia that the substance from which such a shell is made (see *...) is also that of the scales of a butterfly's wing, giving shine, brilliance and iridescence when viewed in a good light. Once one chooses to ignore the botheration, there are fine jewels in there. No qualms with the execution, nor the production in general, but some reservations as to the mixing. My next post in this topic will feature... 'On My Way (feat. The composer agrees with all the above. The whole piece was a battle from start to finish !! I wanted to try something different to my usual guitar/vocal efforts, but ended in a deep hole upside down !!
23. Here's my effort. https://soundcloud.com/nigel-jewell/journey-of-dreams Went for a change of direction this month and I found it very frustrating !! Was meant to be uplifting but I couldn't help but notice the black cloud !! Really not sure about it but I've learnt a lot more about Reaper !!
