Bump for a stunning bass!!
-
Don't tempt me with your bass of fenderness!!
-
Gorgeous bass!
-
Thanks very much, it was a blast and thoroughly enjoyed even the odd few bummed notes lol!!
Glad you enjoyed it also :-) -
Cheers guys, it's at Sanctuary!
-
Tonight is my first gig with Food Fighterz tonight, nerves are high as I have 25 songs to remember and play.
I've have gone through them as much as I can at home and due to one thing or another we've only managed two rehearsals together as we all live quite far away from each other but I am looking forward to it and there's nothing quite like a baptism of fire right? Haha!!
Hopefully with some advice received on bass head eq suggestions from fellow basschatters I can get a sound I can work with. -
I've only had the abm and mag line which didn't thrill me.
-
I think I'm either just having trouble coaxing a tight clear useable sound from it, I've had Ashdown gear before and have never been blown away by it.
Nates clean bass sound is what I'm after in that vid, but Ashdown don't seem to compliment my playing, the other issue is I either can get the cut and loose the largeness in the sound or the opposite which looses the cut.
Part of me wonders if I should've got an svt 3 pro.... -
Cheers for the suggestions guys, will try out eq suggestion Lozz.
I'm going to try the next couple of gigs with it and see if I can bond with it -
Ashdown 6x10 and Nate Mendel p bass, I even tried it with a Markbass 4x10 and had the same issues
-
Hi guys, I'm struggling to get a good sound with this head. I play in a Foo fighters tribute band and can't get it to sound right. I've played with eq etc but feels growly and loose.
Any hints or ideas.....kinda feeling like I should've bought an Ampeg :-/ -
Been browsing through this post and I use a th500 through a rm610t (white cones) and it's absolutely stellar, I was worried about the cab but I have no regrets especially as it weighs the same as a 410 but with more oomph
-
Where are you based?
-
I first learnt on a peavey milestone 1 Jazz Bass which has a lovely skinny v neck. Great bass and that was when I was 9.
-
Where were you 2 weeks ago? This would've been perfect lol! Time to get the overtime in at work
-
I tried both when I went to buy a new head and the Aguilar to me had a certain something from the get go that I really liked...its a wolf in Sherpa clothing.
-
Cheers Lewis, even better that the cab only weighs 37kg!
Sounds huge and thunderous :-) -

Thanks for everything guys, I've got all my gear sorted and its mega! -
Cheers Lozz it ticks most of the boxes, we'll just have to see how it sounds with a tone hammer through it.

I used to be in a band with this guy when I was younger, he's harmless enough.
His grammar etc is terrible but a good musician and songwriter.
Just typical London indie band poser rock really.
His band go under the name dumbjaw -
Excuse my terrible grammer, I think I shall be opting for the rm610 evo thanks to Lee being really helpful and patient with my questions plus being 37kg in weight it'll be alot easier to cart around than 2 ashdown ABM 410 cabs which both weigh the same each.
-
I did ask but they got sold 2 weeks ago
-
Tbh I love the sound of an 810 but don't like the hassle of it, which bought me to the conclusion of a pair of 410 especially as I can buy a pair of ABM new for £680 all in.
Then there's the make, I've always been an ampeg fan with their cabs and have always been on the fence with ashdown on their mag series cabs but I haven't tried the ABM ones.
Then toyed with thought of maybe a 610 which is in between and I can get either the 8x8 or markbass for around £500. -
And also have just been offered an ampeg 8x8 svt cab. All private sales
