  1. Bump £775 is a bargain Go on treat yourself Jack
  2. Bump I'll be in the Stroud area next week if there's anyone up that neck of the woods. Cheers Jack
  3. Bump £800 with gig bag and/or an old hard case.
  4. This Stingray is 21 years old today! And still looking good! Bump
  5. Musicman Stingray, 3eq, trans red, rosewood fingerboard. The date of birth for this bass is October 27th 1994. Body and neck in fine condition, neck smooth and free from dents, minimal fret wear, body has only a few very small dings but no paint/varnish missing. The trans red colour is a warmer more mellow shade than the newer Stingrays. Basses of this era have the six bolt neck, metal battery cover and the "flea" bridge which I believe was fitted between '92 and '94. All mutes are present and correct. Comes with gig bag. I'm based in Dorset but willing to travel ~ couple of hours if need be. Reason for selling, I have a 1988 Black,Black maple stingray which will do me fine. Not looking for trades, bass collection is at optimum level and I just got my first Markbass combo. Any questions? Just ask. Cheers Jack
  6. The only way is to try a few out. I would personally go for a Musicman if I had the cash. However, I've never tried the subs or olps. Despite my complete lack of skill I have owned a few and found that there is quite a difference between the 2 and 3 eq models. I much prefer my 2eq 1988 (sound, general feel etc.) to a 2000 3eq model I had (it sounded good but felt a bit sterile). I just got a 1994 3eq which sounds great and has some of the older features e.g. "Flea" bridge with mutes, metal battery cover but it doesn't seem to have that "thing" compared to my '88 although I need to persevere. If you ever pass by Dorset you are more than welcome to try them out.
  7. I am going to withdraw this bass, it's been on for over a year so it's not going to sell. I thought £700 was too cheap and I don't want to see it go for that. Cheers Jack
  8. No sound samples available. Sounds good to me though. Especially if someone who actually can play gets on it!
  9. I found out that Fender sell packs of 24 for £6.30. That's too many I reckon, more for the guitar repair workshop. But, luckily someone at Fender UK will send me one for nothing. Thumbs up for Fender! Jack

  11. just done a trade with Chris, good chap, friendly and easy to deal with. We even agreed on a 7 day cooling off for the trade to cover us both.
  12. Thanks Paul, glad you're happy. Jack
  13. Update. My mate bought a Laney for a tenner. He says it's ok. It cost him £100 to get playing again: bass £80, amp £10, lead £10! Not bad I reckon. Jack
  14. Cheers all, Now looking for an octagonal house!
  15. Cheers. Someone told me that the Rolands have tiny surface mount components so if they go wrong they can't be repaired. Mid you that might be the case for most new amps.
  16. Perhaps not too flashy but he paid me £80 for the bass (bargain!) so I would guess he would want to pay similar for an amp. He just asked me about Laney amps (HC50), are they any good? What about Orange, fender, Roland cubes? Apologies if this is a bit vague,
