1. Hey Dan, think I deserve a good hour or so of playing on that since I alerted you to the sale All's fair and all..
2. I tried to sell this before but had no luck. Having one last try with a price reduction. Dean Edge Q4(4 string). I have been using this bass for the last three years and it has served me well handling a good range of styles and sounds however im after some Nordstrands to go in my Roscoe so this has to go. specs are as follow: # Quilt Maple Top # Basswood Body # Grover Tuners # Black Hardware # EMG-HZ Pickups w/ Pre-amp # Bolt-on Maple & Walnut Neck # Rosewood Fingerboard # Dot Inlays # 24 Frets The bass is transparent blue which looks green in some light. It has a very playable neck compared to quite a few more expensive basses and has a comfortable body with good upper fret access. The only bad point of this bass is a dent about 1.5cm in size on the bottom of the bass (not visable from front or back) Looking for £200. Open to offers
3. sorry mate, would normally be something I would go for but need the cash at the moment. cam
4. As promised i've eventually got a few photos of the actual amp.
5. Fair enough, was originally trying to sell it to buy some Nordstrand fatstacks for my Roscoe but i've just bought a set of conga's so it really has to go now. I'll keep you in mind incase you situation changes.
6. Heh yeh I would consider that if you want it back
7. Nice one looks excellent, pity its not a 4 as it's just what i'm looking for. cam
8. I'm selling my WARWICK CL ND 4 combo amp as i'm a typical skint student and as i'm recording direct into my computer when I play I feel there is no point keeping this when its not getting used. It was bought off Crazykiwi for £265 if i remember right and as its just been used in my flat and at a small folk gig, I would like to get around £250 for it. spec: solid State, 150 Watts of RMS, 1x12"Neodymium loudspeaker, HF horn disconnectible, controllers for Gain, bass, Mid Freq., Mid level, Treble and master, switch for Limiter, Low Boost, High Boost and, headphone out, tuner out, LINE out, effect sends and return, XLR DI Overall a good compact and portable amp with a handy wheels and retractable handle. Actual photos at bottom of post.
9. Alright mate guess u liked it then? will have to invite myself round for a wee tune thorugh it! see you tomorrow
10. BUMP I've decided not to sell the ibby now as i've started playing it agian and decided its too good a bass to sell at the price it would sell at just now. Still for sale is the dean and washburn fretted 4 strings. Good basses for the money and ive lowered the prices as I've spotted another bass on here which I need to raise money for fairly soonish. cam
11. Cheers Bassassin and Machines, I had seen a couple like the catalogue ones but just not in this finish. In regards to price I guess it is just down to whatever someone is willing to pay. Its a shame in a way that its not totally original but that was out of my control. I'm guessing that it sounds better with the bart pickup than the stock one and the bass has a nice fretless sound so i'm not too bothered. cam
12. Right i've finally managed to get some photo's of the basses. They're not great but its raining where I am so I cant take any outside with decent light. Also does anyone know anything about the Musician bass? as i've never seen another one like this before, I've only seen versions with t wo pickups and darker wood facing. Any info would be great as i'm trying to find out how much its worth. If anyone wants more detailed pictures just PM me thats no problem. Would also be open to trades on 4 string's with a little money either way. Try me.. cam
13. I have just started a new band with more of a funk orientation so i'm in need of a bass more suiting to the new band. As i'm a poor student etc i need to get rid of most of my gear to fund this so i'm looking at selling three of my basses. First off is a a 1979 Ibanez musician fretless 4 string REMOVED Had a few interested in this bass but i've decided i'm going to keep it, at least until after christmas when things start selling again. Still for sale: The second bass i'm selling is a Dean Edge Q4(4 string). I have been using this bass for the last three years and it has served me well handling a good range of styles and sounds however im after something with ash and maple so this has to go. specs are as follow: # Quilt Maple Top # Basswood Body # Grover Tuners # Black Hardware # EMG-HZ Pickups w/ Pre-amp # Bolt-on Maple & Walnut Neck # Rosewood Fingerboard # Dot Inlays # 24 Frets The bass is transparent blue which looks green in some light. It has the most playable neck i've tried out of quite a few more expensive basses and has a comfortable body with good upper fret access. The only bad point of this bass is a dent about 1.5cm in size on the bottom of the bass (not visable from front or back) where my strap broke and the bass landed on the corner of my amp. Apart from the dent the bass is in good nick has no other issues. I would be looking for about £350 for this although i'm open to offers. PRICE CHANGE- WOULD ACCEPT 300 OR THERE ABOUTS The last bass is a Wasburn xb100 4 string in natural gloss finish. specs: # Mahogany Body # Maple Neck # Rosewood fretboard # Diecast tuners # WB100 pickups This is a good bass which would be ideal for someone new to bass or a defret job or a backup bass. The bass sounds nice and resonant with a good P growl. The neck is somewhere between a P and J shape and plays nice. NEW PRICE 100 QUID. I've just got back from having surgery on my shoulder so have a lot of uni/work to sort out so i will get pics up asap. cheers cam
14. The main bassline in "All your goodies are gone" Parliment. Funking groovy! Most of Marcus miller's lines, especially Bruce Lee and power.
15. Thanks dood that helps quite a bit, i though you would be one of the first to comment on a EMG thread I think im gona give the DC + J a shot since no one else seems to have done it. As you say i can always swap them around or for something else. With your 7 string did you run the two pickups on 18V like EMG recommend? and what preamp, if any do you have with it? I was just wondering how many batteries i might need with a DC + J with 9v preamp. Definetly agree about EMG's, used to have EMG P/J in my old yamaha and i loved the sound of it. cam
16. Anyone on here using a EMG DC at the bridge and a 35J a the the neck? or have any experience playing either of these pickups on a bass? Im going for a musicman bridge pu, jass neck pu style sound and I ideally want to put them through a U Retro preamp, just trying to work out if this setup will work or not? So anyone got any ideas or opionions?
