1. With some regret, I'm putting for some sale my Lakland Darryl Jones. I purchased this from the delightful molan on this forum in February this year and have played it nearly every day since. It's got the most amazing neck I've ever felt on a bass - smooth, silkily and easy to maneuver on. The body is the sparkly Lake Placid Blue colour, the neck has rosewood fretboard with the block inlays as you would expect. However, the best thing about this bass is the weight. It weights only 8.4lb, making easy work for a night's gigging session. In terms of cosmetics, it's pretty good all around, with no major marks to the body. There is slight dent on the neck (pictured below) but nothing else major I can spot. I've used for three gigs this year, and just for rehearsing and recording besides that. As I said, it's got some upgrades. Firstly, the pickups are upgraded to Aeros, which are the originals that Darryl uses in his bass. They have a little more growl and generally more powerful than the standard ones. Secondly, it has a Hipshot D-Tuner. Thirdly, it has a white pearloid pickguard, that was pre-ordered and specially made by Lakland for myself. Fourthly, it has the Lakland leather hard case. It's in beautiful white leather, with only a few marks and scuffs. The reason I'm selling is because I've found a Rickenbacker 3001, something I've always wanted and it will work well as a backup to my 4003. If it was not for this, I would not be selling. It records very well and features on all the tracks of my band's upcoming EP. I'm looking for £650 + P&P or pickup from the North East of England. Shipping is usually around £15 with my trusted carrier. Any questions, let me know. I'm looking for a quick sell, so I can still grab this 3001 from the USA. I'll get some more photos if people would like them. Seb
2. Hey all, I've put my old little Danelectro on eBay as it just doesn't get played anymore now I've got the Rickenbacker. Check it out here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...#ht_1618wt_1040 Any questions, let me know!
3.
Thats a lovely bucket! The Rick looks nice too! Have a bump!
The Bucket is a long story, basically we do an avant-garde cover of Money (That's What I Want), like the 80s Flying Lizards version and it seemed a good idea (at the time of course) to have a bucket with spoons as percussion. It works well, sounds good and everyone in the band thinks I'm mad. He is known as Boris The Blue affectionally! Thanks for all the offers so far but there has been nothing to tempt me yet! Seb
4. I'm debating selling my Rickenbacker, but I'm not fully decided yet. My current band's sound doesn't really suit the Rickenbacker so I'm thinking about selling. It's a 2007 Rickenbacker 4003 in a beautiful blue-burst colour that I purchased for £1,500 only a few months ago. It's got two small dings on the headstock but beyond that, it's is in tip top condition. I've got a casual photo of it but if there is interest, I will post more. I'm open to trades on this one, something along the lines * MusicMan StingRay (maybe pre-EB? not five strings, I love sunburst too!) * Fender Precision Bass (American Vintage?) * Anything cool really! A friend described my band as "an amalgamation of 80's pop ideas into a modern, relevant sound", very pretentious of course so anything that fits 80s synth-pop-new wave-music! I'd be looking for around £1,300 cash too -seb
5. Afternoon everyone, This was a massive impulse buy and one I didn't really need! I've always wanted to try out this short scale baby and see how it would go and won this on an eBay auction last week. It's a fantastic little bass that has more power than you would expect from something so small. It's a standard Fender Mustang Crafted in Japan with serial number S061917 in Fiesta Red with white pearloid pickguard. It's the same colour as the 50s MIM Ps if you have seen one of those. On the whole, the bass is in pretty good condition but does have the odd nick or two that you would expect from a few years of playing. There is one quite large dent in the paintwork (as you can see from the photos) but this doesn't effect playing whatsoever. It's also where I rest my hand while playing so it's unnoticeable 90% of the time too. It's strung with roundwound strings, either Rotosound or Fenders, not too sure. It's string-through and the strings have good action and don't sag or flop as you get with some shortscales. The sound is very powerful, similar to that a Precision but with a bit more trebble and brightness. There is clear definition in all the frets up and down the neck. I've played it several times through my Ashdown stack and it sounds just fantastic. The only reason I'm selling is that I don't need another bass and I didn't think buying through thoroughly I'm offering this for the exact same price I paid - £330 for collection from Durham, North East of England or £350 with postage to anywhere in the UK. That's over £100 than a new Mustang and you are getting a bass that plays well, feels good and sounds fantastic. Any questions, offers or anything, just let me know! I'm not really looking for trades, just a clean sell.

7. And I am very pleased to say the Duck Dunn has found a good home with Linus27, thanks for all the interest! Basschat is once again an excellent resource!
8.
PM'd
Replied - and a bump! This is a fantastic bass if you want the classic P thump with flatwounds or a nice growl with roundwounds. It looks and feels fantastic especially at the price!
9.
Thanks Barrie! Bump here for a lower price - £475. This is really a great bass, everyone who has them has sworn by them. Great sounding, not even a year old. Minus the dent, it's in great condition too. Any offers will be considered
The bass is now on hold for fede162162 Update - the money is received, and the bass is being collected later today so I am very happy to say it is sold to fede162162
10. Right, this the last from my bass sale. This is a 2007 Lakland Duck Dunn Signature Skyline bass in Candy Apple Red. It comes with two pickguards - the lime green one pictured as well as the standard white (both will be included). Currently strung with Rotosound Jazz Bass 77s flatwounds, this has that classic Motown thump you are looking for! With roundwounds, it gives a nice growl modern sound too. I really love this bass but again, I just can't justify having all these wonderful things. It's got a Jazz-style neck (same as on the Darryl Jones signature) that is easy to navigate - I'd go as far to say this is the best bass neck I have ever played - better than my old American Precision, Jazz or StingRay. With the sparkly red finish and blocks, this is one to turn heads. Only ever done one gig last term, and sounded brilliant. Comes with Lakland Deluxe gig bag too (not pictured). Has been setup professionally by guitar technician in Newcastle too. Looking for around £600 and willing to ship as usual. Any questions, just let me know. Update - The neck on the Duck Dunn is that same as that on the Joe Osborn signatuer. Thanks Dave to clearing this up!
11.
Thanks for all the replies, in great Basschat style as usual I've been inundated with offers. The bass is now on hold for Spikyhedgehog, pending money heading into my bank account. It does have a great look and I gave it a play this evening just to make sure I am doing the right thing. It sounds fantastic but I'm too used to the lovely smooth Lakland neck, opposed to the StingRay standard.
The payment has been received and the StingRay is on its way so it's now sold to Spikyhedgehog. Fantastic guy, great communication - would do business again! Seb

13. As part of my clear out, I'm going to pass on my lovely StingRay as I need the cash to thin out the collection. I've loved having this bass but I've managed to get away with just my Darryl Jones so here this one goes. It was previously owned by 'Ghost Rider' and before that, another fellow on this forum. Anyway, this is a rather good example of a 2005 Ernie Ball StingRay 2EQ. I've played it with TI Flats and you get a lovely warm thump but the StingRay growl is still there. The body is in pretty mint condition, with nothing major I could see. Comes with standard Music Man hardcase and strung with Ernie Ball Slinkies. I purchased this just before Christmas for £650 so would quite like to get a similar amount back, but open to offers Any questions, just let me know.
14.
Quick plug to say that Seb is a top man - great to deal with & super efficient in organising trades etc.
Thanks Barrie! 15. Just to say that I am open to offers too, £500 is the sort of price I am looking for
16. Evening all, Making way for a beautiful Lakland Daryl Jones, I'm selling up a few basses and this is the first one on the block. What you are looking at is a 2007 Geddy Lee Jazz Bass, purchased from Sounds Live in Newcastle sometime last summer. I purchased this after having passed on my American Precision. It's stringed with TI Flats and sounds fantastic - with the thin glossed neck and 70s spacing pickups, it's got a unique sound with plenty of punch. It's been my practising bass since then to weekly band practises but has only been a backup for one gig. It's got a small ding on the bottom but that's pretty much it. I've have it with the pickguard off but will white guard will be included. Comes with deluxe Fender gig bag (not pictured but standard). Looking for around £500 - pickup from Durham, UK but happy to post. Will get a quote on request, guessing it will be around £25.00 or so. Not looking for any trades either - let me know any questions. This has been a great bass to me but I'm simply moving up to my dream combo -seb
17.
Bumpy
Sent PM - a seriously interested one!
18. I'm interested in this if your sale falls through! PM me if it does -seb
19.
you have PM
Thanks Muppett! The bass is on hold, I've had a cash offer from another forum member that should be sorted soon. I'll update post when it's sorted. Thanks everyone for their generous offers and messages, good to have so many kind people
20. Here we go - if you want pictures of something else, just let me know! The case is just the standard Fender hard case that all the Americans have with them. Also, throw any offers my way and I'll have think - open to all suggestions really
21. I did a swap on these forums a few months ago and got this lovely beast from a fellow near me. As I said in the title, it's an American Fender, manufactured in 2003 in good condition with one slight dent on the bottom. Apart from that, it's perfect. Currently got some Rotosound 77s flatwounds and it plays like a beauty, ideal for classic Stax or Pink Floyd playing. The body is Butterscotch Blonde with black pick guard, with a maple neck. I'm selling because I've got a new gig and need a Jazz Bass (again) and need this done by the middle of September and will have to take the eBay path if I can't get something sorted. Happy to ship or pickup from Newcastle in the North East. Comes with hard case, cable and yellow/black Fender strap. Looking forward around £450 for this. I'm thinking of going for a Geddy Lee Jazz Bass so I'd be willing to swap for one of these or a similar Jazz. I've got some photos but I'm at work so will upload them later today. PM me if you have any questions.
