Great...do have a look at the light weight cab I got 10 days ago for comparison British hand made. It larger because I wanted to get the full volume recommended by Celestian

Looks like a very nice bit of kit. Very interesting concept.

The AT 112 H would be my choice as it has front port. I have never liked rear ports because they are very position/venue sensitive imo...if you go ahead let us know where you purchased & your opinion

Yes, I think I'm going to go front ported now after a few conversations.

I use a lot of delay/reverb/overdrive/looping pedals live so the ever so slightly larger footprint and .5kg weight increase are not significant enough to warrant the potential problems that can crop up with rear porting.

  3. Hi there @Bill Fitzmaurice - would you be kind enough to tell me which of these two options you would plump for if you had to choose between the two based purely on your knowledge and the information available here?

  4. I found this for anyone else who might be interested in the miniONE.

    http://www.karlclews.com/blog/gear-part-10-gr-bass-mini-one

In summary "...the Mini One performed admirably on the gigs. As a class D head, it’s fine to run it without a cab, so as planned, I simply plugged it directly into the PA. Since then, I’ve used it on a number of local gigs, driving my Epifani UL 410, and the 350 watts it puts out are plenty for most gigs - anything where you need more than 350 watts, you would tend to be putting the bass through the PA in any case. The sound of the Mini One is beautifully transparent - it doesn’t appear to colour the inherent tone of my basses at all, which is exactly how I like my amps to work! In comparison with the Genz Benz Shuttles, the bottom end of the Mini One feels more focused, and the mids are very punchy, so slap and more percussive fingerstyle cut through the mix very well. And the top end is nice and airy, and you really have to dial it way up before it starts to get harsh and brittle. All in all, it’s a fantastic little amp, and the tight, focused bottom end and distinctively punchy mids make it sound much, much bigger than its tiny size and 350 watts..."

  5. There are more options on the GR Bass miniONE compared with the Trace Elliott Elf. I would probably say the miniONE is closer in comparison with an Aguilar TH350 from a specification perspective?

Not the cube, I want the 112 to sit under my 210, it is the correct size

Very nice and makes complete sense yes. With everything considered, I think I’m going to go with the smaller footprint and slightly lighter weight of two CUBES.

Relieved the Aerotec 2x10 sounds good in the living room test. Nice clear deep sound and it's so light. I've got the 4ohm version, so I can compare it with my 2xBF one10's, also 4ohms. Mesa d800 amp. The GR bass cab seems louder than the BF's with same amp settings. The GR is also brighter as you would expect, it has a tweeter. Turns out the tweeter control is 3 position switch, not a variavble L pad as per GR's advertising. Not a problem for me, positions are "off, bright and even brighter). The first "on" position sounds good at home, we'll see when and if gigging resumes. Build quality feels good, although I suspect the plastic corners might not stand up to abuse. Digging into low B string  sounds clean, theOne10 pair breaking up a bit before the GR 2x10. Overall pleased so far. Could be tempted to replace the BF's with a GR aerotec 1x12 at a later date😂

Brilliant to read this. I'm going to proceed with two AT CUBE 112 cabinets.

Where did you buy it from?

But at least his playing is instantly recognisable/distinctive. For my money that's probably the most important asset in a musician. While all these highly technical players are great at what they do I can't tell one apart from the others

I agree - the gazillion notes per second thing is impressive visually but musically, it does nothing for me.
