  1. Agree with the above on the SP212. Had this arrangement in the TB combo I had for a while. Dinky little thing but Christ that thing could shift some air. Be surprised if the performance of the OBC212 was any different.

  2. Suggestions above are bang on. I would suggest finding your way with one method or the other first for a couple of months or so though. There’s plenty to get your head around and get used to generally and flitting from fingerstyle to pick and back again may not be beneficial this early in. Just my thoughts though. Enjoy!

  3. Nowt wrong with Ashdown ‘watts’ in my experience. Have own ABM 1, 3 and 4 heads over time and never struggled for heft. Love TE stuff too but the  continued presence of Ashdown plus their customer service(which is amazing even years down the line on the age of a product) is a huge, huge tick in the box for me...

This is so very true, Bryan is a super approachable guy who is all about the music, and at the top of his game, not the money where Nikki Sixx and Gene Simmons could (and can) barely play their instruments to the point of needing other people to record their albums for them (Phil Chen for instance) or a lot of producer help to even come up with a bassline.

I respect Gene Simmons for his entrepreneurship, not his musicality. Nikki Sixx I respect for overcoming addiction, not his musicality.

I doubt Sixx or Simmons have ever been too bothered about people respecting their musical ability. 200 odd million album sales between the bands gives them a fairly solid reason for not caring too in fairness. Each to their own and all that though obvs...

  5. It was written by a white man of Russian Jewish descent if I remember correctly, so  I don’t think you need to worry about appropriation as such. For a song with such a heavy and inflammatory subject matter I’d be concerned just with what the ‘purpose’ of performing the song is, as for me performing that song has to serve a purpose. Secondary to that I’d be basing it on whether you feel justice is being done to the song and if it fits/works in the context of the rest of the set.

Best of luck with it all.

  6. So many of you lot seem such very lovely, patient, understanding people....

I’m not where band matters go though. For me it’s a tell him straight you’ve no interest in playing someone else’s lines and if that ain’t in agreement with his view, walk. This said, I am a self-diagnosed bolshy git! 🤣

Hope it works out for you, regardless of which approach you decide to take.
