He was offered the 'Stones gig, but couldn't take it as he was committed to Living Colour. But then Vernon folded the band 2 weeks later (ot something), so he could have done it, but by then Darryl had it.
‘95 they folded so closer to two years than two weeks, though yeah if he was offered it (as above, opinions and recollections even from those involved seem to vary somewhat), maybe he’d have made the decision to jump ship had that been known at the time. Who knows? But nah, don’t think he has any issues with Vernon given they’ve all been back together for 25 years now. Either way I’m glad they’re still out there and sounding great, as they have each time I’ve seen them in that time.-

Poor Doug, would have had the 'Stones gig if it wasn't for Vernon. Looks like he hasn't borne a grudge.
Well, it’s more that he could have had the Stones gig had he decided to take it. Not sure that can be put on Vernon? -
I’m so sorry to all of those who knew him. I didn’t, though I would say that it’s clear that Nick left an imprint on a lot of hearts. There’s not a nicer thing that can ever be said in my eyes. I wish nothing but the very best to you all.

As above, card company will sort via a chargeback. They may ask for the evidence (return info, emails, timeline etc) so get that lined up. Should be rather straightforward from there.

Why they don’t just reissue these (without messing about with them) I really don’t know. Bloody lovely.

tacky fake call-girl look
Not that you need me to, but I can’t approach your comment with an open mind like I was able to on the plinth thread.Blimey. What would be acceptable for her to wear? Knee length skirt and a nice twin set? A formal trouser suit perhaps?
If her online presence and fame brings just one person, irrespective of their sex, to the instrument I’d say that was a good thing.
Anyway, to cleanse your eyes, here’s an entirely more appropriately clothed fellow instead. I reckon he shifted a few basses in his time too.

Sorry to hear. Walsall’s only a couple of miles from me. I’m not gigging these days and there’s nowt by way of a scene as such now, unfortunately. There’s both a Cash Converter and Cash Generator and a music shop (TR Music) in the town centre though. Might be worth him reaching out to them to keep their eyes open…

Really orry to read this.
Kinda echo what many others have said, particularly…
a) hard as it is, don’t count yourself out. Super, super early days yet.
b) Sure, bass strings are a way thicker but look at what Django and Iommi achieved even on 6 strings after (and certainly in part even due to) misfortune with their digits.
c) slide bass can be there as an option if (and big if just now) it is needed. If you’re unsure whether this can work as a mainstay with bass, check out Mark Samdman with Morphine. Inspirational.
Heal well and the very best thoughts with you.

Nice one.
Hiw was that Bearded Theory? Someone just yesterday was telling me it was the nicest festival
It really is an absolute belter of a festival. Has the nicest vibe about the place. Very much recommended. At times the conditions underfoot have been horrendous this year but it could’ve been much worse!-

Caught them at Bearded Theory over the weekend and yeah, Perry’s not sounding the best but they were ace anyway. That Avery/Perkins rhythm section is still quite something when they really lock in. Enjoy!

I know MIJ is made in Japan, I assume CIJ is crafted in Japan, does this refer to a specific period of Japanese fenders?
What's JMJ?
From wiki1996/1997: "Crafted in Japan" (CIJ) is used instead of "Made in Japan" (MIJ) Dyna Gakki take over the manufacturing contract from FujiGen Gakki.

There are many, but I try to focus on the positives wherever possible as all of those songs will mean a lot to far more people than will ever give a hoot about owt I ever produce. That said…

I had a fretless one, made in Korea, nice bass actually. Very nice to play, nicely put together, no complaints at all.
However, it does depend on how much money you're talking about. Mine was about a ton and a half if I remember right.
Having taken said bass off Russ’s hands I second his opinion. Decent and perfectly usable for that kind of cash. -
Very sorry to hear your news, Ray.
Echoing the above as well re:BC being the ‘best’ place to sell. The massively reduced number of time wasters here is reason enough for you on its own, I’d say.

I get this. My number 1 bass (a Japanese Fotoflame Precision) was my go to since I bought it in 1994. It’s everything bass should sound like to me. All other basses I bought across 25 years - from Ricks to Jazz basses and even other P basses - came and went as they don’t sound like that bass.
I’ve now been in a two piece bass and drums band now for 4 years or so, and it’s only since doing it, and massively different stuff with my bass tones, that I’m happy (and really, really enjoying) chopping and changing between a bunch of basses. I’m fairly certain though that if I found myself back only in a ‘normal’ band setup I’d revert to just the Fotoflame P, and be a good few quid better off.
