The Stirling I had was very light, not quite 8lbs but it was less than 8.5lbs if I remember correctly. Very nice bass; didn’t quite gel with it long term though.

Would love a Deep 4 or 5 to go with my Mouse and MB2. Yours looks gorgeous! I’ve also considered a Shuker Artist and I also love the Rick Turner Renaissance; I’d be really interested to know your thoughts on how these three great basses compare.

Interesting. What didn't you like about the PUP?
Unfortunately I always found it to have a bit of a “nasal” tone. I had the fretted version.

Had one just like it. Very nice bass, light, very comfortable and well balanced. I love the aesthetic. I wouldn’t rule out having another especially if I could change the piezo system for a different one.

Still got one available. 😉

£300 for one. 😉 (They retail for double that new!) So half price, and near as damn it, good as new. I can also include the lovely cover. 👍

One of the two are now sold, so just one left of these great, lightweight cabs. 😉

Thanks, yes they are really good.

Thanks, yes it’s a nice bass, but looks like I’ve sold it!

beautiful Sterling StingRay5 Bass Guitar. Condition is A1, good as new. Everything works as it should and I love the “Tobacco” sunburst colour. I brought it new around October 2019 for a new band which didn’t take off, so now this beauty is surplus to requirements. But it’s a great bass and quite light for a 5 string bass at 9.4lbs

Love my Rob Allens, I’ve got a fretted Mouse5 (best sound, but sooo small) and the MB2 (known as the Rat!😉) 4 string, which has a lighter sound, but still very good and gets more play as it’s larger size suits my 6”6’ frame. Both are excellent. I’d love to get a Deep4 or 5 as well though!

I thought VW was pretty good, but I also though Julia did a great job. What a cool, intelligent and genuine person. Obviously loves what she does and is a great bass player as well.

This has got to be the same “Cardiacs” I saw live in local pubs around 1980/81. I thought they were fantastic and just thought they were a local band. I always wondered what happened to them. RIP

Thanks. I’ll have a look

Love these. Mine seems to have risen to the top of my pile as number 1 go to; not bad as I have about 15 other basses! GLWTS

Yeah, I’ve got the same model. Very good basses IMHO. GLWTS.

I played the Mex Deluxe Precision and really liked it. I ended up buying the USA Elite Precision at £1,000 more (I was flush at the time and had never owned a USA bass before). It's a lovely bass but not really any better than the Mex version. Both are great and incredibly versatile.
I tried both elite and mex deluxe jazz basses. I went for the mex as couldn’t justify price difference for two very similar sounding/feeling basses. Although the finish was nicer on the US, the sound was only slightly better. Still want the US version though in that “Texas Tea” colour!

Jet Harris was a great bass player. The bass lines on the early Shadows tunes have a lot more to them then people realise. I agree, underrated.
