  1. I Sold Doug a pedal and he paid instantly and his communication was great

Sadly the courier lost the pedal but Doug was really patient in waiting but sadly it did not arrive he even offered to go halfs on the loss  all I can say is that he is a real diamond geezer and a credit to the forum a proper good egg

    Cheers mate :)

My best BD experience was when I had a bass with them on a comission sale.

Long time went by, it clearly wasn't going to sell any time soon, and I needed the cash and it gone.

I rang them to withdraw it, and pay whatever to have it sent back.

Whilst I was talking to the assistant about it (he was great), Mark clearly overheard our conversation.  He took the phone from the assistant,  and proceeded to give me a right old telling off/tongue lashing for withdrawing the bass!

I kept polite, as I obviously just wanted it back. He eventually put his assistant back on, and it was sorted. He couldn't apologise enough, clearly quite shocked as well at the behavior of his boss.

Must have been having a bad day......!

Think that's pretty normal I had some dealing Many years ago and would not give him a penny of my money

I'm ignorant enough to be deserving of a much more patronising answer than that. Brighter all the time? Or simply less darkening when turning the tone?

I'm about to change from Fender nickel-plated strings to Pro Steels, which I'm expecting to make a big difference to the brightness, amongst other things. Relative to that, would a change of pot and/or cap make only a minor difference?

I'm going to be interested to see what's left of the Pro Steels tonal balance when the tone knob is turned right down. ATM, I don't find that setting much use.

Wow was only trying to help

  4. Wow I forgot to leave feedback 😮

Chris bought a psu from me and it was a fantastic transaction no drama no hassle he just contacted me poliety asked to buy my item and paid doesn't get any better than that

    Cheers mate 👍

Yeah, maybe I should lighten up! Slap bass noodling in music shops is a bit of a cliche. Still, not the choicest use of words.

Mind you it's very common to hear that said about the virtuoso kind of players and always makes me giggle lol

Doesn't look like it's going to be hard at all this year.

Went into GAK and saw the most basses in the flesh that I've seen in one place for a while.

And was utterly unmoved to the point that I didn't even touch any of them.

None of them appealed to  me at all.

If something on my bass hit list turns up, then maybe I'll buy another, but I don't need anything else except strings and to fix the bloody Warwick and its stupid tuners and exploding JAN II.

I'm not Wile.E. Coyote, and they're not ACME, so why have 5 tuners and a nut all gone bang in less than a month?

Poor quality on an expensive bass sadly it happens

  7. Matt bought a pedal from me and the paid straight away and his communication was great most of all he was really patient as the courier was really slow delivering his parcel

He's a nice chap deal with matt in confidence

    Hello Mods,

I placed an ad in the Amps and Cabs for Sale section yesterday and It is coming up as "pending approval" - I presume it's not visible to other Basschatters yet.

Just wondered how long the approval process takes on average or whether there is an issue with the ad itself?

    Thanks in advance.

    Karl

I think it just depends when the appropriate mod see it and no others cant see the ad

  9. I agree with everything said my two pence worth is pedals that have too many knobs and switches some that really are not needed and they make the pedals so overcomplicated to use you need a bloody degree (Im talking about you some multi FX pedals)

I just want to plug itin tweak as little as possible and use the thing

Is that what cross-sticking is then?

One of my bands a number of years ago folded as the guitarist moved away. The drummer however, kept going to rehearsals until his wife found messages on his phone. He was doing a very different sort of pounding....

Hope it wasn't a rim shot lol
