I think a lot depends on the bass they are going on
I am not a flatwound user I have tried a couple of sets the cheap adagio brand and fender flats the latter were much better
The only way to tell if they bring anything new to the game is to try them out
I use rounds as I just think they sound better on my short scale basses than flats do I know the majority use flats on shortscale basses and they sound great when other people use them but they just don't work for me

If I was in your position I would be looking for another band as it never ends well when relations are in the band as they stick together on votes etc etc etc it never works fairly as you and the drummer will always be outvoted with various band issues and in turn this will turn toxic and make you unhappy
I'm hope I'm wrong but sadly I've seen said scenario too many times

If this said fender /Gibson etc on the headstock there would be a 1 in front of the 350 price

I don't like it when someone says to turn a screw, knob, key or other rotational device to the right or left.
I always say clockwise or anticlockwise

I only hear the terms front and rear pickup in English, elsewhere it's neck, bridge or central (sometimes mid) pickup.
Why not simply use this instead of confusing everybody.
You could also use the terms close and far which are as useless...
For the strings, there's also the confusion between going up and down the neck, lots of people are saying the opposite of what they are doing.
Notes are going from low to high, and it's written in stone (no need to argue here), so you have to use the same wording when naming your movement or placement.
According to this, the bottom string is the lowest and when going down the neck you are playing lower notes.
And don't forget those manufacturers reversing the controls on a preamp, going from high to low, which is also very confusing.
But people always find it hype to use their own different wording, that's how human beings are.
The question is : Are you counting from 1 to 10 or doing what is called a countdown ?
Oh so true its a nightmare lol

Seeking the opinion of the BC masses here
I do a fair bit of work on peoples basses but people always seem to have a different idea of which is the front and rear pickup on a standard 2 pickup bass, I always call the bridge pickup rear but when checking with people what they require doing I always say neck or bridge it just seems easier so what say you all?

I only use fender instrument leads they’ve served me well for years
Just recently switched to these and I'm very pleased
I used to make my own up but it's not much cheaper nowadays if you use decent parts plus I really can't be bothered lol

Very poor customer service from Bassdirect today, Last night I bought Fender Mark Hoppus for £499 + £10 shipping by PP this morning About 9am I received a refund which I knew I might because multiple people might buy before it’s took down on the site, but no covering email at all and the bass is back up for sale at £750.
A bit of common courtesy for a long standing customer would have been in order.
I've heard very similar stories from a few people who know in real life and on this very forum
