Celinder Update 4 String Jazz Bass **Price Drop** now £2600

The most sought after muff for bassists. Absolutely seismic sound. In excellent condition compared to many that you see around. Comes with box pictured and original battery cover (nearly always missing) plus a better fitting 3D printed replacement. Come and try it in York if you think you’re man enough.

You’re looking at the classic! This one was bought from Soundgas Ltd who specialise in servicing and repairing vintage analogue studio gear. They calibrated and serviced the pedal and fitted it with a custom UK power supply and a true bypass. The pedal is in great condition and sounds amazing. Why am I selling it then? Believe it or not, I actually find the digital reissue suits my bass better and frankly I could use the cash since wife’s redundancy. I don’t think you’ll find a better example in the UK. You’re welcome to come and play it in York. Cheers

😊 Thanks Rich, the bass pre-dates the racing stripe 'competition' mustangs so I had them on the strap instead. I actually switched the strap in the pic for a slightly wider one but the same colour. They're really nice straps!

Yeah it’s exactly right, quite surprised as the red of my bass is actually quite dark. I’ll bookmark the ones you have just in case I ever buy a JMJ! I think RightOn do a blue one which might match, too. I live a matching strap but also cannot do a strap that clashes. Hence I normally go for black. I think this red one is the first coloured one I’ve had for ages!

I just got this back from Soundgas who have converted it to true bypass, if that counts? @MM Stingray 62 interested to hear how you're getting on with the Haz Mutron. The two compare very closely, I reckon the Musitroncs has the edge in down mode and perhaps has a juicier treble range, but the Haz has(!) some great features as standard (like true bypass) and has a slightly quicker attack, I think. I love them both.

Yeah it really nails the tone

Intonation screw and spring....mustang bass
ped replied to martthebass's topic in Repairs and Technical
Just to confirm that the required screws are 6-32 UNC. I've got 2" on the E and A, and 2.5" on the D and G. -

I decided 30” scale was a bit too much for me, so I’ve had a 30cm scale made instead -
Love it, what a thoughtful gift 🎁 👍🏼

I came across Washington Miniaturas on Instagram and had my own mini bass made. Great comms with the guy who makes them, it took a couple of weeks and only cost about £120. It’s about 30cm long and even comes with a cute little stand!! I highly recommend him if you’re looking for a miniature version of your own bass (I mean, who isn’t?). Check out his work on Instagram, they’re brilliant.

I like that BC acts as a standard. If someone is prepared to pay for a listing here, then the same item on another platform immediately has credibility. I've seen people list items and include a link to the BC advert too. Same thing to a lesser extent if there's a listing on Reverb/eBay although for those you don't pay upfront, so not quite as safe...

Every time I see this thread title I think it says "Which compressors are dead to you" I've been on Basschat too long.

Intonation screw and spring....mustang bass
ped replied to martthebass's topic in Repairs and Technical
Hi guys, I'm looking for some spare screws for my Mustang bass saddles. I must admit the different ways of measuring screws make my head spin, but basically I want some longer than standard to give me some wiggle room when downturning. Assuming the 60's saddles are the same thread as newer USA models, I wondered if anyone can point me in the right direction?? -
Only if it no longer plays well. I’ve had basses with frets like that which have played perfectly so I didn't touch them.

The Short Scale Bass Appreciation Society!
ped replied to Baloney Balderdash's topic in Bass Guitars
I recently bought some new strings to replace the Elixir 45-100 rounds that I'm using on my Mustang. I play in drop D and found to my surprise that this works really well despite the short scale and relatively light strings. However I ordered the wrong set, instead of nickel 45-100 I bought Stainless Steel 45-105, so near enough. Strung them up earlier, including giving the fingerbard a bit of Planet Waves Hydrate fluid, and you know what, they're great. I have never been able to use heavier strings on long scale basses as I go so used to a .40 G string and love the lower tension, but going down to 30" the .45 G makes sense and feels fine, more familiar now specially since the 'Stang has been my go to for a while now. The tighter D string is noticeable, and the SS strings have a bit more top end and I think a less focused midrange, which suits the bass well because it's naturally mid punchy. It means using both pickups in jazz bass mode sounds a little deeper. So all in all, happy accident. Reckon I'll use these again next time (which IME will be about a year, more because I think I should rather than them needing it!) -
Hi there thanks for joining. I’ve been tempted to buy the original Funk Machine pedal out of curiosity. Can you tell us a little about what it does? I’m assuming a band pass filter with depth control (and therefore perhaps not optimal on bass?)
