  1. I used to have the original Terror 500 head as well, it was a great amp and very loud with the cab,but I moved it on a couple of years ago. I find that the cab sounds a bit muffled when the distortion is on from the Darkglass amp, so I have ordered a Darkglass Microtubes combo which is arriving this week. Due to random website pricing it was about £300 cheaper to buy the 2x10 combo than it was to buy a 2x10 cab.
  2. I played with The Paper Castles at Market House in Maidstone on Friday for valentines. The gig went pretty well, its the best local venue to play at in my opinion and it was busy. Ive been playing with these guys since September and now settled in with the setlist etc. Im now in two bands, as my other band doesn’t gig too much I managed to join this second band. However it’s quickly turning into number one band as it has a lot more gigs. We played a softer mix of dance, pop and rock ( 3 piece band), which is a nice contrast to the full on heavy rock of the other band (4 piece). Im getting some good use out of my Tech 21 Steve Harris pedal, as this band is softer I don’t need the heavy distortion from my Darkglass Alpha Omega amp. I’ve also been getting good use out of my 5 String Ibanez, as the extra string is helping with the more dance oriented songs. A good night all in all, albeit didn’t get home until 1.30 Rubbish picture of rig attached!
  3. Good news, it is a bit cheaper than the first edition as well. i had one and sold it, and then regretted selling it so I might grab another one.
  4. I don’t think I ever did register the warranty. I’ve had it since they were released so I would think any warranty would have expired anyways
  5. It’s just the unit on its own, not daisy chained to anything. I noticed it with a new active bass, need to try it with my old bass and see if that is the problem. as an aside I keep looking at getting the Tech 21 fly rig. I need a few FX in my band but haven’t got the patience for a big digital multi FX unit
  6. I love mine and use it all the time. I’ve started to notice that it doesn’t fully mute when I user the tuner though, which is annoying. It’s not the note from the bass coming through, more like a weird pulsing noise.
  7. Hoping to get a ticket for this. Also was at the reunion shows in ‘97. I was 17 then and now feeling old!
  8. There’s also the Roland Boss shop near Tottenham Court Road station. I’ve been in there before and heard them talking to customers on the phone.
  9. They already had them when I joined, however I think they were from Temu and £13 each from what they said. They have different colour settings, and powered by USB - C and are very effective, but they are very flimsy and lightweight. We use something similar in my other band, but usually have them round the drum kit, as seen in this picture.
  10. 1st gig of the year for me (and first in about a month) at The Duke Of Edinburgh in Maidstone. Nice venue and friendly staff etc. we had a decent space to play, it was a bit quite which we put down to the time of year, but those who were there enjoyed it. I am now used to playing my 5 string (after 30 years of playing 4 strings). The landlord booked us for a summer outdoor event, so that was a big positive.
  11. I was looking to order a V7 from Andertons and they said it would take 6 months as it would be made to order, and then sent to the UK on a very slow boat!
  12. Went to see Culture Club at the O2 last night. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I thought it was very good. it was my wife’s choice to go (I had to go with her after all the times I’ve made her come and see Iron Maiden with me lol) it was a good production and Boy George was in good voice. Mikey Craig was playing a nice 5 string Fender Jazz, the bass was very prominent in the mix and I enjoyed listening to that.
  13. I bought an Ibanez SRMS625EX in the summer which had 5 strings and fanned frets. I had never played a 5 string or fanned frets before. I got used to the fanned frets straight away but it had taken me longer to get used to the extra string, but now I have, I love the bass and the frets
  14. Same. I also adjust the amp volume in the app if needs be as well
  15. I have a Boss Katana Go which I love. You can stream your phone too it and play along through the headphones. they got discontinued but plenty on eBay etc
  16. I think this would have been Vox, Dartford museum has a small display about Vox in it.
  17. I picked up a Line 6 HX One recently, and the Clawthorne Drive on there is really good, as is the copy of the B3K.
  18. I got two sets 4 years apart and the newer pair seemed twice the size of the old pair! I did query it with ACS but they said my ears had just changed shape!
  19. ACS custom all the way. I’ve been using the Pro 26s for years, as like you am struggling with hearing loss and tinnitus. once you are used to them you will never want to play with out them. I had to wear them went I went to see AC/DC the other week as that was also deafening! have a search around as you can usually find a voucher code for 10 or 15% off
  20. I have the AO 500 amp, and I am pretty sure you can use the cab sim on the headphone amp for that. I’d have to check to be sure. As an aside, I ended up buying a Katana Go for my practice solution and it’s awesome. I was going to get a B7k ultra V2 but got the katana go instead. The Bluetooth playback and minimal amount of cables is great.
  21. It does - just. Need to have it at a funny angle to do so, but it does fit. I picked one up at the weekend, first impressions are that it sounds great but seems a bit flimsy. I am worried about putting it in the Ibanez at the funny angle, that it will eventually snap. it goes into my jazz bass special and Ibanez guitar ok though
  22. A low point for me in an old band was having to play Hurt by Johnny Cash which is about as depressing as it gets! Definitely not suited to a pub rock cover band!
  23. Nice! how do you find the neck of the duff deluxe, vs the jazz bass special? I have the duff jazz bass special but read that the neck is thicker on the duff deluxe
  24. I only need to go down half a step, but my action is quite low and buzzy as it is so worry physically tuning down half step will just make it worse
  25. Thanks for letting me know. The rest of the pedal does look & sound great from all the videos I’ve seen
