1. Since starbucks and amazon dont pay tax, or have agreed to pay an insultingly pultry percentage of next to nothing, I wouldn't mind getting a little lucky and not paying duty on ONE transaction, costing the UK economy a game changing £15! Just admit it, man. You're no better than Starbucks. <--- TROLL IS OBVIOUS
2. Wow, tbh I just thought I was buying a 'black one' at the time. The £200 ones are not selling on ebay. I'll put it in a cupboard somewhere then, lol.
3. Are there not any american BCers who can help out? Buy some and send them over to avoid fooking duty etc. I dont think that would be a crime.
4. Basically, I am in the habit of doing image 1. This means I plant my thumb print on the neck and use it as a pivot point for positioning fingers to navigate the thret board. it stabilises the neck but forces pressure points that build up etc. it also means the wrist drops as elbow not moving much etc. Im doing image 2 at the moment with a p-bass (I got this habit from using thin Ibenez neck). However Im obviously not getting the usual finger spread doing this but I could play all night etc. Image three is bassically good practice from what ive looked into, have the thumb nail pointing down the neck to the head. This means you can rest the neck in the palm whilst freeing up fingers for playing, moving elbow for position etc. This seems really obvious but my habit is basically a mixture of being lazy and wanting to get speedy without good technique, I also really held the neck like my life depended on it, as if the fecker would turn into a snake or something, which really I dont need to do. etc. Just weird how ive been playing 10+ years and only now starting to pick apart the bad techniques and habits I have. Cheers bc'ers
5. well, I've got a sov BM pedal, for £55 not too long ago. I'm definitely thinking of selling it if those ones on ebay go for £200, and then look at the Wren & Cruff or one of the mentioned COG's. Just blows my mind!
6. Hi guys, Im sure there must be some promoters here who would like to find hard working bands to work with, so let us know who you are and how organise things, how you like working, with who and where. I ask for two reasons, firstly: Im trying to get some gigs in/around london with a really obsecure sounding band and secondly: I love live music think there should be more about. Indie / DIY / shoestring promoters have a thankless task at times and Ive seen friends go mental trying to get things sorted, so let us know what you're doing, where your blogs are and we'll hopefully show you support.
7. Google whack it, just put catchy phrases or words into google, if nothing comes up then run with it. My drone projcet 'the dust museum of joy' is great and even shows our videos when you search dust museum... i think. I have two really great names that needs bands, no, Im not sharing...
8. Maybe, but Ive been playing an Ibenez which is soo thin the thumb tends to wonder into a position where it is forced againsted the neck, almost positioned in a constant pushing position and tensity. Im loving the big C shape to wrap the thumb around.

10. Dude, cheers. I'd not thought of hittting yt for this. I tend to grip too hard and adjust after Ive moved elbow. Ive also got a different bass now with a far greater C shape nek which helps force my thumb over/on the top edge of the neck, I was dropping wrist alot (which pushes thumb into neck) because of thin neck.
11. Agreed! The BM has obviously been improved time over, even by EHX. Mad sh*t! EDIT: there two on ebay now with buy it now prices of £200.
12. So there's loads turning up on e-bay recently, talking 2013, there's got to be at least one every week. Is it right that I'm so sceptical of this? Were they ever so popular? I mean some sell for £80 plus which is mad! There's so many clones about now, as well. They all seem to be version 4 black ones, easily faked?
13. yeah nice sounds there! cheers sibob, good stuff that!
14. I was dead nervous and wooden first couple of years gigging, recently Ive just been looser and more pumped that people want to be in a band with me and enjoy every second. Not sure its actually 'stage presence' with sideways wabbles and an occasional walk in a circle then back my spot for more wabbles. EarBass - I agree with the horses for courses bit... I haven't heard of Lau, but I dont listen to much folk music beyond Dian Cluck and Josphine Foster and I dont think the genre is really image driven, but thats really by design... just imagine Queen without Freddie and remember Kiss without the make-up were PLOP! What I mean is that a 'no image' persona actually is an image. If I watched Thom Yorke all smiley and happy, I'd not have got the misery I'd just paid to see. Remeber that Mighty Boosh folk band?... 15. Well, the effect signal doesnt seem to be as sweet in tone as the dry signal but thats what gives it a slight jarring quality??, I dont know how to describe it really. The effect always seems to be delayed after the dry signal from what Ive heard, even when dialed to 7. Sorry to derail the thread with all the EQD Organizer love...
16. Dennis Kayzer does some great demos on youtube, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFV8cDvhtXM Whats really cool is the pedals and effect arrangements he demos, always interesting me thinks. The organizer sounds like a ring mod with reverb and more user friendly mods, have you seen the LAL misty cave, seems similar.
17. Moon Ra is an improv set up with visuals and spacey / tribal musical soundscapes. Basically, its roughly 15 of us, turning up in costume and jamming to RA! <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/RVijeF6KEP0?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Heres some previous recording and sets... 18. I really want to run my toy casio MT70 through a SuperEgo > Organizer > DT Sr > SuperEgo > I actually think thats what Heaven would sound like. Link to your soundscapes for examples? Cheers Si
19. Whats the EQD organizer pedal like with bass, do you use it much and how? I have a Sea Machine and its great but not a bass pedal at all tbh. I have extreme GAS for the Disaster Transport Sr. Im really liking EQD modulation pedals.
20. Quality pedals, just have rediculous garage bills this month. PM'd...
21. ahem... here's what I've just picked up for £50! Sounds great and feels like the proper bass I've needed! [IMG]http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/204/hondobass3.jpg[/IMG][/URL]
