My first gig with goth/post punk band The InSect is on Friday at the Dublin Castle in Camden. Onstage about 8pm. https://www.facebook.com/events/248170544468197
Edit: We have been bumped up to main support act, so onstage around 9pm now

Well it looks like I would have to drop the best part of £1k to get this fabulous bass sold, so I am going to hang on to it and enjoy it when my left hand is fully recovered

Here's a glowing review of a Lincoln by Lobster, so you can hear what the pickups and controls do

Back up FS as I am still not using it and its too much money to be tied up in a beautiful, hand-made objet!
Resigned to losing a chunk of change on this but try me with a very close offer - or p/x for s/s Serek MW or Wilcock Mullarkey/Bisonic (not the one with Stingray pickup though)

I just bought an Origin Effects Bass Rig from Paul. It arrived safe and very well packed and the minty condition is exactly as described. Top BCer! Many thanks, Paul

Well I got the gig (had to learn 11 original songs) and the guitarist told me that the effect in the OP was some sort of Big Muff

Indeed, I am not spending on a pedal(s) unless I actually get the role ... but am being an optimist with this thread! For the audition, I will use my EBS Valvedrive with the gain right up ... oh and - as advised - be witty, charming, erudite etc 😀

Hi all. I need to recreate this bass sound from London goth band The InSect. Any idea what pedal(s) maybe being used here? Many thanks in advance

Can also throw in some Roto Trubass black nylon short scale flats for a none-more-black look

Never been a fan of distressed finishes though. Does any of the other Mustang variants have the same spec apart from the finish?
Maybe this JMJ refinned in sherwood green metallic nitro would float your boat? Seems like it was modded with care and attention to detail https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/275929984807?epid=15037201791&hash=item403eb56f27:g:smUAAOSwDzFkoG~S

Bought as a backup to my Serek MW. However, I don't play it much as I prefer the uber skinny neck profile on my Serek.
The usual SG bass specs (30.5" scale, brown lined hard case) except its in the less commonly-seen ebony gloss nitro finish and I upgraded the 3-point bridge (which is safe in the case) with a superior Hipshot Supertone (>£100). Nice weight at under 8 pounds. Some shallow surface marks in nitro finish, mainly from a previous owner's pick I assume but nothing egregious, I'd give it a solid 9/10. Currently wearing wearing DR Hi-Beam stainless steel rounds but I can throw in some flats for Jack Bruce type thump.
Big saving on new (especially given bridge upgrade) at £850 collected/meet-up (SW13, south of Hammersmith Bridge) or add courier at cost (will be in region of £25).
No trades.
PS, any 'patina' in pictures is dust or finger marks, which the black gloss nitro finish seems to attract!

The @Lozz196 of 2022 (before he went short scale) would have been beating a path to your door! Absolute beauty

Incredible how one little letter "e" makes the difference between a bass numpty and a top quality bass player

What’s the general opinion on the Trent Guitars basses? Has anyone tried their mk1 bass?
Not tried one but look pretty cool and nice nod to sustainability (non nitro/PU paint)

Fantastic song and bass line, especially for those of us who grew up with Chic, Sister Sledge etc
