1. Is there no warranty with this pedal? I just got it in a box with no paperwork/ instructions etc. Is this the way they normally are delivered? I hope I didn't get one someone had sent back!!
2. Just received mine today from Bass Direct. I have to say im not happy at paying £200 for a pedal and they can't even be bothered to provide a bit of bubble wrap. It was just in the darkglass box in a plastic bag. Very poor customer service. I hope it works ok!!
3.
I just wouldn't bother. You'll never be able to properly replicate the sound you have in your head. The only reason I've ever used Ampeg gear is because it looks awesome and, yeah sounds good, but never really achieved what I wanted out of a bass rig. Just go out there and try everything you can. Eventually you'll settle on something you like! Why do you need a 'stack' anyway? Markbass combos sound great, weigh nothing and are furiously loud. If you need to go louder, the room should have a PA that you can plug into. Even the 1x15 conbos have a tiny footprint. And if you did want to expand there's a ready supply of second hand cabs floating about. Truckstop
I always loved the sound of Tim Slades jazz through his Ampeg SVT stack when we played gigs with Mohair. I guess the SVT 7 pro and HE410 would kind of get me there but it's still pretty big and heavy!
4. Yeah I seen those rs210's. I was interested in them. The rs410's are really cheap at the minute, but I think 2 rs210's would be a easy to lug around and get in my Peugeot 308. I preferred the sound of the vintage microtubes. I was going to wait and get a VT bass DI until I heard the microtubes, so bought it and a radial J48 instead!
5.
I did the two ampeg svt210 things for a while does the sound of the big 810 well on budget while saving weight and space. If you have the time and spare cash is get the barefaced 69er as its supposed to clone the sound only with better performance and lighter and smaller. As far as head or amp goes. Get your self either a GB shuttle or MB LMtube, the preamp tube is going to give you the harmonic distortion, the cb will give you the overall colour, and the microtubes will give you any drive you want.
Is the micro VR with 210av x 2No. Loud enough to cope with a drummer and 2 guitarists? That would be a good option If it was. I'm kind of swaying towards a Markbass Little Mark iii. I'm struggling to find 2 good quality 2x10 cabs to pair with it. Easier for me to move around than a 4x10. The markbass cabs seem to get bad press online, plus they are pretty expensive.
6. Thanks for the suggestions. I considered the VT bass, but I actually preferred the sound of the microtubes vintage; hence why I bought it. :-)
7. It's for playing weddings. I was just looking at a little mark iii and a tc electronics rs410 or 2 rs210. I was hoping to use the vintage microtubes to make it sound a bit more ampeggy. The SVT 410HE is heavier than the rs410.
8. Did you not experience farting issues when adding a 2nd cab? Looks really cool by the way.
9. I bought the vintage microtubes over the Sansamp VT! I also bought a radial J48 a couple of months ago for a DI.
10. Alright guys. I want to get an amp an cab that will get me somewhere in the ballpark of the ampeg stack. I need to transport it in my car so size and weight is an issue. I looked at the SVT pro 7 and 4x10 HE cab but it is still pretty bulky and heavy. What about a Gallien Krueger 700rbII or an Ashdown ABM evo III or little mark amp? If I could get away with a 2x10cab that would be great! I just bought a Vintage Microtubes to help along with achieving ampeg tones. All suggestions are welcome!
11. Yeah man I looked at that a while back, but I bought a radial j48 instead. I was a bit concerned that the VT bass is left on kind of taking over the amp. I think the new VT bass DI looks a good job with the DI and blend control, however I have the radial which is pretty awesome.
12. Is the vintage microtubes a better option than the Sansamp VT?
13. Yeah well I am open to suggestions at this point. I'll be using it with either an Ampeg SVT 7 Pro or an Ashdown ABM evo III.
14. Well I have a passive fender jazz. I may only use it for certain songs or parts of songs so being able to switch it off would be helpful. Thanks man.
15. Hi guys. I'm after an overdrive pedal that creates an Ampeg VT sound. I looked into the VT Bass and was a bit concerned that most people had it always on. Can you switch it on and off for sections of songs for example? If not what would be another good choice. Sort of Queens of the Stone Age sound I guess. Thanks.
16. There's only 250 being made. Seems pretty dumb considering the amount of cliff Burton bass enthusiasts out there. They could have made it a price more in line with what it's actually worth and produced more of them. How many of them will be bought be rich Metallica who can't even play bass?
17. I've narrowed it down to the Radial J48 or Sfx m:D2. Does anyone recommend one over the other?
18. Alright guys. Question for you. I've just been offered a Trace Elliot 1110 Combo Amp for £330, is this worth buying? I guess it's the old TC model which I think had a good reputation. The dude says its in good condition. Is it worth checking out?
19. Don't forget the customs charge!
20. What are the opinions on the Sfx m:D2? It sounds an interesting option.
21. Sort of torn between the Radial J48 and the SFX m:D2. Can't decide!
22. Yes Chris, I think I would like to own a Reddi eventually but they are nearly £700! Sound Awesome though. Something around £200 mark is what I'm hoping for.
23. Thanks I'll look it up on the web.
