  1. Quick summary what you get on top of the Bass - Sandberg Gigbag (Basic model) - Sandberg leather strap - New set of Sandberg stainless steel strings (40-100) - It is currently strung with a new set of DR 50-110 Drop-Down Tuning strings
  2. Thank you. This Bass is not just a beauty looks wise but also sound wise. (Which of course lies in the eye of the beholder) The combination of this Noll system and the hum free Sandberg Black Label Pickups is not just extremely versatile but also very strong. You can get all sounds from very dark and muddy stoner sounds to popping slap sounds. I only considered selling it because I thought that I would easily get the funds I need for the Sandberg Nighthawk Plus that I already ordered but it seems that people are not willing to spend as much money for an extremely high quality Warmoth built killer bass as they are willing to spend for a good but pretty standard USA made Fender/Gibson/you name it instrument. Maybe I have to sell my Sandberg VM2 bass instead. Of course I could not ask as much as I am asking for this Warmoth but I think it is easier to sell as it has a "name" on the Headstock
  3. Hey ! I ordered this set from "Rockinger" which is a famous online store over here in Germany. As almost every other store they did not have this set in stock so they had to order it from Sandberg. I am not sure why but most stores only have the 2xMM style set or 2xJ style set available.
  4. Hey ! This bass is not an only child. It has a younger sister so you won't have to fight with the typical problems of only children when you accept this bass into your family
  5. I put a pair of Sandberg Black Label PJ Pickups in my Warmoth project. There was a problem with the phase since there was a mistake in the instructions manual which resulted in 21 EUR extra charged by my luthier. I informed Sandberg about this and Holger sent me a set of strings and a leather strap as a "sorry". Awesome customer service.
  6. Hello there ! So I fell in love with a Sandberg which I've already ordered and since I am not Richie Rich I need to sell something to raise the funds for this aka live in peace with the mother of my children. I have to admit that this move is stupid since it burns the money I've spent in the blink of an eye but the love for the Sandberg is so strong ..... I don't care. Up for sale is the Warmoth PJ project that has just been finished and is built from only highclass parts. So far has been played on for maybe 3 hours so it is like new ! 7. Already ordered the new Nighthawk Plus model in dark grey. I think that is the most beautiful bass I have ever seen in my life 🤤
  8. Does anyone in here know if the Sandberg Black Label P (Neck) and J (Bridge) Pickup fit the Warmoth routes (4 string) without any problems ?
  9. Hello there ! So I have all those PJ bass parts coming in soon and the PJ pickups are the only parts that are missing. This bass will be played in D standard and will be used for Stoner/Doom/Sludge music only. I will use a Darkglass Tone Capsule with 18V and now I am looking for a good set of PJ pickups. I have my eyes on four different "sets": - Häussel BigMag P and J Those pickups have 9,5mm MM style pole pieces (Alnico V magnets) - Aguilar HOT P and J (Unfortunately they are not available as a PJ set) - Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder PJ set - Rio Grande Muy Grande PJ set Aguilar, SD and Rio Grande have 6mm pole pieces (Also Alnico V magnets) The problem is --> I've never played any of them. They are only on my radar because of youtube videos and reviews on the internet. Does anyone of you have experience using one of those sets in combination with the Darkglass Tone Capsule ? Thank you very much in advance Dan
  10. Well here is my explanation. I was interested and looking for a VS4 but I did not like the colour and the maple fretboard of your Sandberg so I moved on
  11. Even though my daughter is only 11 months old she has already started to destroy my physical condition. Therefore and with a lot of distress I have to let go my ~5,3 Kilo Schecter bass made in the early 80s just when Manowar released the glorious "Battle Hymns" and when Pantera was about to start their way into music history. My shoulder just can't handle it and I can not play in my band sitting on a chair. So this lovely Schecter PJ bass was built during the so called Van Nuys era. Back in those days Schecter was a small repair and custom guitar shop started by Dave Schecter that was located in Van Nuys, California. Together with his employees (one of them was Tom Anderson) Schecter built replacement parts but also complete guitars (the "Dream Machines"). Instruments made during that period of Schecter are regarded as very high quality and great sounding instruments. But I don't want to bore you with its history so I would like to refer you to the following sites. https://www.mk-guitar.com/2010/10/22/the-schecter-story-schecter-guitar-research-dream-machines-the-van-nuys-era/ https://www.schecterguitars.com/about https://foxyguitars.com/ This passive bass was bought in Germany in 1983. It is made of a 2 piece Koa body (no laminate, solid Koa). Neck and fretboard are made from one piece of wood. I am not a 100% sure but I guess it is Pau Ferro. All brass hardware. Nut 43mm. Volume, Volume, Tone. The volume knobs have a push/pull function each. I am not exactly sure what they do electrics wise but they take a bit of that punch and aggression from the tone and add a bit of warmth. When it was bought in 1983 it was decided to make it a fretless bass so the frets were professionally taken off and the nut was adjusted. Since I am not a fretless player I brought it to a professional luthier over here in Munich (Stevens Guitars) to get it refretted with Dunlop 6110 Medium Jumbo frets. It also received a new brass nut. That cost me 400 EUR. Now, the fretboard looks and feels and plays like new. The bass itself is a beast in all aspects and if it were not that heavy I would not sell it. Of course there are dings&dongs all over the body but nothing major. The electronics work but there are two very small issues I have to mention. There is a wee bit of noise on the J volume pot and on the tone pot if you use them. The luthier told me that over the years dust found its way into those pots and he could not clean them completely. It did not bother me because I usually do not touch them during a song. My asking price is SOLD - Price for shipping within the European Union is included. For shipping I will dismount the neck. Payment by PayPal (Family&Friends because I don't want to pay fees), or bank transfer or cash when you pick it up in Munich. I might consider a trade for a +/- 4 Kilo Precision bass + partial payment. More pictures on request. Thanks a lot Daniel
  12. The weight of the Schecter is starting to giving me some problems. Around 5,3 Kg (11,7 lbs) and even though I have a fat Minotaur strap my left shoulder starts to hurt. Any pro tips here or am I just starting to get old ? (33 years now)
  13. Does anyone of you know whether the Rio Grande MM4 Humbucker fit in a Sandberg VM2 4 ?
  14. Well, I guess I will throw in a set of m4 Black label pickups but not now. I have a Warmoth guitar and a 6 string Ukulele in the build at the moment so spending another 300 EUR for the pickups and the build in is not an option at the moment....at least if I want to keep the peace at home 😓
  15. Well, my Sandberg is the VM2 version with two MM style pickups and has a 2-band EQ preamp, with active/passive switching and vol/balance/bass/treble. So it is very versatile which clearly is a strength. But compared to the Schecter the Sandberg sounds a bit ... muted, even if I fully turn down the basses and fully turn up the treble. At least in my ears. The Schecter is a treble monster with still enough bass to blast some heavy notes in your stomach. Maybe you can say that the Sandberg with its 2 band EQ is more of an allrounder. A jack of all trades, master of none.
  16. Is there really no Schecter Thread yet ? I own a beautiful old Schecter PJ bass from the 80's and I just love the feel of it as well as the sound ... especially if you select the P + the J pickup this is just like a force of nature that is blowing out of your amplifier. Very raw and barking with mucho cochones The only downside of this bass is its weight. I am not a very experienced bass player so I was very surprised when I compared this passive PJ bass with my passive/active Sandberg bass that has two humbuckers. Even though the Schecter is passive it is killing the Sandberg. The Sandberg is not bad at all and it has its strengths but there is no way to reproduce the sound of the Schecter with the Sandberg electronics.
  17. Hey, I finally received it back from the luthier after the refreting. I was told by the luthier that it most likely is Pau Ferro but of course you can not be sure a 100%
  18. You should rethink your asked price to get it sold. The price that you are asking for is a price which you could expect on a Van Nuys/California made Schecter but not on a Texas made Schecter. They usually sell for much less.
  19. Hey ! That's a very sexy Jazz but I am quite sure that this is not from the Van Nuys era. This looks very much like a Texas made instrument. What's written on the neck heel and in the neck pocket ? Can you please attach pics? Thanks !
  20. Hi ! What are numbers in the neck pocket and on the neck heel ?
