1.
I wouldnt worry....ebay isnt doing well for anyone at the moment. I've just bought one new before I saw this...whoops. Seriously good cab.
hope you dnt mind me asking but how much did you pay for it new? they are awesome! but my pro 6 will destroy it on a gig! and it a bit excessive for bedroom practice lol
 2. didnt sell on ebay so bump 300 ono
 3. im thinking bout getting a power strip that screw onto the back of the rack. http://www.olson.co.uk/13a_filter.htm not sure yet tho as a normal 4 way adaptor is alot cheaper, but this one has a surge protector to.
 4. im getting into all these effects now! love the chorus! the mega distortion is just ridiculously good, and i just got a little silly fuzz pedal today, the ehx metal muff, it for guitar but gave this insane fuzz that will be wicked for the odd solo/song intro sound really similar to rob Trujillo solo sound. but sadly i dnt get the clean bass tone underneath the fuzz, still love it tho. andy
 5. just found an mxr brick so i think thats the supply sorted.
 6. hi guys just put up my cab on ebay and wanted to get a few more people checking it out, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...s%3DI%26otn%3D1 as it says the cabs like new been gigged 3 times? used at practice, but not since i got my ampeg. upgrading to a 610 for the band rather than getting the 410 to go with this. any q's just ask me here or thru ebay. andy
 7.
Just had 1st rehearsal with Markbass CL106 & Classic head .. gain @ 80%, eq=flat, master vol '1' !! loud as hell .. same head thru Schoeder 410L but master vol on 3-4 .. even tho Schoe = 4Ohm & MB=6Ohm I guess the 2 extra speakers make a difference (or perhaps where you're standing if the Schroe projects like they say) .. still both very portable ! 26kg & 34kg resp. I believe. Can't really compare to other brands but think I've found the perfect rig for me .. time will tell. Simon
glad to hear it man. got the final price on the 610, sadly none will take my 115 in part ex which means im selling it. hopefully i should have the money together by next week! :-) andy
 8.
what pedals do you have?
a boss tu-2, boss md-2 and a boss ceb-3.
 9. what power units you guys use? im looking at voodoo labs or the boss? any others? andy
 10.
I've just made a similar move - 'downsized' my Ampeg 410 and 115 to an SVT610. I'm over the moon with it, loving the sound. All science aside, it seems to have the low-end extension I previously felt was missing from my setup. The big tiltback wheels are a winner for moving it around too, it's dead easy. Dood's Epifani looks great, I'd have tried something like that if my budget stretched to it. If you're wondering about size, it's about 8 inches shorter than my 410/15 stack was. If you can pick one up second hand, you're onto a winner, I'd say go for it.
im looking at getting one new, for hopefully around 750-850? im gonna use my orange as part ex. i have a ford fiesta so it look funny when i roll up 2 a gig with this in the back plus my rack plus my mody! lol
 11.
Right, Not played through my Orange for 2 or 3 weeks... and i dunno what it is... but the sound of it has changed. It sounds better than gods bass amp now! But, Our guitarist has a Trace Elliot V8. Cant wait to play it/steal it...
yes still it! the v4 wicked! the v8 will be sick! i imagine it weighs a bit tho, doubt you'd be able to run away with it? andy
 12.
I've always wanted to try a trace 4x12" as well. I missed out on getting one a few months ago as it was too far away to collect.
they are awesome! but the one i use sometimes is like 25yrs old? probs more? and im constantly worried bout breaking it lol, doubt i ever would tho andy
 13.
love mine! it's a monster paired with the svt810e.
ill bet the one i use is our drummers, i use a 412 trace cab tho and i loud that must shake the walls!
 14.
Most bass players I know don't like the tone of an SVT IIPro?? very disappointing seems usual comment! Seeing as your in Falkirk, your most welcome to pop over to my practice room in Edinburgh and check out my Trace V4 all valve head and I'm sure Thornybank would bring a couple of his secret gems to the room also. andy
v4's are awesome!
 15.
Warwick 611 Cheaper than the ampeg, pretty much same size as ampeg. You can get them brand new for about £580 900watts (1200watt max) into 4ohms...nice
sadly to big to fit in my car. granted the ampeg is gonna be a tight squeeze.
 16.
Going for a 15"+6.5" would a lot more different still! But I admit that a 6x10" does look more imposing. However I bet an Ampeg 6x10" couldn't handle the 2000W force of my power amp like the Big One did last night! Alex
no you do have a point there! lol
 17.
Your amp has a solidstate power amp so that's all that matters. It will be happy running any combination of cabs right down to the minimum rated impedance. You could drive a 16 ohm cab, a 12 ohm cab, a 20 ohm cab, whatever. Just don't go below 4 ohms (assuming Ampeg's website is correct). Ah, the power of the Ampeg brand! Alex
wicked thanks man thats good o know. yeh i suppose to a point but also they look awesome!, plus i think going for the 610 is little dif than the standard 810 or 410+115 setup? andy
 18.
Solidstate amps can run any load down to their rated minimum (actually they can usually go quite a bit lower than that without any problems) - there isn't an ohm setting. Valve amps have output transistors with different taps to help match up different impedance cabs. However the impedance of a cab is nowhere hear constant - an 8 ohm cab will typically vary between about 6 ohms and 50+ ohms. I rate one of my cabs, the Barefaced Big One, at 6 ohms and would recommend using the 8 ohm tap on a valve amp. Incidentally this cab provides similar max output to a good 6x10" but more bottom and punch despite weighing half as much. Alex
ok i get that, soz i didn't mean ohms setting but i think you got what i meant. but my pro-6 being a hybrid, ss power amp, but it got driver tubes and tube pre, also it doesnt have a 4/8 ohm selector on the back. im only asking incase i can only use my head on cab sharing gigs its nice to know. my heart is set on the 610 if it the right price
 19.
Oh, and in answer to your original question, my Markbass 6x10 was smaller and lighter than my Hughes and Kettner 4x10
what amp where you running that with? why make it 6 ohms? is it bad to run an amp between an ohm setting? im getting a price on a new ampeg 610 on tues? fingers crossed it about 750-800, with atleast a 300 quid part ex on my orange cab i should only have to put down 500 towards it? andy
 20. ive played a vba400 and loved it! the tone was wicked, and the eq really useful. ive had an orange ad140b and it was awesome, played a 200b and it was just amazing! i prefer the ad to the vba. ive never tried the svt pro 2, my pro 6 has a valve pre, and has 4 driver tubes, i love it gives the exact tone that i want! but someday i do hope to get my hands on a vintage svt all valve head. ive also played thru a trace v4 head and 4x12 cab b4 i had my rig sorted thats at our drummers house! no that is a sweet sounding amp def recommend that if you can find one, i think u can get v6's and v8's to? but the only thing with valve amps is they weight a tone, particually the vba!
 21.
The reason for the impedance is the restriction of speaker values- 4ohm, 8ohm, 16ohm etc. The 5.33 ohm impedance is due to 3 pairs of 8ohm speakers wired in parallel, just treat it as you would a 4ohm cab
really, god damn i just got my head round the whole ohms thing! haha oh well they to pricey anyway 2 talking nearly 1400 i think for a h n k 610?
 22.
http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_sp...t_NV_Range.html Check out the berg nv610, pretty light, compact, easy to manouevre, killer sound.
i thought bout this but they are just to pricey.needs to be around the 800 quid mark?
 23. weight wise it doesn't seem there alot in it like 20 pounds? the ampeg takes 600w not sure of other 610 makers? i know h n k do one but that far to pricey! and has a weird ohms thing 5/3 ohms?! im looking into gettin a coulpe of 410's at the mo, but am wondering if this maybe a better way to go? my band plays small bars, to large clubs, i have seen bands in these places use 810's b4, which i thought was overkill. anyone got a 610 that they could give me an idea of how big it is? andy
