1. I bought this new in 2004, and it has been my sole gigging and recording head ever since- it's never been anything less than 100% reliable in all that time! I've recently bought a Little Mark II to replace this, and can't really afford to keep both heads, so with some sadness (oh pleeeeeease!) I'm putting this up for sale... A quick summary of the spec: -300W @ 4 ohm, 200W @ 8ohm. -Twin channels (you can select either OR both channels together AND mute with supplied footswitch). -Footswitch connects to the head using any 1/4" jack lead (very useful). -Sansamp XLR DI out (with gain pad & ground lift), effects loop, parallel 1/4" speaker outs, tuner out. Condition is 9.5/10- it's been rackmounted in a flightcase virtually from new. There are only a few light scratches on the top panel, and the rubber feet are slightly scuffed, and that's about it- not even any rack rash (I've been very careful with it). It's in A1 perfect working order- I just hope my new LMII is as roadworthy as this has been! It comes in the original shipping box and packaging- the footswitch, manual, AC cable and rack-mounting kit are all included (see pic). I'm looking for £300 for this- no offers please! ***NOW SOLD*** Collection from Liverpool city centre preferred, but I am happy to post this at the buyers own cost and risk- it's pretty heavy though! I can also deliver within 50 miles of Liverpool if my diesel costs are covered... Thanks for looking- please PM for more info and photos. Etienne
2. PM on the way!
3. +1 on nobody listening to what you're playing! I've played 'Sexy Mother F****r' by Prince on more than one occasion with my old covers band- goes down a treat! Slip it in near the end of the last set when everyone's slaughtered- not recommended as a first dance though!
4. BUMP! More info and asking price added...
5. ***SOLD!!!*** I bought this used on Ebay from a shop in Alabama a few months back... I'm now selling it on to pay for some newly acquired gear and to pay some bills... This is an amazingly versatile instrument- by using different combinations of the switches you can get virtually any tone you like, and it's passive too! This is one of the early models, fitted with Schaller straplock buttons as standard. Other features include a graphite-reinforced neck, Hipshot lightweight tuners with D-tuner on the E-string, and a fully adjustable, 2-way loading, roller-bearing saddle equipped bridge... For the full spec, please see Fender's website. The body is downsized compared to a regular Jazz Bass and is quite light. It balances perfectly on the strap- no neck diving! This is a perfect gigger's bass- all the tones you'll probably ever need and very comfortable to play and wear! These are pretty rare in the UK, particularly in this colour with the matching headstock and rosewood board. It comes with a black tolex Fender case (a few scuffs but that's all), plus tools for the trussrod and bridge. Condition is 9/10- just a few tiny dings/chips in the finish and some light scratches on the back of the body. I've just fitted a brand-new set of Ernie Ball Slinkys too! I will ship this at extra cost (insurance recommended) OR it can be collected from Liverpool city centre. I will also deliver this within 50 miles of Liverpool in return for fuel money. Thanks for looking! 6. BUMP for Steve and his lovely P-bass! Thanks for waiting 'til I sold mine before putting this beauty on the market mate! I recently bought a Little Mark II from Steve- he is a pleasure to do business with... Buy with confidence!
7. SOLD SOLD SOLD (Pending payment)!!! Thanks everybody for your interest! Etienne
8. Wow, what a pain in the arse! Hope this whole sorry episode is going to be sorted for you now mate- don't forget to keep checking the gear sections in here for 2nd-hand LMII's, 'cos they do turn up- I just bought my own off Flanker in this very forum last week, and it's a beaut! Good luck! Etienne
9.
Mickey Quinn from Supergrass is another example - he's been playing the same Ibanez Blazer (or is it a Roadster?) for his whole career.
And I've read Mr Quinn also uses the same beaten-up old Carlsbro combo that he's owned for years for recording all those tasty 'Grass basslines...
10. If you're after a nice old P-bass, you could do a lot worse than mine! I've got a really tasty original '79 in the Basses For Sale section, feel free to have a look... Shameless plug over! Etienne
11. BUMP!!! There has to be somebody out there after a nice old P-Bass... show yourselves!
12. My friend Harry used to use a battered Peugeot 106, and before that an old 80's Micra, both with the front seat removed(!) to take his 3/4 size upright, plus a Hartke Kickback 12 in the boot. There was even room left to take a passenger, although they had to sit behind the driver's seat in the back!
13. BUMP AND PRICE DROP TO £750-00!!! Shipping now also considered at buyer's cost and risk.... Come get yourselves a bargain!!! Etienne
14. PM on the way!
15. This looks and works like new... it's never been gigged! Instructions included (just found them!) but no box... £15 plus P+P (shouldn't be much), or collect from Liverpool city centre. Thanks! Etienne
16. Thanks everyone for cracking me up, nearly choked on my cornflakes! Regardless of the reasons for the sale, hope this finds a good home soon... +1 for a sweet instrument!
17. Early weekend BUMP, plus pics of neck/body join, neck wear and back of body for earlier interested PMers... hope these help! BTW, have no suitable scales to weigh this at the mo, but it's certainly the lightest ash-bodied P-Bass that I've come across... At a guess, 9lbs? Thanks! P.s. Yes I know, the action is pretty high, but I prefer to dig in with either fingers or pick myself!
18. Thanks for the compliments people! I MAY consider shipping this if it hasn't found a home in the next 2 weeks or so... in which case the buyer will have to cover the relevant costs. I guess this also qualifies as a BUMP!
19. Hello! Please could you tell me what the spec is on the cab (weight, power and impedance)? Thanks!
20. Great clip SJA! Top playing from Mr Forbes, and the bass isn't bad either...
21.
Are you sure the tuners are original? They look too shiny, especially if you compare them with the rusty string tree. Amazing colour though, too bad you are not willing to post.
Hi fleamail, yes they are original, just in good nick, that's all! Please have a look at the attached photo above... Shame you're all the way over in Greece and aren't able to pop round to try it out, you'd definitely like it!
