WITHDRAWN Hey all, decided to sell my Mexican PJ Deluxe bass. It's a great sounding and playing instrument, but I really just want a straight up P, so I'm selling a couple of bits in order to get me cash for a nice one. It's black with a maple board and a gold scratch plate. All the stuff is the same as when I bought it, except I've popped a new bridge on. It's a simple cheap one for £15 from North West Guitars, as recommended to me on here. Works a treat and I'll include the original BBOT Fender one for you. So the bass is in good condition, plays great, sounds great, had it set up and given a good ol going over by a tech in Brighton recently, too. The only issue is a cosmetic one, a wearing away of the gold on the scratch plate. You should be able to see that in the pictures below. Anyway, I can't think of anything else to tell you, great bass, looks good and sounds good. Gigged with it a good handful of times over the summer and its great, proper reliable. It'll be a shame not to have her in my arsenal anymore but I can't stop looking at Maruszczyks right now and the GAS is getting the better of me. Happy to post within the UK, couriered via UPS most likely (once I find some bubble wrap), and also very happy to meet within Sussex to exchange the bass, that would be easier for me as well at the moment as I'm a bit of a busy bee. The bass will come in the hard case it was supplied to me in, which is a black Guvnor one with Fender logo. Payment through PayPal or bank transfer please, with Paypal fees taken into account (within reason). The price is the same that I paid for it on here a few months back, so no silly silly offers please. I am open to trades, though I am really only looking for a passive 4 string Precision right now. Anything Fender/Sandberg/G&L/Lakland/Maruszczyk would be great, but I really don't have much extra cash to add to a trade deal, if any right now. Any questions or more pics required, feel free to ask! Cheers Ollie WITHDRAWN couldn't bear to part with it after playing it again yesterday. Apologies all.

Hi all, selling my Malekko Bassmaster fuzz. Bought about a 18 months ago through here, great fuzz pedal, loud, versatile and aggressive. Works great with actives too, which is mainly why I bought it. Selling because I have a few fuzzes, haven't used this in the while and I now need the monies!! Works great, no issues, electronically, cosmetically or otherwise except a tiny nick off the surface sticker. Anyway, I'm asking £130 first class posted within the UK. It has no box or bits with it but it will be well packaged. Pic en route! NOW SOLD THANKS
Good to hear you like the bridge. WRT the volumes issue, are the strings the same height/distance from the pups? Which strings are louder/quieter?
I've actually been trying to sort this for a while, I did think it was the bridge that was the source of the issue due to the irregular saddle movement. It's only noticeable in a band mix, the e thunders through but the rest (especially the A) sort of vanish into the mix, haven't had a bass do that before. I've mucked about with pickups and saddles but didn't really figure it out...

Well I got a new bridge from Northwest, seems decent, the odd rattle but nothing that's too worrying, already fixed the problematic bridge, so quite pleased with that, thanks all. I seem to be getting uneven string volumes again (had it before on this bass) Might have to drop it to a tech for that part. Thanks for your help all.

I visited the Northwest website and purchased myself a nice little chrome jobby. Measurements look like they line up almost exactly. Should be here tomorrow so I'll post them with an update!
BBOT = Bent Bit Of Tin
Ahhh Thank you!
yup... in fact I'm a fan of those bridges as I can set the string spacing the way I want it (a bit wider than usual). I guess I've been lucky because I've had no problems so far with mine. No, I am not looking to buy another but it should sell ok and cover the cost of a standard BBOT Fender bridge with deeper grooves.
Aye, a quick look around suggests people like these bridges! Though I'm not sure what BBOT stands for, but seems to yield the right results. I like the Gotoh that Lozz suggested so far, it's giving me confidence just looking at it, only £40ish on Amazon, too. So I've looked at the size of the 201B4, (http://g-gotoh.com/international/product/201b-4.html), which look almost the same as my current bridge... I'm a bit unsure that I'm going to order it and it won't fit though.... Can I make it fit or are all 5 screw /4 string bridges the same?
Good news is that old bridge has good resale value for people building their own vintage style bitsa basses!
Really? Well that is some good news!
Gotoh 201 is a straight fit for MIM Fenders, and is quite reasonably priced.
Cheers, I shall check it out!
the strings used to move around on the saddle while I was playing
That too! Nightmare!
clear nail varnish works a treat. Plenty of other fender and non fender (Babicz, Gotoh)out there - make sure you get one with five screws!
I'll remember that trick... The next question then, in looking for a new bridge is how do I know it will fit? I've looked at lots of bridges already but not all of them match up, dimensions wise. Do I have to keep shopping around for a perfect replacement or do I have to do a bit of DIY first?
Other than going for the branded bridges, Northwest Guitars do some great bridges for little money. http://www.northwest...k/bass-bridges/
Nice and cheap, looks great, I'll head there first when I know what I'm after! Thank you chaps.

Earlier this year I bought myself a nice early 00s Mexican deluxe PJ bass. Sounds and plays great except the bridge is basically a bit crap. It has no grooves and the saddles don't sit right and tonight I found they kept lowering quite significantly after every 2 or so songs. Basically I want to know what I could to do improve the bridge, or, if I'd be better off getting a new one and if so, what should I be looking for? I'll stick a better picture up later!

For sale or trade is my Ibanez ATK 400. This is a fantastic bass, one that has never let me down and always delivered the goods. I'm selling because I have too many unused basses. This bass is in almost perfect condition in every way and has never had anything go wrong with it in its 5/6 years with me. Easy to set up and maintain, solid and versatile. I'm asking £225. I'd rather meet for the sale and am happy to drive a sensible distance, mostly anywhere in Sussex as I'm based in worthing. Trade wise I'm interested only in 4 strings, preferably passive for now and preferably Precision style. Also keen on Jazz / Jaguar / Thunderbirds, but P bass is a fave right now. Also open to pedals for trades. If you want me to post, Im happy to do so but drop me a message and I'll sort something out. Feel free to ask any questions! PRICE DROP TO £225
