I tried setting my EQ to compensate for the room modes/response by plugging my mobile into it and running a series of test tones and dialing up a "flat" sounding curve. I then reproduced this on the amp's sliders. Works rather well. You then just tinker with the instrument EQ and (perhaps) the EQ balance and compressor (SMX owners) to make any desired tonal adjustments.

In all honesty, I've never had any issues with it. Not that I use it very often. It's just a good-sounding instrument in parallel mode, so I leave it that way.

The plate covers the neck pick-up. It's a Gibson-style humbucker, manufactured by DiMarzio to Billy's specifications. It's actually brighter-sounding than you'd expect.

I don't know the exact weight, and have no means of measuring it. It's considerably lighter than my Maple-bodied Squier VMJ. I'd give you a guess at around 8-9lb.

For sale, all my Trace Elliot stuff. Pre-Gibson era, made in Maldon, Essex. They've all been gigged, but all still work just fine. Items as follows; 1153 1x15 (on castors) 1048h 4x10 The top two were an H122smx, but I removed the amp from the combo and re-sleeved it to allow me to use the head and cabinet separately. The head is effectively an AH300smx, but in a wider case. The resulting cabinet is akin to a 2103H but slimmer and minus the tweeter level control. All the cabs are 8 ohm. The head gives 300w into 4 ohm (2 cabs in parallel) Prices; Head £75 2x10 £50 1x15 £75 4x10 £100 Or £300 in total. Strictly Cash on collection from my home address in central Essex. They're heavy! No chance of shipping! Please bring biceps and a suitably-sized vehicle.

Now Sold, my 2004 MIA Fender Jazz in Translucent Sunset Orange (over Ash) with Rosewood fretboard and white/black/white scratch plate. It's all original, and in good condition. Currently strung with DR Sunbeams in.045 .065 .080 .100 I didn't get a hardcase with it, but will supply a Warwick Rockbag that I have spare. Thanks for looking! Alex.
