Unfortunately this is now happening to often to live music venues across the country, keeping a live gigging band active becomes more difficult as each year goes by.
Nice picture of Wayne of Limehouse Lizzy on the main website page.

Not for me, distorted bass and that style of playing does nothing for me, it’s obviously a bass specifically made for specific genres of music.
I’ll stick with my tight/punchy 1990 MM Stingray.

Just found this amazing female vocalist on YouTube, her name is Morgan James, incredible soulful voice.

The gigging scene was very buoyant around our way, then came Covid, the live music venues have now halved. ☹️

An electronic kit will never sound as good as a quality acoustic kit, every drummer I ever played with have owned high end kits, DW, Ludwig, Slingerland etc.

Bet it was lighter though, took up less space and was easier to load in and out. However, point taken. There are swings and roundabouts with everything.

Was this in Foghertys?
I have never been there (only once been to liverpool), but a friend of mine used to always play there so it looks familiar
The clue is on the gig list board above the bass players head. 👍

Phil Collins lad has taken over drumming duties with the band, what a cracking drummer he is.

£360 for a ticket to see bands or artists that have not been announced as yet 🤪

Brothers Osborne.
I like a bit of heavy country.

Isn’t there a “not” missing in there ?
Corrected, missed out don’t have. 👍

There is not a day that goes by that the wife and I don’t have conversations about music, it’s a massive part of our lives together.

Pretty well same as here, but there are always cancellations or new people in the market. We are obviously booked months ahead but we always get stuff coming through that is short notice stuff, such as cancelations. its worth putting the effort in.
But I think it is an important thing to get out gigging as soon as possible to cement the idea of being a gigging group, otherwise it is just very easy to fall into the 'lets get this perfect, maybe next month we will look at gigs'.
Understand what you are saying here, but cancellations usually come in at just a days notice, these guys cannot even sort rehearsals, so not much chance of doing a very short notice gig, two other problems, they will be under rehearsed and have no drummer.

In that case get a gig booked and in the diary for next month
Must be easy to get gigs around your neck of the woods.
Not a hope in hell in Cambridgeshire, most venues are already booked up for six months to a year ahead, since Covid, too many bands and only half the live music venues still operating.

Walk out into the Fens and wave them goodbye.
They may be talented players, but appear to lack other qualities required to get a band off the ground.

Four strings for all of my bass playing career, never had the need for a fiver in any of the bands I have played in.

Wishbone Ash on Thursday evening, packed house of people of a certain age.
This is the Live Dates Album tour, an evening of their fabulous well known tracks.
Great musicianship all round with a superb sound mix out front.

What a very good songwriter. Wouldn't recognise him if he fell on my head from a high roof.
Still got it... but playing one of those guitars that dentists and doctors buy to hang on walls.
It looks like a PRS to me, probably one of the most versatile guitars.
Nowt wrong with a PRS.

That's a lot of classic albums that have been 'trounced' by one live album which has completely different arrangements.
I don't dislike David Live as an album, I'm just not sure it trounces the sum of its parts.
Yes, I have to agree with you there, I guess I like it due to the different arrangements of his classic songs as something different from him.

IMO, just very good live albums, I have them all on original vinyl except Thunder on CD.
Supertramp - Paris
Simple Minds Live - In The City Of Light
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers - Pack Up The Plantation Live
Mountain - Live
Doobie Brothers - Farewell Tour
Dire Straits - Alchemy
David Bowie - At The Tower Philadelphia
Thunder - Live

I have to say there are some pretty weird Proms this year. Why?! Just why?
Surely the packed out hall last night, answers that Mickey.

That was brilliant, really enjoyed it, the full orchestra really fitted with the genre of Northern Soul.

When some BCers say they're not much cop at bass.....

I’m definitely not as competent as I was, say twenty years ago.
I listen back to some of the bands I have recorded with and think I just cannot play to that level anymore.
I think a lot of it is due to old age and the dexterity is not what it used to be.
