1. Hey bass chatters Got my second ever tune out for my new project, it's an alternative rock kinda thing, let me know what y'all think!
2. Thanks a lot guys! Gonna be putting some more stuff out in a few weeks.
3. Hey guys! Been a long while since I've had anything new to post but I'm back with the first song from my new solo project Tomer Krail! I'm playing the bass and all the guitars (sorry guys) and doing a bit of singing too. Have a listen and let me know what you think!
4. Nice, you guys sound tight. Very 80s.
5. Cheers guys, my trial is up soon and I may have to get it..
6. So the discount works even if you've only just bought an izotope plugin? Is it 50% off?
7. Cheers! Yeah our other stuff is a little more traditional indie but I quite like making tunes with weird chords and that.
8. Sounds cool! I like them George Harrison arpeggio riffs, bass tone is pretty slinky too.
9. Hey guys, my band has relaunched recently under a new name, we play guitar based indie rock stuff but we've decided to release our more experimental stuff as well. I'm playing bass and guitar (sorry) on this one, let me know what you think! https://soundcloud.com/artbreakofficial/time-demo
10. Cheers! Yeah I really love my star bass, it's a shame there aren't more 5 string hollowbodies out there, I think it makes a real difference to the character of the sound
11. Hey guys, check out this live recording I did with my band awhile back, its some groove/fusion style stuff. Bass solo begins at 5.15 so as usual let me know what you think! https://soundcloud.com/tomwilliams93/three-on-4
12. Very nice! I like the effects on the bass lead that sound like singing, only think i'd say is you could pick closer to the neck on the melody stuff, make it sound a bit mellow but thats my personal preference.
13. Hey guys, check out my new tune, inspired by the 60's and all the groovy music that went with it, cheers! https://soundcloud.com/tomwilliams93/endless-summer
14. Cheers for the feedback, I thought that the synth strings might be seen as jarring but I had hoped the bass guitar and other instruments would take the sting out of it, I noticed it sounded a lot more saturated through headphones than my speakers which are a bit bass heavy. I think the track would be really lacking if I took the strings out but maybe I could bring them down a bit.
15. Sun and air and son and heir are tom haines compositions, he was my teacher at college and we recorded them while there, he went on to win a few jazz composition prizes and I think is doing pretty well now, i'm not sure if he recorded those tunes again though so it may be the only version
16. Hey guys, just finished this new tune, its a bass led instrumental, not really sure what genre you'd call it, kindof electronic/jazz/ambient? Not great with that sort of stuff but anyway let me know what you think https://soundcloud.com/tomwilliams93/skyview-progression
17. Cheers for the feedback guys, i appreciate it . I recorded it with both pickups and tone controls on full and there's no amp, direct recording with reverb and compression, try the FET electric bass preset on the logic compressor, it's really good
18. Something i've been working on for awhile, any feedback would be great https://soundcloud.c...y-foolish-heart
19. Hi guys, new video up on the ol youtube channel, it's bassically me soloing on a loop I made (all bass). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xdq_DBsttTc Cheers!
20. Fantastic! martin and julian teach at my college, great stuff!
21. I currently study at Trinity, though I applied for Birmingham as well. I really enjoy my course, I am also an electric player who has picked up double in the past few years and though my principal study is double I play both about 50/50. I was planning to audition at leeds if I didn't get in at either trinity or birmingham, you don't have to apply till later because its through UCAS not CUKAS but I am told that it is a good course, if not nearly as good as it was a few years back. I didn't apply at guildhall because if you study Jazz you have to do classical as well but I know some very good players who study there. I don't officially know but I think Leeds is the easiest to get into, royal welsh the second and birmingham the third, not sure about trinity and guildhall.
22. New solo bass shenanigans, this time bassed (pun) around one of my favourite ballads. Have a listen and let me know what you think!
