And COMPLETELY off thread (hijacking my own thread is that a thing?!) I see you are a Mesa and Markbass fan for amps (me too!) - but also a BIG fan of BF cabs, which I'm thinking of getting. Love to get your feedback on your cabs - I was kinda thinking about the BB2 and I see you've gone for the Big Twin 2 and two 10. Feel free to PM me with your thoughts on your BF cabs and how they compare to other cabs you've previously had, if you prefer to avoid de-railing this thread too much further - but I'm sure our fellow BCs won't mind too much either way!
The BF 10s are fabulous. The TWO 10 is light compact and outperforms any 410 I've ever tried. It has character and moves a hell of a lot of air. When coupled with the SIX 10 to make a virtual EIGHT 10 it's Old Testament fear of God stuff especially with the Laney Nexus or the 400+. The response/attack of these amps hits the BFs and you get instant hefty thump. The BT2 is ultra efficient, scary loud and totally transparent - I use it in venues where I know the acoustics are dodgy, the horn helps me hear what I'm doing. The SIX 10 solo is the most used combination. It's killer. Beats a Bergantino NV610 IMO and is a lot lighter. My 10s both have surf green tolex and black cloth fronts so they match and the TWO 10 has the 4/12 ohm switch. I can't ever see me changing these cabs.
Which one are you going for - the Fender or the Donner (at half the price)? More to the point does that mean you're also thinking about getting the Zoom B3n, now that your "deal breaker" has been sorted?!
Oh, the Donner. Anyone can see it's the same and delivery is already paid with Amazon Prime.
Not necessarily! - I don't think that an XLR out has to be (or always is) a balanced output, which a DI is? Cheers Dood for that tip - that looks like a really neat solution for the lack of DI / XLR on the B3n: https://www.amazon.c...lper/B00KZHMKUQ I think I'll definitely be adding to my pedal board - in fact just pulled the trigger but on something that seems to be exactly the same but almost half the price(!) https://www.amazon.c...d/dp/B01N3YRLUN Can't believe the price doubles just to get the Fender badge...makes you wonder right?
I'm having one
(together with the lack of DI out)
Same thing. XLR out = DI out
The Zoom B3n is obviously a hot topic too but of course is bass orientated out of the box.
Without an XLR out! It was a dealbreaker for me.

I bought a gig bag from Gareth and it was packaged nicely, posted very quickly and is absolutely super. Many thanks for another great basschat transaction.

BB2024x. I have two. BB1300 that I have has two humbuckers and 24 frets - it's amazingly good but a different flavour.
I think it was a 5 I tried. Part of the issue for me was the small body size and the position of the upper strap button up over the 14th/15th fret.
It was the same for me. On the strap the nut ends up being too far away from you. It's similar to the G&L ASAT in that way. It's a showstopper for me.

My Barefaced Retro SIX10 is fabulous. Light, punchy and surf green. It has a little bro TWO10 in case I need the full 8x10 experience, which since I play a lot small venues is usually the case

Someone has paid £442 for that Tribute plus £20 shipping. He could have had this one for a bit more with free shipping https://www.bax-shop.co.uk/right-handed-bass-guitar/g-l-tribute-l-2000-electric-bass-guitar-tobacco-sunburst

Another way of spotting a Tribute is the tuners. The tuners on that eBay are generic and not finished to the standards of the G&L ones.

I've got an L2000 Tribute and it's an absolute peach; light, fabulous neck, good fret work. The one I've got is listed as "Premium" Tribute by some retailers and as far as I can tell this means that it has nicer looking wood as it has blueburst transparent finish front and back rather than a black back. The L2000 Tributes have the USA pickups and build quality is excellent. I paid £270 for mine with a hard case, it's 9/10 condition. I'd love to have a USA one.
I messaged him a few days ago. No response.
He responded to me on weight. In that ad what does, "The Iain in these is bucket proof. " mean? Predictive text winning in the rush to get this listed.

Reasons for me include some of the same as above:

Other members not knowing their parts at rehearsal.
The band stagnating because no one wants to learn new material and the set list being the same for months.
The band playing EVERY song too fast so that it doesn't groove or breathe. This also leads to people stumbling and falling over themselves and dropping the groove.
Idiots.

That's what I've been using. I'm not sure how the toneprint feature works. Blue
You download a file using the TonePrint app and then play that soundfile to your pickups (bass pluggled into the pedal) and it magically transfers the patch to your pedal. It so easy it's wonderful.

TC Electronic G-System - Pro Multi-Effects and routing -
Sean replied to Dood's topic in Effects For Sale
I used one of these for two years and it was awesome. The quality of the effects is about as good as it gets and the build quality of this thing is epic. It's super versatile and more flexible than you can imagine. For anyone using a load of sound live and playing a massively varied set like I was at the time, it's fantastic. It's way way above any of the multi-fx gear out there. Steve Vai uses this live. It handles all the bass you chuck at it too, it's not guitar specific, think of it as studio quality effects at your feet. Good luck with the sale. -
I have one but prefer the TC Corona with Toneprint. Tom Hamilton does no wrong in my eye.

Hilarious bit of FB arguing! :-D

+1 I have two BB2024x basses and they are gigged most weeks through monster rigs with no issues. Someone saying that this issue is shocking on a bass costing so much needs to understand a bit more about pickups. Look around at some other high end basses with single coil pickups in them, Lull, Shuker, Pensa etc. Yes, you can get SC pups with dummy coils and you can also get stacked humbuckers but they don't sound the same.
Sean, you just need to drop the "s" in the "https" part of the link address.
Cheers.
