1. Try the Korg Pandora PX4D - I love mine and use it every day. It has everything you could want in it and an aux in. Great patches and sims built in.
2. Hail, hail, Flea! If he is a one trick pony, that's one hell of a trick he's doing!
3. For interest: http://www.lakland.com/audio.htm Lakland's great little project. The DJ4 sounds heavy at 9lb 5oz, my 44-02 is 7lb 7oz and my 55-02 is 9lb 5oz. What would be the major factors here? Both are Ash bodied maple neck instruments.
4. I have a mini-XLR to angle jack 2ft on order from Dave right now. He'll do pretty much whatever you need.

Cubase LE

Hi - Does anyone have a copy of Cubase LE that they could send to me? I had a copy with my Zoom H4 but it's now gone off to storage deep in a box because of my house move. I've had to do a full system recovery this week and have lost it. Favours done in return!
6. I heard that Darryl Jones was being paid $20,000 a week by The Rolling Stones when touring and a smaller retainer when not. This sounds realistic for a huge act and the fact that Darryl is now an established member of the tours. It cringe to imagine what that numpty Ronnie Wood is on as a full member of that band.
7.
Do I need a passport to get into Wales these days?
Only drummers need show their passports! The Sunday gig will be great if the weather holds. Come and say hi if you get there. I'll be the one playing bass!
8. Thanks for the heads up, Paul. We'll be getting in touch with the organisers soon.
9. I'm strictly on the squash, these days. With such a big band and people usually paying good dollar to see us I can't afford any clunkers. Mind you, if I'm not driving, not working the following day and there's no rush to get back after we've finished the set I tend to take advantage of the facilities at a venue. Sadly, the stars don't align themselves that way very often!
10. Hi - on the scrounge for some notation for this Wilson Pickett classic. Sorry - forget it - it's a piece of uknowwhat.

Ebow's

I borrowed one from a guitarist in our tribute band had I really struggled with it on bass. On guitar it's fab but it doesn't seem to have the ooomph to get the heavy strings going at a reasonable distance. I had lots of fun on the D & G strings though and slurs are definitely the way forward here. Can't say I have much "real" use for one as a full time Duck Dunn impersonator!!
12.
I really can't fault the amps sonically although the wheels on the combos can be fragile over rough surfaces.
I still jhaven't found anywhere that does replacement wheel assemblies!
13. I have an RB700/210 combo which I use for rehearsals and also as an on stage monitor for large gigs. I think in time I'll be running an extemsion cab and ditching my Ashdoown rig completely.
14. www.amplifiercoversonline.com - great service, real people. I've had two from them and they are fab.
15.
I'm writing a book on him and Nile Rodgers - it will have 20 transcriptions (bass and guitar) and hopefullly lots of detail - tricky, as you say, there's not a lot of info out there on him. STu
When's the book out, Stu? The song list is certainly impressive. Are you taking advance orders?
16. What OBBM said, everyday and twice on Sunday. Either a Darryl Jones or a Joe Osborn. Can't beat 'em.
17. So how do they compare soundwise, build wise and generally? They all sure are very purrdy!
18. There was a 1996 Streamer Stage I on ebay about a year ago with a BIN of £495 - it had alu flight case, strap, 10 sets of strings, wax, cloth, strap, tools and some other bits nad pieces. It didn't go and when I got in touch with the bloke he said he'd got £400 for the lot part ex-ed against a mixer!!! He who hesitates, eh?
19. M****F*****! Really feel for you on that one, Chris, it leaves a really hollow feeling, I know.
20. Darryl Jones, Stewart Copeland, Steve Morse, Stevie Wonder and Joss Stone.
21. Bought my Laklands from them - superb service, great communication. If you are going to deal with them it certainly pays to talk to them on the phone.
22. I tried hard to think of one that wasn't obvious for me and it has to be Dreaming From The Waist by The Who on The Maximum R&B boxset. Wonderful example of The Ox being The Ox.
23. Jay bought this bass from me a while back. Top bloke and top bass, build quality is excellent. It's a very versatile instrument and always gets lots of admirers. Just to complete the log book as it were, I bought it new from Merchant City Music in Glasgow in 2004. Good luck - hope it goes to a good home.
