1. Still considering offers. Mostly interested in 6 string basses now.
2. Hi folk, Sorry I've not replied - basschat was failing to update me. Based in Milton Keynes, but happy to travel to hand deliver (check first). Also forgot to say the bass has just had a professional set up by a local guitar tech.
3. ITEM NOW SOLD. Offers still considered... I've decided to move this great bass on to a new home... so good news for someone looking for one of these?! I've had the bass from new, for about 2 years. It's only seen some light playing, as it was purchased purely for tunes that need that low-B tightness. Non-smoking home. The bass is very nice to play, as per a typical SR bass. The condition is very good, but shows minor signs of use (no major scratches, dents or anything like that though). It has just had a complete set-up by a local luthier: Fret dress, fret levelling, fretboard polish; truss rod, action & intonation all set; etc. I personally find the 35.5" low-B scale length a good compromise between the 37" of Dingwall and similar basses, but a definite improvement over standard 34". Although not pictured, it does come with a Stagg hard-case, which has been pretty much unused. I'd prefer any buyer picks up the bass, but I might consider posting - if the buyer pays for insured postage. Other specs can be found on the Ibanez site for this bass: http://www.ibanez.co...d=81&color=CL01
4. I'm really interested in this! In terms of the overall condition, how is it where it counts (fret condition, pre-amp pots, set-up and neck quality, etc)? Cheers!
5. I'm interested in this. I have the 805, but looking into moving to the 6. I've PM'd you.
6.
I wondered which of these East preamps is mounted here? http://www.east-uk.c...ss/u-retro.html I see three stacked pots, two toggles and one LED. The toggles are for pickup selector and for active/passive? Or is that serial/parallel toggle for the humbuckers? What is the purpose of the LED? Thanks for the details!
Apologies for hugely delayed response. The preamp is a u-retro 01 (3-knob). The switches are active/passive and then pickup selection, although the precise function of the pickup selection switch depends on the active/passive mode. In active mode, it switches between the knob blend value and a fixed, equal mix. In active mode, it switches between bridge and both (again, fixed equal mix). The u-retro models don't have an LED. In this case, the previous owner must have fitted it in place of the removed switch. The function is simply that it illuminates when the jack is plugged into the bass. To my taste, it's too bright for use on stage, but could be easily dimmed with a change of resistor. ...Joe.
7.
Weird that it cracked the lacquer putting the LED in, as there should be a switch there anyway, which I would assume would be bigger. There is the front / both / back, the Split coil switch (not there on yours, 2 way split coil, series parallel on mine), and the passive / active / active treble boost.
Very careless, I'd say. The switches seem to be ~6mm threads, and a typical clip-in mount for a 5mm LED could be a slightly larger hole size, depending on the part. 6.35mm suggested here, for example. I must admit, I have always assumed the crack was caused during LED fitting, but it could well be unrelated. ...Joe.
8. This bass is still available. Apologies to anyone who messaged me regarding the bass if I didn't reply previously.
9. Still available! Apologies for not replying to posts here - been mega busy, but anyone interested can PM me. For those asking about trades, I'm interested in ergonomic, lightweight basses. But I'm mostly saving up for a custom job, so my arm would take some twisting!
10. Just to note, I am happy to consider offers. Also, I would be happy to travel up to 30 miles to deliver or meet a buyer. Also could arrange something in London and Cambridge. Thanks!
11.
Nice looking bass and with the East preamp, it's an absolute bargain! GLWTS
Cheers! If I had the original preamp, I'd probably be selling the East separately from the bass.
12. Still available - 30th July 2016. I'll regret this, but here goes... I'm selling my G&L tribute L2500, which has been fitted with a EAST U-retro preamp - it sounds amazing (possibly more so than the original G&L pre). It was my go-to bass for the last 5 years or so, but I've changed my playing style and can no longer get on with the ergonomics. Can't tell you how much I love this bass, but it's going to start gathering dust and I'd prefer it was used by someone! I've listed for £350, but am open to offers. It's a gorgeous bass. I previously owned a blueburst US model, but this one is even prettier to my eyes... the colour is so rich and vivid. The bass itself is in good condition, but is not without cosmetic blemishes. Low fret wear. The preamp was fitted by the previous owner and they cracked the clearcoat when fitting the LED (see pics). There's also another small piece of damage to the clearcoat on the front of the bass (again, see pics). On the neck, there are a couple of dings. Nothing that bothered me too much and could easily be sanded-out if required. A couple of people have asked about weight... it's 4kg on my bathroom scales. History of the bass is somewhat unknown, I must confess. I purchased it from a local independent (Hollywood music, Milton Keynes) as second-hand. The previous owner had traded it in for a 4-string G&L, but I don't know anything beyond that - other than that the shop said the preamp was fitted by the previous owner. It's been used regularly for practice at home and jam sessions over the years, plus a couple of short-set gigs. The pics don't show the case, which is in my loft - but it's a nice G&L one, fitted to the bass. 13. Hi Owen, I'm currently thinking about getting one of these, so I'd be quite interested in yours. Can you tell me, is it the E-C or B-G configuration? I'm actually interested in either, but I only have money for one and I'm considering all my options. Thanks! ...Joe.
14. I'm regretfully selling my lovely Ibanez SR1206 here, which I purchased 18 months ago. Used only for home practice, it's in generally lovely condition. This is a fantastic instrument - beautiful looking and sounding. The nordstrand pickups take this way beyond what the typical Ibanez/Bartolini combinations can cope with. You can read more about it on the ibanez page about the instrument (search SR1206 in google). Condition-wise, this is in generally awesome condition, but unfortunately it has picked up a slight dent in the body (near the pre-amp controls). Please see pictures for detailed close-ups of this. Also included is the Ibanez Premium case for this instrument - which has only been in the loft, so is in great condition. Based in Milton Keynes. Would rather buyer collects, but will definitely deliver within 30 mile radius. I can also post - but the buyer would need to cover the cost of that. Thanks!
15.
Are you interested in a trade for a 92 Fender 1960 reissue jazz bass?
Sorry - no trades on this one. Thanks though!
16.
wow this is nce been after one of these for a while. need any building work doing in youre house and my wages go toward the bass !!!! glwts .
Unfortunately not (rental), but thanks for the offer!
17.
Pretty
Yeah, it's lovely. Selling it is probably the worst thing I've ever considered doing. It makes sense, but not in my heart.
18. Due to a recent house move, I'm forced to sell my lovely NS CR5M EUB, which I've owned for around 6 years. This is the CR model, with the standard Piezo and also Magnetic pickups, with 18 Volt electronics. Such a beautiful sounding bass. In reality, this has been little more than a fantasy instrument for me, and has rarely been played (and never gigged). My plan was to use it to learn to play the upright, but time is always against me and I've failed to do anything more than occasionally tinker with it. Condition-wise, it's in a lovely state. There are some very minor cosmetic dings, the most significant being a very small dent in the neck (see pictures). It comes with the floor-stand and gig bag, both of which are in great condition. Thanks for the interest. Very happy to answer any queries. ...Joe.
