1.
I have never had a good setup from a shop ever infact PMT 'looked over' the Ray 5 while I was paying and they made it worse infact it had no tension in the truss rod at all. I can make minor changes and the rest is done by a mate more clued up than me for mates rates (food, labour or just general begging etc). You can only really learn by having a go whilst being shown too IMO, How do they know what you want or do they set it up and people just get used to that guys personal setup?
Depends on who has done setup, saying its worthless is like stating a service carried out on a car you where buying was a waste of time. asking extra is not on though, should mean bass comes with no unexpected issues if done by someone who has had either correct training or working knowledge of whats required and that can be difficult to find sometimes, and yes personal tastes would dictate an optimum setup but a general once over from someone who knows what is req does have value in my opinion.

 15.
Hi, i see this has a "custom digital power suply" , does that mean that you can also use it in areas with a different voltage? (U.K. > EU mainland > U.S. all use a different voltage so most Markbass amps are specified for one zone, but some amps like the TC Electronic ones work everywhere, so i was hoping this might have that "special" powersuply as well..)
Hi Just checked not the case Im afraid one zone only

The frequencies that you can cut or boost have been carefully selected, and all tweaks are audible: only small adjustments are needed to control punch, attack, and definition to suit your personal needs and tastes. S1M • Solid state preamp • Ultra-linear frequency response • Mute switch • Inspired by the Little Mark II and SA 450 preamp sections The S1M preamp is identical to the S1, but adds a mute switch: useful for when you need to change instruments during a performance, or tune in silence when using a tuner connected to the tuner output. MVVL • Master level control • Line out level control • VLE filter • VPF filter • New high-tech bi-band limiter In addition to the basic volume control, the MVVL module features a line out level control, useful to manage the amount of signal sent to the mixer or to a recording device through the balanced XLR line out. Also features the VLE and VPF filters, and our new bi-band limiter.
Bump for trade offers etc

 18.
1) was the actual pickup at fault? i.e: bobbin wire broke by itself? 2) hardly a statistically significant sample
And yes utterly knackered, also many examples of pots not working at all wiring sound, all returned to fender under warranty there QC is suspect and the pickup was tested no output at all.
 19.
Electronics on the bass are as simple as they get. If you can solder... I'd save the hassle and check it myself. On a Jazz, with the easily removed control plate (3 screws!) it'll take all of 5 min. The pickups are *very* unlikely to fail unless you physically damage them while removing them or something. My bet is a loose wire too. And if you said the output socket had been loose... chances are that while twisting the nut from the outside only you were twisting the cables inside and one snapped. Under 5min repair I would only bother with warranties if a pickup does not work (but they do, and I still have to see a pickup just dying on me, after *many* years tinkering), or a real problem is found: truss rod defective, cracks on fingerboard, etc. If you can't solder but plan to be around electric instruments... I recommend you learn. It will save you a LOT of hassle in the future. And cash.
Not that odd with fenders in my experience had neck pickup fail on a new usa strat one week into owning it no output at all when tested replace under warranty
