  1. How do you go about finishing a sanded neck, iv read a few people use tung oil or beeswax. I have and love a really smooth non sticky neck, my other bass is a sterling by music man and thats as smooth as you like.
  2. I started to revamp my old ibanez EDbB 500 near on a year ago, well I started the sanding anyway. New house new start so a couple of days ago i got the box out of the loft to have a play. Here is what it was like: [attachment=111663:2011-08-01 19.15.39.jpg] I spent a bit on upgrading this bass before I bought a new one; badass 2 bridge, u-retro preamp and new tuning pegs. The only thing I wasn't liking was the colour and finish. I now play in a covers band rather than the teenage metal band and kind of gone off the black guitar look. Iv sanded down the body and the neck to a nice standard using different grades of paper down to 600 grit wet and dry. I need to do further sanding of the neck down to at least 600 possibly even 1000 grit. [attachment=111672:20120627_180509.jpg] Iv decided since seeing an arctic white fender that I wanted a bright white guitar so I found some paint, its diamond white (cheaper stuff from halfords). Here is the body primed: [attachment=111675:20120627_205652.jpg] And now with a few top coats: [attachment=111674:20120628_142059.jpg] Tomorrow is the lacquer day, Im really happy with the finish so far. Im a bit worried about the electrics as I am a complete noob with electrics. Sam x

I just purchased an EBS Unichorus from Samuel, the pedal is great and the price was a bargain. I dont want to repeat all of what ead said above but I had a similar experience with Samuel. My first enquiry was on 7th June and due the speedy reply money was exchanged within the hour with the view of it being posted that day. I received the pedal this morning 9 days later with a post office stamp dating 14/6/12 even though twice I had a message saying it was sent. It took a while but I now have what I paid for so Samuel cheers for the great deal, I can see that previously there were no major issues so hopefully this was just a blip
  5. I was talking to a mate about starting guitar he showed me some bits and i didn't get on with it. We wanted to start a band had no bassist so there we are, didn't really know much about it prior to that!!
  6. I had an amazing practice session last night, first real on since our new arrival (7 week old baby Freya). It did take having to go to the doctors for problems with asthma, get put on steroids for the week and told the first dose taken later in the day will disrupt my sleep. The session started at 11 til 2am and was out of this world, I was so awake and focussed. In that time alone I went through some: Finger patterns and Arpeggios Then started on refreshing myself with the unison lick in Sir Duke (can play at about 80% speed Im not the quickest) I went on to look at Come together, good times and I wish all songs I should know as Iv been playing for 12-13 years. It really all kicked off learning (Dont) Give hate a chance - Epic So much fun, I have never been one for mass practice time and this would be why im still very mediocre in the bass department!!
  7. Just bought boss OC 3 from Matt, super quick delivery, great condition, great price. Cheers bud
  8. You got any pictures, im looking for something like this
  9. Am contemplating learning how to make my own by doing, might be a handy skill to have!
  10. Nothing's wrong with LS2 just want to know if options exist. I was hoping for something a lot cheaper too!!
  11. Hi guys, iv done a quick search but no such luck, is there any alternative to the boss LS 2? Any search for line selector quite obviously brings up the boss pedal. Iv thought about maybe making one but iv never touched electrics before in my life!!
  12. Iv just done two gigs where the venue wanted the first 2 of 3 sets to be more "relaxed" due to going from dual vocals to solo vocals with a new singer the songs we could play were limited we had no extras! Also using a dep drummer aol wasn't sure how we could manage it but the drummer really lead the way keeping his kit under full control. It gave us all the ability to focus on our playing and out in a good function performance. Win one for the drummer!!
  13. No you didn't read wrong i spose i meant by getting involved with discussion, something iv never really done before.
  14. Valerie - Amy Winehouse version works quite well for us, followed up by Smooth - Santana. I have to say most pubs we play in and private events want you to ease them into it. Just played in a pub right in the city of London and the venue wanted two sets of easing them into it! This lead to some jammed out shuffle version of all the small things, quite fun suprisingly
  15. To join in with the positive reviews I took a chance and went down to andertons about 15 months ago on my way home (empty handed) from GAK and found everything I wanted with all the help needed. I came out with a new sterling bass, head (little mark III) and TC cab. Great gear buying day that doesnt happen very often :-)
  16. Hi Im Sam, Iv been looking on here from time to time, recently bought some pedals from some members here. Im a bassist from High Wycombe and play mainly in a covers band called "The Shindigz" I am aiming to really master my trade in next year or so and become apart of this awesome community! SamZeMuel x
