I've got a BB1100S, which I picked up secondhand for £150 from eBay - a few years ago now. The neck is the nicest thing about it, a bit thinner than a Jazz I think, and very easy to play. I've changed all the parts on it, the most important upgrade being a set of Hipshot lightweight tuners, which fixed the head droop nicely and brought the weight down a fair bit. I've tried more expensive basses, some a lot more expensive, but don't think I've played anything I like better. It does a great Precision sound.

The only thing I haven't swapped out is the preamp which, as far as I can tell, is perfectly transparent. The three-band eq is great for on-stage tweaking, and I rarely have to touch the amp during a gig.

I used to have a very early JV Precision as well, which is not probably worth around a grand now, but I sold it and kept the Yammy.

completly agree only that mine is still original. Best value basses out there.

  2. Glad you had a good bash and sorry I couldnt make it.

Also sorry to hijak the thread but would anyone who went to this be interested in having the bass relay bass next. I'm trying to get it from me in Bristol to either Devon or Weymouth and you all seem in the right part of the world to help it on its way. PM me if you are interested.

    Cheers

About £40 raised on the night(its only a small pub) and I'll try and get it doubled through my work who match some charitable fund raising. A massive thanks to Ray for the 300+mile round trip to deliver the Purple Princess,

I'll post some poor quality photos later, and again it you want to have a turn I can easily deliver in the Bristol, Bath Wilts area and it would be good it we can get it towards either Weymouth or Devon where Tom Skool or Skidder and expressed and interest to keep it going!

Thanks again Ray, pleasure to meet you, have a safe journey back and let me know if you still have Barefaced GAS after the 6X has worn off!
