    EQ

Hi, OK,,,,this may receive a "doh" response so I apologise for my stupidity in advance! I have recently purchased my 3rd bass for live use. One fretted, one fretless and one upright. My wee Ampeg head has a fairly useable EQ built in that allows me to set the amp for the upright (I press the button on or off for the frettted bass that sounds great without). However, it occurs to me that now, with the addition of fretless, I have a problem as I want 3 EQ settings and don't have any way of doing that without fiddling about on stage...not ideal. So, does anyone know of a rackmount EQ that can be controlled by pedal and have various memory locations? Alternatively a pedal would suffice. All the best .... hoping I don't look too foolish!!! Kenny
  4. Oh well, deal done at £299 delivered. I will report back.
  5. Yeh, the note about the finger board is a tad concerning, I admire your honesty! Looks like a nice bass though.
  6. That's quite a beast! £300 mark sound OK for a fretless 5 you think? Assuming of course decent condition etc.

    Mazeti

Hi, Anyone got any experience of Mazeti basses? I am keen in a 5 string fretless I have been offered but know nothing about them and need to buy blind. Price looks good though for the instrument. Any advice? Hmmmmm
  8. Intonation/tuning? Have you gigged it? If so, how was it? I have tried the new squier and really wasn't all that impressed with it....is this worth a spin? Looking for a second bass (fretless) to give me some options and a JB was really what I was thinking about. Where you based?
  9. I have one of these (and have from new, about 22 years ago). I love this bass, it's my baby and I would NEVER part with it. Whoever buys this get a lifelong pal.
  10. I was a huge Rush fan....saw them in 1980 and they just blew me away. Saw them again last year (doing Moving Pictures again) in Glasgow and really wasn´t that impressed. Won't be going this time around sorry. Crap sound, way too much trickery and just not enough playing for me
  11. OK ... I´m choob (Scottish for numpty)...... Seems it was just the jack, new one fitted and all OK. Phew. Right Ampeg....get ready
  12. OK...thanks for the info. I am 100% sure no damage to the amp and wasn't really considering it as a potential failure....more my wee baby bass (do you feel my pain?). I'm not great with a soldering iron so think I'll pop it into a repair shop in the morning and keep my fingers crossed. From what you all seem to say, it looks OK (ish) so I'll stop worrying..... should have bought that Jazz Bass on Ebay yesterday after all .... just as a back up you understand (so my TRB doesn't get too upset).
  13. I'm distraught! New amp and cab delivered Friday....plugged in my beloved Yamaha TRB5-p and away I went. Bliss.... a good 45 minutes setting up a few sounds playing about with pedals. Back into my wee rehearsal space Saturday morning, new battery into the bass, plugged in my 21 year old baby and .......nothing! Horrified, I pulled the back off the battery compartment thinking "it's OK, battery in the wrong way". Touches the battery and it's warm! Hmmm....odd. Changed the battery back to the older one (that had been working fine tbh), ensured correct polarity and plugged it back up. Still nothing. Tried various batteries, all the same and all getting warm. Completely mystified, baffled. HELP!!!! Does anyone have any ideas? My wee beauty has NEVER skipped a beat in 21 years and there was NO sign of bad connection, grumbling jack or intermittent signal. I'm really quite upset to be honest. Amazing how attached you get to your bass....my other half thinks I'm MAD :-\ All the best basschatters Hopeful from Scotland
  14. Yeh... having to problems finding shiny new things to want lol! I am just blown away by the general response from the members. Great impartial support and advice, wish I'd found you all ages ago! I've been playing bass for about 30 years now and am delighted to be able to discuss/share opinions and general bass pish talk .... my other half thinks I'm a mad geek but hey, who cares. Self indulgence is a great was to pass away time. Thanks a million.
