1. Mark King is a phenominal bassist/musician, I love Marcus Miller and Stan Clark but to me no one has brought forward such good slap bass lines in great songs as Level 42. He is so musical and whether the lines are fast with lots of notes, they all fit so well with great timing, groove and phrasing. A great inspiration to me along with Paul Mcartney and Jamerson. Kalim

4. Hi all, This is an excellent sounding active Vintage (musicman copy) 5 string bass in the rare honyburst colour. Now, there are no buzzez or flap on any string inclduing the B string which is totally tight and defined unlike most copies which look great but have horrible crappy B strings, you know the score, hence not worth even picking up. The string spacing is just right too, same as my top end Bass Collection 615. Not mint but this bass is in very good condition; the neck and the frets are in great nick too. £119 incuding postage and packing (boxed) Cheers Kalim
5. Thanks Mark, Yes, it will be sad to see it go but it is meant to be played in a band and far too good to be sitting inside a box. Besides, I could do with the cash right now to upgrade my home cinema speaker system. Cheers Kalim
6. Hi all, I have, with a heavy heart, decided to sell this 8 month old Genz Benz Streamliner 900 for a reasonable £550 (and no less) + £20 insured Postage and Packing . Purchased from Bassdirect 16/09/2011 and it is in absolutely mint, working and cosmetic condition, boxed up in original packaging My band never got even to the rehearsal let alone gig. Once again I learned all the band songs but let down again. Anyway, this is without doubt the best sounding amp I have ever had the pleasure to play through. It has only been used in my bedroom, smoke free environment for no more than a dozen times or so as I go through my Roland Cube combo most of the time. I am sure there is plenty of good stuff on the net about this amp, and on talkbass, etc. http://www.bassdirec...treamliner.html Some Pics... 7. Paul Geary is from Bradford, back then he was fresh out of a top bass school in America, graduating with honours and teaching from Yamaha bass school and from home. I was privileged to have a few lessons from Paul and who in fact got me reading bass properly by getting me to employ the pattern recognition system (as he chuckled at how I was finding it difficult using the counting system). Even back then he was very professional and had a great tone.....then few years later, he is playing for the biggest names in the business, a consumate professional indeed. Kalim
8. Hi all, I have just had a Ciare Tweeter replaced in my Techsoundsystems ND210 cab but I am still getting a crackling, interference typed of sound. I have tried different basses and they have quite active EMG circuits but the problem still persists even after changing leads and location. I have made sure that the correct polarity has been adhered to when fitting my new Ciare tweeter. When I set it to off, the tweeter problem is no more so it is not the speakers that are making this sound as they sound fantastic. Could this be a result of the protective circuitry in the crossover? This is driving my patience as I can't seem to get this sorted so I would appreciate any pointers. Cheers Kalim
9. Apologies, I have moved the head onto ebay earlier.
10. Well, I met Chris last week and sold the Mark Bass 11 Limited Edition bass head to him. Chris plugged in his Fender Jazz USA, into the Mark Bass and 12 inch Aguilar, and started playing and I could have sworn it was Jaco on bass, believe me! He went through some Marcus Miller and Geddy Lee stuff too and was so well entertained that I almost forgot to take my money! Bottom line is, Chris is a fab guy and a very schooled musician indeed - a pleasure to do business with. Best regards Kalim
11. Thanks Skez, Yeh, for someone who wants clean, warm power in spades with so much control over the sound, it s a perfect set up. What I realised is that it’s Just too big sounding and loud for my needs that it over whelmed the band at rehearsal even though turned the down the volume! Maybe not used to 15 inch speaker too but anyway I think I’m definitely a 12’s man which suits my band. Cheers Kalim
12. Hi all, Well what can I say I bought this superb and powerful set up on a whim from a fellow basschatter recently which has loads of great sounds as the amplifier is Class D which gives 500 watts of clean, dynamic and fast sound into 2ohms. The amp is warm for a digital amp and the modelling is very good. I'm looking for no less than £290 for both which is almost 1/3 of original price and so one hell of a bargain!! The combo is the Yamaha BBT 500 115 + tweeter (comes with removable castors) and the cab is Yamaha 210 + tweeter. Both are in mint condition. The gentleman I bought it off really looks after his gear. The tweeters are also high quality but defeatable for those who dislike them or turn them down. Just read these reviews to get an idea of its capabilities and sound quality: Visit My Website Visit My Website http://www.sputnikmusic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=483472http://www.musicgearreview.com/article-display/895.html I have decided to sell this as I realised it is too powerful for my needs a I play in a trio and it is an overkill to say the least with the combo alone and with so many sound options!! Most importantly I have realised that the 12 speaker cab has more than enough lows and is a better fit for my musical situation. I have therefore bought the 200 watt GK digital head and a 12 speaker cab, which goes perfectly well together, hence the need to sell. I reside in Bradford, near Leeds but I am willing to travel half way in Yorkshire to meet up with buyer. Cheers Kalim

14. Hi all, I am looking to swap my Mark Bass 11 Special Edition for a Gallien Krueger MB500 head. I will give the original gig bag worth £75 with if anyone fancies a swap. Why the swap, well just fancy a change of sound now. My amp is in excellent working order and very good condition. I have tried the Rebelhead 450 and the one below that and decided it was not for me but really liked the GK MB500, even though it is not as transparent as the Mark Bass, but I can live with that! Please see pics below. Cheers Kalim
15. Hi, Yes, you can get something of a mid hump but it still remains very smooth (may be due to Neo Speakers) speakers apposed to a ceramic speker which is the character I now prefer, especially afer hearing an Eden 410 XLT which is a very live kind of live sound with a bit of roughness to the edges to the mid hump sound, if that makes sense. Right, I better get on with finding and uploading those cab pics. Cheers Kalim
16. Hi, I have for sale a fantastic Techsoundsystems Neodynamic 210 XT cab, which is 4 ohm and 700 watt (goes down to 37hz) £350. Handles 5 string no problem. Wieghs about 15kg but very solid. I have had fitted a new and original Ciar Tweeter (from Tecamp) which has 6 settings. The speakers have not been abused and is in excellent working conditon and no dents or tears. I look after my gear well. This is a very high quality cab, uses high quality components and Ciare Italian speakers and hi- fi quality wiring. I would like a straight swap, Prefereably for an Eden 410 XLT or 15 XLT or even a Mark Bass 15HF The Techsoundsystems cab sounds very smooth but dynamic. I am after something with a mid bump live type of sound so just fancy a change. I found some informtion on the net on this cab which is as follows: " #4 10-28-2006, 07:05 AM RWiegman Registered User Join Date: Jul 2005 Location: Netherlands Congratulations! Tech Soundsystems makes great cabs! I used to use SWR cabs (first one Goliath III 4x10 and after that 2 Gol. III 2x10 Jr's) for almost 8 years, but I was curious about the NEO hype. So I got a used Tech Soundsystems 210 XT and realised it was WAY better than SWR. I immediately sold the SWR cabs. The 210XT outperforms 2 Gol. Jr.'s at ease. It's better in reproducing a low B, is louder, can handle 700(!!) watt RMS, is lighter (+/-19KG/42LBS) and I now don't have trouble anymore hearing myself in the band. The sound is modern and well balanced. I'm very curious about the new TecAmp cabs (http://www.tec-amp.com/). It's the same company but got a new name. Too bad they don't have the "XT" versions anymore, but the good news is the new cabs are a bit cheaper than the older ones. I'm convinced the new product line will sound (at least) as good as the previous." Pics to follow. Cheers Kalim
17. Hi, I have a Techsoundsystems NeoDynamic 2x10XT bass cab in very good condition that sounds excellent. I have not heard a better 2x10 with tweeter than this high end cab, period. It takes a five string no problem and it goes down to 37hz, 700watt at 4 ohms! I would like to swap/trade for either an Eden 15xlt or Gallien Krueger Neo 15 or Techsoundsystems ND 15 cab as I prefer the sweetness of a 15 these days. I can send pics, let me know. Cheers Kalim
18. It was was reviewed in Bass Gear magazine and under their strict lab tests it was certified as going down to a clean 25hz! It's on my wish list. Kalim
8B ? Is that the 8 x 5 cab? In that sense it's not that heavy, also a lot of weight is held in the wood an the wood PJB use is really dense/heavy. Is it really as low as 30hz???? Great cab and a better price good look
19. Yes ok Pete, even though that was a year ago, £650 or swap for a Yamaha TRB MK1 5 string. Cheers Kalim

21. Thanks for the advice Dave, much appreciated. Cheers Kalim
It might be worth editing your thread to read LMIII as there isnt actually a MB III (nor MB II as its a LMII) and you might not get many people looking in here. Oh, and no need to shout ;-)
