4. On the counterpoint, my first bass was a "Wild Thing" Touring Bass Flea Bass and I played it until I got my Modulus. I still love it, it has a decent action (after a quick setup of course) and there were really no QC issues as far as I can tell. Maybe some bad paintwork but it really doesn't bother me in the slightest. The stock pup may have been made out to you to be worse than it is. It sounds a lot like an OLP or sub stingray. Obviously the quality is nothing like a stingray (hence why the flea is a tenth of the price) but it really was a great purchase for me. I do not see myself ever selling it, partlyor sentimental reasons, but partly because I would happily use it as a backup for my main bass. If you do get one, take off the fugly pickguard and clear off the resin- I promise the bass will look a lot better to you. It is a cracking bass if you can get one second hand. I payed £100 for mine, it was really worth it.

 9. Hello there friends, my first thread on here 'n all So just the other week I got my gorgeous blue flake Modulus Funk Unlimited (pics to follow) and I love it- it feels great. Now you may be wondering "If he loves it so much why even consider something else?" well bear with me So just the other week I got my gorgeous blue flake Modulus Funk Unlimited (pics to follow) and I love it- it feels great. Now you may be wondering "If he loves it so much why even consider something else?" well bear with me I have been considering a graphite pickguard made from modulus to replace the white pearl one on there currently (would look a bit like this http://www.planetbass.com/slides/Q5_Graphite.htm) and also getting an SGD sidewinder pickup installed as well as the bart humbucker in there (which evens the tone out well but isn't as growly. the bass also has an aguilar OBP3 (lovely ) however i don't know whether to just avoid chucking that money at the bass and just get a nice quantum? so. opinions please. add extra pickup on Funk Unlimited for more versatility? or get a Quantum and kiss my lovely flea goodbye ? thoughts please
 10. Trade for a Modulus Funk Unlimited blue flake w/ bart pickup?
 11.
What turned me off slap, back in the early 90's, was when Blood Sugar Sex Magic came out and, within a couple of years seemingly every bassist over here was playing a poxy Stingray and firing their thumb at everything
No slap on Blood Sugar (Aside from chorus and bridge on Power Of Equality), and it was recorded with a Wal, not a Ray
