  2. butyful bass man and this trio is amazing are you still playing in it?
  3. Finale is good for scores too
  4. Thanks Dudes, Actually I'm learning new stuff too, Donna lee etc and many others I have to come back to transcribing tho And of corse I do practice Arpeggios too.. very important My plan is to maybe goo and work on cruise ship[ does anyone have scores like on cruises? Matt
  5. I had them on 5 string bass but not sure they might be 6 string pickups- because of dimensions
  6. I can get the pictures but my phone is dead... Other than that there are BAss,Middle,Trebble, pan, volume knobs so there is 5 of them plus it works on 18 Volts so you need quite a room for preamp. The pickups are a little longer than usual 6 string shape.
  7. I bought Jazz bass from Dave (Monckyman) He was quick with replies and shipping went all good. I recommend to purchase from him. Matejj53
  8. I am always looking for better way to practice any advice? I usually go trough : Scales Reading Time Improvisation Technique Learning New Material Revising old material Theory, listening, ... Have you got any tips? I want to develop my reading to very good standard. I thought this could be good topic to write about and I believe that there is so many possibilities...
  9. Conservatoire for jazz- jazz standards walk and improvise ( you will have usually drummer and piano player, start with head that you play after that you walk and piano might solo or comp and then you solo and finish with head. As a solo peace they want you to play jazz, you need to know what you doing and understand peace , something like Donna lee but might be different. For lcom I'm not sure maybe some grade 8 trinity or rock school and I'm sure Donna lee would be good. Learn them very very well so you don't think the parts too much and enjoy the audition better you know the music and how to play your tunes less anxiety or nerves you will have. It is not what you play but how you play it there are many tunes to play
  10. I advice you to book a lesson with the tutor from course you want to study and have private lesson and he will explain you what they watch out for. They want you to play well don't forget. And study piece the best thing is transcription (your own) of the solo or head. Imagine something like Donna Lee but no Dnna Lee, I did Portrait Of Tracy and I had 2 consultation later and the tutor said that was wrong and I should go for jazz standard. I dod not have bass player in audience so you know they want something what is actually useful. He told me just try to spend time in learning tunes that you are actually going to play in future so you don't waste time with stuff you are not going to use.
  11. I did in Birmingham. All they wanted is good solid well thought walking and then I had to play melody and improvise over as much as you can. I started with head twice after I was walking and piano was improvising than just comping for couple of choruses and than head again and finish. Prepare some tune and work on it everyday and play over in more keys they want you to improvise and not looking for scale over all neck but they want you to know the tune very well so you can play it with closed eyes... Where are you auditioning?
  12. Hi I am selling onboard bass preamp from my bass as I replaced it with Fodera/ Pope preamp. This is good preamp that I had in my Soller guitar made by luthier Rudolf Sivcak. It consists of 3 band EQ Bass Middle and Treble. Pickup pan. Volume and there are 2 switches Switch between 340 HZ, 500 HZ and 800 HZ second switch is between12 dB and 7 dB This is running on 18 volts. It has to be 18 volts ( 2 x 9 volt battery) The pickups are from same company. those are soap-bar stile pickups. The sound is very versatile and easy to use. Plenty options available and I had many compliments about the sound of my bass guitar on gigs and on rehearsals with my bands.s Overall tone on it is really nice and warm. I only am selling as I upgraded with Fodera MG preamp and Nordstrand Dual Coil pickups.
  13. I have bought Labella strings from Clarky he responded really fast (within minutes) and I had The strings with me in 3 working days as he said. I recommend him.
