  1. Replacing my increasingly elaboarate pedalboard with a zoom B2 (soon to be B2.1u) was one of the most liberating experiences of my life. Having to dance sideways on the thing to mute'n'tune is not. Looking at the footswitch add-on that zoom sell, it looks a bit plasticy, cumbersome and cheap compared to the solid build of the Zoom. Are there any alternatives that will work with the zoom? I only want it to access the muted tuner!
  2. Thanks for all the advices guys! I'm in a rush now but I'll take this all in and digest over the next few days, but I think it's a safe bet sticking with the TC avenue. I want a 2x10, but my main dilemma now is whether to stick with the 2x12 or get a 1x12 instead... I'm thinking the full 4 driver stack is the one though, even though it's uber overkill

  4. Ok guys, now that I've got my Orange Terror Bass head (and I'm loving it!) I'm finding myself at a bit of a loss for what cabs to go for for my all purpose rig. I'm very inexperienced, have little means of trying stuff out, and I would GREATLY appreciate your wealth of knowledge with this one! At the moment, I want a TC Electronic 2x10 to go with my 2x12 and the way I see it, 90 times out of a hundred, I'll gig with the 2x10 on its own, and if I need to backline or am playing a particularly large venue, I can use the double whammy and it's job done. But that got me thinking - should I sell the 2x12 and get the nice little 1x12 instead? This will give me the flexibility of a dinky matching cab, and if I'm not mistaken, if it's added on to the 2x10 it'll still give me all the power I'll conceivably need. But now my buddy Gaf is playing around with small, loud and very TCesque sounding (to my ears, anyway!) Barefaced cabs, I'm thinking that maybe the Compact/Midget combo is the way to go! But now that I'm using an Orange head, I'm also tempted to go the whole hog - maybe down the isobaric cab route. The 2x10 looks awesome and some of you guys have raved about it, but I'm worried that it'll be way too vintage sounding for my liking (at the moment, I've got a nice "hybrid" of vintage and modern with the TC 2x12) not to mention that it's just so TINY! Could I really use that little thing as my full gigging rig??? Or if I wanted to augment this little cab (maybe with the orange 2x12 isobaric? or another 2x10) would THAT even be enough to compare with my proposed modular TC rig? I've had 3 hernias, so I need to keep things as light as possible, so 4x10s etc are kinda outta the question. Bare in mind that I'm soon to become a poor student, so this rig kinda needs to be "the one" if possible What do youse guys reckon?

I've already got the 2x12 for the bottom end (and it sounds mega with the OTB!), and I think the matching TC RS210 would be the perfect compliment for that extra option in flexibility and that extra bit of punch when running a full rig. I'm suspecting the 210 and the Orange will be my holy grail for flexibilty... I really need to try the orange isobaric!
  6. +1 to the TERROR - Just picked one up today and I love it already! Seems like it does only do one sound, but it's a reasonably pliable sound (if that makes sense) and it sounds to my ears to be a great sound for gigging with. Warm, clear, BASS sounding, and I imagine it'll have plenty of cut-thru in a band situation. I loved my little mark ii, but it was just clean within an inch of its life and lacked any kind of character to my ears. The orange seems right just out the box! I'll post in more detail when I've gigged it, but my initial impression is don't pass it by

  8. I'm still hunting for my ideal rig, and at the moment i'm on a collision course with an orange bass terror and rs212/rs210 stack, which I think will be awesome. But in my travels, i've seen that tc do a combo amp, which seems essentially to be their RH450 crammed into the RS210 cab, and the pricetag seems to suggest nothing less. Has anyone had any experience with this piece of kit? Would it be worthwhile going for one of these and coupling it with the rs212 for a full rig, or would I be losing out somehow? Obviously, i'd be losing flexibility and changeability, but it'd be so cool to have my amp built into my cab :-D This is all hypothetical of course, as i'll probably stick with the orange, and if anyone is selling an RS210 let me know!! But it's worth considering down the road

I'm 100% convinced now that an RS210 is the way to go. If the current consensus is that the TC cabs are designed to match up with each other, then I completely don't see any reason not to. Thick bass down below, but punchy up top where you need it - perfect! And I'd also have the choice of two different cabs to gig or practice with solo, rather than just two of the same. It's a winner!

  11. PM'd (about the 210)! It's the last piece of the puzzle for my rig! Damn, if I didn't have a new bass head in transit already, and if i wasn't now breathtakingly skint, i'd be all over that rh!

I was tempted to go down the double 212 route, but the extra bit of tightness that a 210 provides, coupled with the cab being that much more portable than my current 212, outweigh the mismatch in my eyes!
  14. Thank you to everyone that has replied! After much deliberation, my current school of thought is coming back to my very first original one - to go for the RS210. I already love my RS212 and I think the 210 would be the perfect compliment. The 212 cab is already portable enough for my liking, so the 210 should be a breeze. And it's always wise to match up, as most of you have already said. RS210 it is. Anyone selling one? :-) One more question - is this going to be enough to gig with, backline, and cut through? Could I risk parting with my current 4x10?

I'm currently using a TC Electronic RS212 as my cab of choice, and if I absolutely must, I run through my Peavey 410tx as well to give it a whole bunch more oomph, and this is quite comfortable for backlining. Shame is, the 4x10 ways a friggin ton, and it's huge, but it pushes air. I've heard great things about Barefaced, and I might possibly be able to get my hands on a Compact (via a certain GASeous entity who is most definitely reading this post ), and failing that, I might consider buying one brand new, because they're so goshdarn... Compact! But my real question is - coupled with the TC 2x12, is the (no-tweeter) Compact *really* any match for my 4x10, and could I afford to sacrifice this monster and not have to worry about backline gigs? Has anyone ever tried this exact combination? For the record, my amp is a Markbass Little Mark II, but it will soon be an Orange Terror Bass 500. It would have been yesterday, had the one that arrived not been a brick :-/
  16. Ok, I've been using a Zoom B2 as my pedalboard for a while. It's absolutely tiny, and absolutely awesome. There's just one problem - everytime I plug it in, I have to switch to "Control", then use Dial #3 to turn the master volume from "80" to "1.0" (100). There doesn't seem to be any way to get it to remember this - "Store" only remembers individual patches. Is there any solution?
  17. Well, I got one in the post today from DV247 - excellent service! However, the head is a brick Doesn't switch on at all, no fan noise, no LED, nothing. It's just typical for everything that I embark in to go horribly wrong lol. I've dropped them an email, so hopefully they should get it sorted and swap it out asap. Can't say it's hugely encouraging though!

Children of Dune is a great novel, a fantastic end to the trilogy. Admittedly, God Emperor of Dune is a little bit long-winded, and this is where most people get lost and give up. But stick with it, it gets good towards the end, and it all makes sense with Heretics of Dune after that (my favourite book in the entire series, if not EVER) and Chapter House Dune is excellent too. Apparently they ARE making a new movie, but I'm not holding my breath for it to be any good. I love the Lynch movie so much, even if it is a bit :wacko:

It's not like I'm playing volleyball with my current solid state markbass head or anything, but do I need to wait for the valves to cool down before I move it, etc? What situation should I ACTUALLY use the "standby" mode for, or is this effectively just a mute? And how much use would I be expected to get out of it before I had to replace the tubes? How would I know when it's time to replace? Is replacing the tubes expensive? Also - what do they mean by "Class D"? And is the preamp really the same as the AD200B (their all-valve head)? What does rebiasing mean? Please help me
