1. Your rite Mikey, the sustain is fabulous! With a pick this bass beats everything iv played to date, on full tone through my GK it has such a beautiful growl. The neck however is quite a bit thinner than most other P basses iv played but i like that as im so used to jazz basses. nah my student loan hasnt arrived yet but its going to cover it if you get what i mean. So rite now im drowning in overdraft but as i said my loan will cover that. Bad move but daym it was worth it!
2. Just got back from GAk in Brighton after hours of trying out a load of basses and this bass topped them all by a country mile! Lakland skyline series Duck Dunn P bass. mmmmm
3. This is my rig. Gk 1001RB with a trace 1x15. Sorry about the quality, my phone camera sux!

I bought a trace 1x15 off this fella and it was the easiest transaction iv ever done on BC. Great guy to have a chat with and will no doubt like to do business with him again. Cheers Martin, take it easy matey. Mike
5. No worries Sam, it happens to the best of us at times matey and im glad you like it Oscar, i hope it serves you as well/better than it served me!
6. HA, geat input there Martin ^_^ How are the pedals treating you my good sir!?
7. sorry matey, this is GONE. Thanks for the interest though
8. I MUST have this!! Pm sent!
9. Martin that looks fantastic! Im glad to see my old pedals getting some real use! Take care m8 Mike
10. only the neck. At the moment its a sort of 75'-92' Hybrid with new hardware. I need to source some more "original" hardware aswell at some point but for now, its good enough for a lazy student like me
11.
Sweet bass man. Is it all original 'cause it looks like the pickups are in the 60's position not 70's?
Afraid not, the body is actually a 92'. However thats about to get swapped out for a swamp ash Warmouth body in transparent blue mmmmmm Dont let the idea of the 92' body fool you though, this bass is an absolute monster!
12. Im the same as Benwhiteuk here. I have a GK 1001 thats got an FX send and return but when i tried it, the effects sound awfull and make hissing sounds all over the shop! (Im sure its not ment to do that) maybe some one could explain why this happened. So iv ignored that the amps even got a patch bay and just keep it as BASS>EFFECTS>AMP>TROUSER FLAP.
13.
The next thread you start had better be "check out my new rig".
Yeh dude, get another 2x12 if your gona add anything to it. Well thats what i would do!!

15. also great information, i think il defrett this neck myself, seams like it isnt going to be too hard after all. The hardest part i believe will be taking the frets out. Thanks for the advice guys. Il ammend the thread name as im now not going to sell this.
16. hummm, this sounds quite interesting. Im no wizz at DIY but i do love this kind of stuff. I think i might have to give it a go. I mean, whats the worst that could happen...
17. if i knew how to without potentially screwing up i would. Is it that easy to defret a neck?
18. Cheers for the reply guys and correct Mr russ, it is for now. Im deciding getting a swamp ash body off warmouth for this to completly finish it off.
19. basically i would love to have a fretless as i dont need two fretted jazz basses. The hardware (tuners, string tree and nut) is included including a hipshot drop tuner. (the other tuners are Schaller) Conditions are that it must be a genuine licensed Fender neck...with its hardware of course just like mine No cash is accepted. Sorry. Pics: Any questions, feel free to ask or PM. Mike
20. iv been meaning to put this up for a while now and finally, here it is; My lovely 1975 fender jazz. Enjoy: This is no doubt the best bass i have ever owned and its sad as it is probably the nicest jazz i will ever own. Its got some wizard 84's, cort tuning heads and its just had some new frets and strings put on it. It plays like a dream, especailly with thoes pups. They are hands down the best pups you can get for a jazz bass. Believe me on that one! Cheers Mike
21. Bump! ok how about £10 for them then?
22. How did i miss this thread?! Well done matey, thats a mighty fine job you have done there! I think it looks fantastic as it is man, although personally i would have gone with a black scratchplate and then all black hardware. Then it would look like the darkest, funky bass in the known universe! Either way its superb, and your first project!
23. Looks lovely and is also as old as me! If i had the money i would snap this rite up! Good luck with the sale matey.
