  1. Guys this looks very similar the the new range of unity amps by black star.
  2. I use guitar tab pro on my iPad. I couldn’t learn most stuff without it
  3. Lol yeah. I’ve been looking at it very closely over the last few months. Truth is we re playing quite big gigs now and my rig (trace head + 2 x BF cabs) is just to loud on stage. It’s got a lovely sound but it’s too much for monitoring. I’ve already sold all my fx pedals. The one issue I’ve got is gigging while I make to move over to amp less 😎
  4. I’m getting panicky about selling my last barefaced cab in preparation for going amp less. I love my rig but think it’s time to go helix.
  5. Have decided to sell my amazing, gorgeous Super Compact. I hope I don't regret it, but its time for a new owner. So its time to grab a bargain before they all go up in price during March! It's about 1 year old, been used on a few gigs and is in immaculate condition. Collection from South Birmingham preferred, but can meet within reasonable distance for cost of fuel. I will take some more pictures over the weekend.
  6. Will a cheap modeller do the job? eg bass pod pro or POD500, or do I need to be looking at a Kemper or Helix?
  7. OK, developing this thread slightly. I'm interested to hear your thoughts on using amp modellers direct to PA, and some form of on-stage monitoring. The Helix range looks awesome, but do you think for the price a POD500 or even a used Bass Pod XT might be a suitable alternative? What would I need to pay more for the Helix? To confirm, I want to use this in a (semi)-pro live gigging environment.
  8. Nice. What band do you play in? And is that an in-house PA run by the house sound engineer or your own band PA? Sometimes when we support we only get a line check so getting everything set up properly doesn't happen. How would that work with in-ears?
  9. Yes I read that on the FRFR thread. Very good read. I think the Helix LT should be OK shouldn't it?
  10. Yes guys, I'm starting to think about Helix. I was looking at the LT last night. Its a bit of a learning curve and you're right its pricy. Currently I use my Trace head, with a Barefaced Super Compact for backline. It's plenty loud enough for monitoring. So thats why I was thinking about using the Sansamp or an alternative DI almost like a halfway house towards going full helix. How much do you reckon Helix + powered cab would cost?
  11. And yes, that's kind of what I like to have the sansamp for. Ultimately I'd like to go ampless
  12. Yes, I think you've got it right. I'm mixing the 2 things up.
  13. blimey thanks for your help guys, that sounds quite technical. All I'm really trying to do is get a nice bit of overdrive grit into the sound that comes out that the audience can hear. Maybe there is another approach that I should be investigating.
  14. No, I don't have any ability to develop an overdriven tone that I like. I have the SansAmp pedal, but it just doesn't give me the sound that I like. I was watching a video about the Darkglass B7K DI which sounded great so I'm looking at a one-stop solution to handle overdrive and DI.
  15. I use a Trace Elliot 350SMX, plenty of power there. I tried to DI from the sans amp first, when that didn't work I used the XLR out of the AMP to the PA and it sounded fine. I guess I'm interested to learn can I use a pedal or pre-amp to DI and have some more control over the tone/overdrive
  16. Dudes. My band now seem to be playing mainly larger venues now and don't really do pubs and smaller venues. This means that I am relying on DI to the house PA. Generally this is fine, I use the XLR out from my Trace Amp. I use a Sans Amp to handle a EQ and a bit of drive. What I'd really like is to be able to send a reliable overdriven tone to the PA. I recently tried to do this from my Sans Amp but it wasn't working correctly, I could hear it clipping. Any thoughts on what direction I could take? Eg different DI box, rackmounted? Cheers
  17. Guys, any suggestions on a cheaper alternative to a POG? I want to have a play around with signal splitting and octaving up my signal to send to a guitar amp. Like in this video. The Behringer looks like a good option but i can't find one to buy.
  18. Yesss I like that. 🤘😀🤘
