  1. One of my favourites: Devo - (I can't get no) Satisfaction
  2. That was "Exit, Stage Left" - the Glasgow Apollo crowd are the ones providing singalong accompaniment to the track "Closer To The Heart"
  3. I don't use a fretless with a pick - that was there as a backup for the guitarist I was playing with. He was prone to dropping his, so I thought I'd have one as a spare in case he needed it while playing on my side of the stage.
  4. As long as your shoes coordinate with you the colour of your bass, you're ready to groove!!!
  5. If it doesn't drop between now and the release date, you can simply cancel the order before the release date.
  6. Spongebob - if you pre-order via Amazon, you'll only be charged the lowest price they list between when you place the order and the release date. So, if you pre-order at £40, when the price drops to say, "£22.99" you'll be charged that price. If it fell to "£18.99", you'd be charged that price. Basically, you're charged the lowest price advertised.
  7. Interparcel will give you a full refund as they've not fulfilled their delivery promise. Pain in the butt for the delivery process, but the refund will cushion the blow.
  8. The list price is £40, but the sale price will go down and up between now and the release date. The £18.59 price was a mega deal that the price reduced to shortly after it'srelease date was announced (hence why I ordered two copies!!). If the price drops below that amount between now and the release date, I'll simply be charged the lowest price.
  9. Yeah, my pre-order price was £18.59 too, with free delivery (I also ordered another copy as a present for my friend Paul Turner). If you pre-order the book on Amazon, then they will honour the lowest price it is advertised for between the time you order it and when it is actually released.
  10. I've already pre-ordered the book. Really looking forward to seeing the collection in print.
  11. I saw that clip last week and was really impressed. The bass player gets a great Geddy sound from his G&L bass. Another fun Rush cover band are "Fred Barchetta" who feature Uriah Duffy (ex Whitesnake) on bass. The girl singer really nails the early Rush vocal on this track, I've included a YouTube link below: (Incidentally, how do you embed YouTube clips in replied on this forum?) http://youtu.be/HodK8zn7xz4
  12. It was also cool to see John using one of his two Sei Basses in the studio clips too (for all the bass spotter nerds). As for the David Lynch film comments above - yup, I have to agree, it was absolutely dire!!!
  13. I've got it - good watch, but it should have been called "The Will Lee and Richard Bona" film as they'e got the most screen time - WAY more than anyone else.
  14. As much as the show seems to get slated, it' the bestbliveusic show on TV these days, and still provides the occasional gem. Peter Gabriel - performing "In Your Eyes" (incidentally, how do you embed YouTube videos on this site?) https://youtu.be/fQeeJaemrMY
  15. The old Presentation model has a truss rod- but as you correctly stated earlier, there are no stiffening rods or materials in the neck construction (a truss rod doesn't act as a "stiffening agent", rather it is there to counteract the tension exerted by the strings on the neck). I've played Dave Swift's presentation model, and yup, there is definitely a truss rod in there. Crazily expensive basses!!!
  16. While the Fodera Anthony Jackson has no graphite stiffening bars in the neck, it does use a truss rod - a titanium one.
  17. Loved the film!! Richard Bona is an absolute delight to watch, he just has so much fun when he plays.
  18. Nick, I've now got the downloaded film. Thanks for testing the email link for me. I've dropped you an email letting you know about my adventures in getting it completed.
  19. I was really looking forward to watching the film yesterday, but as I mentioned earlier, the paused download with no ability to resume the download, really was irksome for me. And as I had retried to download via the link, it' now no longer possible to obtain the download I had paid for. Seemingly if I now want it, I'm being redirected to the site to pay an additional £8.99 to activate another link. Erm, no thanks. Hopefully the DVD will arrive soon as part of my pre-ordered bundle package.
  20. I got a second email with the download link. I clicked and it began the job. However, in my case of paused at around the 1.5Gb mark, and the download couldn't be continued. So, I tried the link again- the same thing happened. So, I tried the link yet again, only to be informed that I had reached the maximum number of download requests. Pretty whizzed off. I wonder when the DVD will arrive so that I can get to see what I've paid for?
  21. I have now received an email (at 3:50am on 2nd May 18) saying "your Beneath The Bassline downloads are available ". However, the email contains no links to the downloads. Did you get a link in your notification?
  22. I'e not received any notification yet!!
