1.
Here is a picture of my three 55-basses I had simultaneously: the three Musketeers... The top one, the fretted 55-02 "Sir Flatwound" is sold, the other two are in my possession. "Sir Fretless" is a beautiful 55-02 and "Sir Roundwound" is my gorgeous 55-94 Deluxe...
Nice fretless First dibs on that if you ever decide to sell it
 2.
I'm partial to the simple and clean look, love the unlined fretboard but often wish it had lines.
Wow, that's nice
 3.
Having moved NANO a couple of years ago I only occasionally hanker after the MEGA board days (I miss my DHA VT2 the most). I have been using some Mooers and various other options but landed mainly on TC and SFX. The MXR compressor (which I love) remains the odd one out in terms of size but I really like having metering on my comp. I have just added the toneprint enabled TC Corona mini (which I haven't tried yet but have heard some great chorus toneprints).
Like EDIT: I reposted that on TB, hope you don't mind
 4.
Phat Fred....
Was starting to think I was the only one to listen to them.
 5.

Oh, yes
 6. Hmmm, okay. For me, I stuck one on a particularly prominent (physically) LED and it's stayed put just fine.
 7. Re too-bright LEDs: granted, it would be nice if builders got it right, but these http://www.lightdims.com/ are a great solution when they don't.
 8.
new comp added and rearranged the pedals. all the most used pedals are now at the bottom. Now I can also stomp the SubT, Xero and TAFM at the same time. :-) chain is: turbo tuner->subt->TAFM->xero+hothand3->B3K->hikari->M5+mission expression (not shown)->jamman->enabler
What is the hikari, please ? (Googling hasn't told me anything) EDIT: Ahh, that's the compressor ? From these guys HERE ?
 9. Thanks to the New Orleans thing (Dr. John, Jon Cleary) I'm headed back towards appreciating piano again ... just listened to this (nothing to do with New Orleans) on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZ04ud3cSwc
 10.
I've never heard of them until recently. When i hear that something is 'funky' i'm just glad i was around when there really were some funky bands around.
Funny term, funk, probably like every musical label, means a lot of different things to different people. For me, the defining funk band is The Meters, and The New Mastersounds, while allegedly a Meters-inspired band, to me don't groove like the Meters at all. Since a lot of my current favourite music comes from New Orleans, I've been watching Treme recently, and, honestly, everything on that sounds funky to me, Zydeco, Brass bands, the lot ... oh, with the possible exception of the Jazz that Big Chief Lambreaux would call 'that chinese sh*t'. Treme:
 11.
Scary trip up the M40 to Bass Direct to try out Rob Allen basses, this one has Lady Ez and the bank balance sweating a bit http://www.bassdirec...5_Maple_fl.html Just soooo much money for something I don't 'need' but would like very much. "Dear Santa......."
That's nice ... the new price on those is kind of scary though. I waited for 2 or 3 years before picking up my Deep 5 on ebay, second hand. Very happy with what I got, no denying it was some wait though.
 12. Bo Dollis Jr and the Wild Magnolias - New Kind of Funk. (music starts about 0:50)
 13.
My mayones.
More pics please
 14. It does sound a bit like it, compared to how sansamp do it (just twist the knob, watch the blinking lights). Given how often they (Source Audio) do firmware updates for some products I wonder if they'll improve that soon ? Might be worth hanging out HERE and asking questions, the source audio guys (including the owner) are always there.
 15.
One thing I do find it really hard to make minor adjustments. If I select my fuzz effect for example, but I then feel I need to blend abit more of the dry signal in, I press the option button until it gets to mix, but then I dont know where the mix blend is at the moment, so I need to basically start the mix blend from scratch. Easy enough if you have time and the space to play about with it, but not so easy mid gig. I've not explained that last point very well, but hopefully you understand. This may very well be the reason I'l be moving it on at some point. Soundwise brilliant though.
You don't need to sell it for that reason ... the answer is in the manual:
Discovering Preset Knob Positions Since the MANTA preset values can differ from the physical knob positions, it may be useful to determine the positions of the preset knob values. To start the process, put the pedal in bypass mode and set all the knobs to their full counter-clockwise positions. Next, enable the preset, and slowly turn each knob up one at a time, until the preset indicator LED begins to blink rapidly. This rapid blinking indicates that the current position of the knob matches the saved value.
16.
4 stages sounds like a phaser (?)
From the description HERE it sounds a bit like a B3 ([sfx] variety) with an added 'sub' switch. The shape control may not do exactly the same thing as the B3's tone control, but it sounds like it's in the same ballpark.
 17.
well I'm new to the forums, so here's mine
Ooh ! What's that little SFX pedal that seems to be labelled '4 stage' ? The graphic on it is suggestive of the EQ of a B3, but it has one too many switches for that ... all the details please
 18.
My old eccleshall 335 and les Paul.
Could have sworn I'd already replied to this .... nice Eccleshall
 19.
This is my current bass pedalboard, which features my usual bass pedals on the bottom row and my 'fake guitar' sound on the top, to emulate the Royal Blood tone. This is what it sounds like!
I know not whether it nails the Royal Blood thing ... but it sounds awesome
 20.
Found this thread so thought I'd add my old Eccleshall 335.
Lovely
 21.
Wow, a good-looking singlecut bass! I thought that was an oxymoron.
+1
 22. What an awesome bass. Unfortunately the 17mm at bridge spacing is a deal-breaker for me otherwise I'd be trying to figure out what bass to sell to make room for it in the rack. GLWTS
 23. ... and while I'm thinking about it, here's another all-time fave, also with a great groove
 24. Awesome stuff. Probably one of my top 10 singles of all time. (Singles. Now I feel old) Sorry for the repeat, but it had to done.
 25.
Sound Cloud.
hmmm ... but
I was using SoundCloud until a couple of months ago when they stopped it from being used as a tool for internal use by bands. Thanks, SoundCloud.
