Ernie Ball Stingray SUB 5 - Taken recently in part exchange against an unmentionable! As you'll most likely know this "is" a USA Stingray. These USA basses were made alongside the full blown Stingrays in the USA Ernie Ball factory in San Louis Obispo. Reputedly Ernie Ball stopped making these as they were too good for the money / EB were loosing money on each one they sold and also cannibalising the sales of full blown Stingrays! These basses are essentially what later became the classic stingray, minus some of the fancy woods and finishes. (Slab body, Stingryay 4 style pickguard, 2 band eq, vintage style neck plate, ...) The usual USA Musicman quality, classic Stingray sounds. Note the areas of wear on the body and wear to the neck and headstock as shown in the photographs. These consist of: - a few dings/dents etc on the body of the bass - wear around the edges of the headstock - small amounts of wear on the neck, this is where the finish has worn off then neck, fairy common on these basses. Weight is 4.426kg.

I've not had it since new so cant be sure. I cant see a serial number that decodes to a date either. For what its worth - I think these were released end of 2017 ish, so by that reasoning it cant be more that 2 and a half years old or so.
