IMO Leo did his homework and got it right first time simple as that. The only Basses I've ever played that felt like part of me.(if that makes any sense)

For what it's worth, In the past I have had a Sansamp RBI, Sansamp Bass driver, An MXR M80 and a fulltone Bass driver. At the moment I have a Behringer BD121 and an EBS multicomp that's all I need to give a little bit more warmth to my shuttle 9.0 head and I like the tone, can't see me changing any time soon. Cost me £10 + postage on EBay

Welcome to the forum, glad you got it back, i lived in Peckham for 30 odd years and worked in Camberwell for a number of years wish i could sing it's praises but i have seen the decline in inner London first hand. so i moved to the garden of England and to be honest ...................it's just as bad. Next stop Canada! -

What would be a typical 80s British metal/Rock bass?
TonyBones replied to grimbeaver's topic in General Discussion
No, he only played the Aria (SB Elite II) during the Master of Puppets "era", his main bass up to and including "Ride the Lightning" was a Fireglo Ric.
The Rick the aria and an Alembic all played from Kill em all onwards, Alembic was stolen around the ride rehearsals IIRC -

Been lurking for a while now, names Tony, Bones to my friends been playing Bass for 10+ years have just parted company with a great little Indie covers band Reptilia (check em out). Gear wise i have an old Ibanez SR prestige that I've had from day one a Fender PBass and a Mike dirnt PBass with a few refinements. Amp wise have just outed my trusty old Marshal VBA + cab in favour of a Genz Benz shuttle 9.0 and a 2x12 uber cab (well I'm not getting any younger and with over 100 gigs+ a year the Marshall was taking it's toll on my back) So that's it in a nutshell, Thats me!
