1. Cheers Shaker Does indeed look like a Hondo pro II if its all good then not a bad score for £40 on flea bay Cheers. Just out of interest any one played one or have thoughts on them?
2. Can any of you knowledgeable people tell me what make this Bass is. looks a bit like a westone but not convinced
3. Best I've used http://www.londonchroming.co.uk/ not cheep but thats life you get what you pay for, my first choice when i build one off parts for chops.
4. Love playing this live http://youtu.be/gclGfeOKBoc
5. Gear/Guitar acquisition syndrome
6. +1 for a Mike dirnt just as good as USA P. Vintage are pretty good for the money but my first one went back with truss rod issues and the Tony Butler went back for badly seated frets. Best P i owned was a USA 2002 P in butterscotch blonde. i did see it for sale on this forum a few months ago, I paid £400 for it. Think the new owner wanted a bit more but it goes to show, bide your time and bargains do turn up, just don't be rushed into buying something your going to want to replace in a month.
7. I feel your pain, two weeks ago my spaniel Pip became pretty unwell resulting in her ending up unable to walk and crying with the pain (good job i stopped her insurance a week earlier) after going back and forward to the vets it was decided to send her for an mri at the North Downs Specialist Referrals in bletchingly who diagnosed a slipped disc pressing against her spinal chord. The long and short of it is £4500.00 to put right so had to sell most of my Bass gear to fund her opp (now left with one bass one amp and one cab) and a friend for life. wouldn't have it any other way

9.
Surely that's the whole point of an adjustable bridge, so you can compensate for the fact that you are also effectively bending the note by the string to fret clearance when you fret it. The harmonic is not affected and gives you the true octave of the open string, fretting at the twelfth will give you a sharp note, so you wind the saddle back to bring that note to the same as the harmonic. It's only ever an approximation however You can get the open string and the twelfth fret spot on, but other frets will be out by a small amount.
So like i said fret behind the twelfth
10. Had mine for just over 2 months now and my Ampeg Markbass and marshall VBA are all distant memories. wont be to every ones tastes but for me and a 410 HLF it's Bass heaven.
11. I was always told to fret the string behind the twelfth fret as the harmonic doesn't take into account the distance the string moves when pressed down resulting in the note going sharp. Just my twopence worth, just done mine with peterson isostrobe App and the fretted, open and harmonic are all spot on.
12. Bruce Foxton "In the crowd" does just what it should................... no more no less, drives the song to perfection Imo! http://youtu.be/KoTiJaFUfMA
13. +1 for the Orange Bass terror, cracking little amp (much louder than the PF imo) hooked up to a 410 HLF i can get a fantastic range of sounds with my P Bass. This ones a keeper.
14. Ok got this amp from Andertons on the 5th May, only used it to let Jabba the hut try my Genz Benz Uber212 (that he now owns) I'm going to give it another go with my VBA 400 as i love the sound (but not the weight) so £300 delivered no trades I'm trying to thin my gear out a bit. 15. Just traded my genz cab for jabba's Ampeg cab, top bloke nice easy transaction wouldn't hesitate to do business with him again. Cheers Fella!
16.
No, blame it on the boogie
17.
STOP IT! ALL OF YOU!! I'm trying to get some work done here and everytime another clip gets posted my productivity dries up to nothing. If my kids go hungry next month it's all your fault... 19. Had a meet up with J yesterday, top bloke nice easy transaction. Hope you enjoy the Genz
20. must admit I'm pretty tempted but just checked out the specs and to be honest the HLF weighs about the same as my VCB and that's been the cause of two hernias to date so I think I'll persevere with the 212, cheers for the interest though.
21. I'll let you know what it sounds like through my 4 Ohm Genz uber 212 when it arrives on Tuesday. Feeling a bit nervous after reading this thread
22. No Problems J Pleasure to meet you, the amp deserves someone of your talent.
23. Shame your not closer I've got an Uber 212, just purchased an Ampeg head Doh!
24. On Hold Pending. All PMs answered thanks for the interest Guys. Tony
