1. HI to find lefty RICK is REALLY big problem.I am right handed but I have problems with fingers on left hand /I am not able to "use" it on fretboard so I play as lefty...I play RH Rick as left.../you can see it here... it is on website I created and uploaded a month ago..in my Slovak language it is for Slovak and Czech enthusiasts.../ http://www.rickbass.rockerian.com/moj_mapleglo_lh.html And there is a video from RIC factory made by some guy from Czech republic where RIC manager Bruce Hall is saying that they will make lefty Rics again in next /2011 / year... As we all know it didn`t happen... Here is the video.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPiZlrr-OJw I bought LH Retrovibe from very nice guy from here several months ago... What do you think of idea to replace pickups and put SD RB1? I am not experienced at all I started playing bass a year ago... Cheers Jan
2. Hi would you trade for Peavey T40?Very good condition all parts are original Is it neck thru? Not very important I am just curious... Jan
3. My friend has one /black/ sounds nice, but not like a RICK at all...But it is definitely worth the price /I hope my English is good enough/ and the final result depends MUCH on strings...You can get very poor results but quite nice too..Friend tried about 5 different strings the best results seem to be with KEN SMITH strings but of course, all depends on personal taste...
4.
But there is something I have to say...You won`t be able play standing unless you drill small hole for guitar strap and if you do that you will very propably have problems with balance...I converted my RIC but I play only sitting I can`t drill hole in such piece of art .. Friendly Jan
Hi At first HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYBODY HERE.. I`d like to add something to this topic.I removed pickup cover from RICK a few days ago..I started learning technique which is I guess called in English FLOATING THUMB.And the result is this: It`s easier to play with fingers without pickup cover but worse with pick...The cover really helped much when I played with pick. So..that`s all maybe it`s interesting for someone.
5. OK let me know the final price I bought Squier PJ Lefty /the same you are selling here but beautiful Antique burst/ from UK 6 weeks ago and postage was 30pounds /appr. 37 euro/.So if you agree I will buy the RETROVIBE for total price 280 pounds. So let me know.Friendly Jan ------------ oops..On the next day... I apologize but I cannot buy it now..My wife ...She is nice but she told me I would have to sell one of my basses /Iam selling Peavey T40 and RIC/ and THEN I can buy some bass.So as soon as I sell one of them and you still have it I will take it for 280 pounds final price. Friendly Jan
6.
I’ve got too many basses that I don’t play so some have got to go. LEFT HANDED 8 STRING P BASS My 8 string bass started life as a new Fender Squire P Bass Special and after an injection of a bit of woodwork, Schaller 8 string bridge, Schaller machine heads, Schaller strap locks and a set of Rotosound 8 string bass strings ended up like this. Nice to play and an immense sound. A couple of knocks but nothing serious and a new set of un-played Rotosounds just fitted. I’ll be sad to see it go but it doesn’t fit what I’m playing now. £250 and I’ll throw in the postage or you collect if you want. LEFT HANDED RETROVIBE RICKENBACKER I bought this a few months ago and only used it as a spare. It only got used once when the strap lock on my regular bass wore through, it had been on there a long time, so it’s only actually played 4 songs. It’s still in perfect condition although I have changes the strap buttons for Schaller strap locks. It plays very well and has a great sound. Looking at the Probass web site, http://www.probass.co.uk/Home.html, it would seem that are not going to be any more Retrovibes, especially left handed ones but you can hear sound clips and get all the details from them. Again, £250 and I’ll throw in the postage or you collect if you want. Hi I am quite new here I am left handed beginner player and I am quite interested .Iam not sure if I understood about postage..I writing abou LEFT RICK COPY RETROVIBE. So would you send it to Slovakia for 250 pounds or what price would you ask?I can pay with Paypal. Friendly Jan
7. Hi everybody I am putting here for sale my almost mint Rickenbacker Mapleglo produced in May 2011, n. 1118373 . + original hard case.I bought it on eBay from USA in July 2011 from 100% rated seller and converted it to LEFTY bass.I would NEVER sell it but I have two Rics/the jetglo is for sale here too/ and really cannot keep them both.So only one of them is for sale. 11. I think I could help I hope my English is good enough:-).So...I have recently did the same because I will never have 2400 euro for original Ric left.I bought 2 Ricks this summer /jetglo is going for sale I will put it here/ and I modified my Mapleglo to be able playing left.INTERESTING IS that usually hated pickup cover does very good job for me because I can put there my thumb if I use fingers or my wrist if I use pick.I can play with fingers behind the cover and I pick my Ric before it. Modification itself is quite easy the hardest part seems to be remove and flip/over?:-)/ the nut but it is quite easy.I did it twice /first on my Peavey T-40 for sale too-I got advice how to from Peavey T-40 AUTHOR Mr. Ch.T. 75 old man. Of course you will have to set up?/I hope you understand:-)/ the bridge/saddles/ which is easy and octaves. Here is incredible site these guys know EVERYTHING about RICs..And here is instruction how to remove nut. http://www.rickresou...my+4003#p362553 I hope that it will help you. A few words...Personally I WOULDN`T change Ric sound for some Ric lefty copy bass maybe LEFT IBANEZ would be good but it would never be RIC.And I think it is almost impossible to find left Ibanez RIC copy. Here is one: http://www.pbase.com...enbacker&page=1 Friendly Jan
12. Thanks a lot.I have noticed your beauty P bass ...I would like to show there my basses which section I should put them? Tkanks in advance.Jan
